I remember having used such an event, but I can't remember the name.
The specific task I'm trying to accomplish is to stop my slideshow when the browser window isn't in the foreground. I'm fading the different images with jQuery, which uses quite some CPU power.
Is there an event that tells me, when the user switches to another application / page.
On my page the main content is overlapping onto the footer. this is only happening in IE7. It works fine in ie8,ff,chrome. Any ideas on what the issue is?
Thanks.
I'd like to have a page that communicates directly to some IM service that I will generally be able to be logged into.
E.g. I am on gtalk all the time, I'd like people to be able to get in touch with me via the website. (the specific protocol isn't that important, of course)
What would be the simplest set of technologies to implement that?
When an external JavaScript file is referenced,
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-1.4.4.min.js"></script>
is the JavaScript source (lines of code before interpretation) available from the DOM or window context in the current HTML page? I mean by using only standard JavaScript without any installed components or tools.
I know tools like Firebug trace into external source but it's installed on the platform and likely has special ability outside the context of the browser sandbox.
We have several document libraries where users upload reports daily. I have to make a page that shows specific documents (getting them by their filename) from these document libraries with each documents last modified date.
What is the easiest way to do this?
Hi everybody. I added two pages in a project and used previouspage.findcontrol but when I used master page file, it stopped working. The control is found to be null.
Why is this so?
I've read many tutorials on how to debug php web page like this one,
all are very good except that I don't see any of them take into account .htaccess.
So these solutions won't work for web pages that have pretty urls.
Has anyone figured it out ?
Hi there
How do I access the Control (dropdownlist) in current Page from the UserControl?
In the UserControl:
String test = ((DropDownList)this.Parent.FindControl("drpdwnlstMainRegion")).SelectedValue;
It return null on ((DropDownList)this.Parent.FindControl("drpdwnlstMainRegion")) for some reason?!?!
BTW ... I am using ASP.NET C# 3.5.
Thanks

I have a chunk of content that I load via AJAX and on that page I have a FBML share button. I also tried it without the FBML and just use the hyperlink and script tag. When I load the content directly, the share button loads fine, but when I load it via AJAX, the button doesn't show up. Any ideas on how to get the FB Share button working?
I would like to know whether it a possible to detect whether a HTML page contains a video.
I know that one possible way is to look for ".swf" in the HTML source code. But most of the pages do not contain the file name.
For example, given following URL and possibly its source code, is it possible to find out whether it contains a video:
http://www.cnn.com/video/
In HTML5, name is no longer a valid attribute of the anchor tag (<a name="yadayada">). It has been mentioned that older browsers do not recognize the the new recommended approach (<a id="yadaya"> or any id for that matter). What are the browsers which don't recognize ids for in page navigation (fragids)? Are we talking about Netscape-era browsers or the usual suspect, Internet Explorer 6?
In php how would I grab all javascript from a page given it's url? Is there a good regular expression to get the src of all javascript script tags or the script inside of them?
