• How can I force a jQuery faded-in user control to remain after click events?

  I have a basic page to which I'm adding an uploader control based on Bulk Uploader at c-sharpcorner.com and the control is in a jQuery-faded div based on yesdegisn The Bulk Uploader has two server side event handlers for two buttons--Add and Remove. After clicking these buttons, the fade disappears and you're back to the basic page--if the user needs to add more files, this is not desirable. The ArrayList of files added to a ListBox is maintained, but I have to click the "fade-in" link (LinkButton id="lnkDocumentUpload") to display this window again. I also need the control to POST to UploadPost.aspx, and it doesn't work either. Clicking the upload button(<asp:Button ID="btnUpload" runat="server" />) has the same behavior described above--fade disappears, data is retained, and no POST. I've surrounded the control with <form id="frmUpload" action="~/UploadPost.aspx"> ... <asp:Button ID="btnUpload" runat="server" Text="Upload"/> </form> A LinkButton activates the fade in jQuery via $("#lnkDocumentUpload").click(function() { centerPopup(); loadPopup(); });

• Dynamically created controls and the ASP.NET page lifecycle

  I'm working on an ASP.NET project in which the vast majority of the forms are generated dynamically at run time (form definitions are stored in a DB for customizability). Therefore, I have to dynamically create and add my controls to the Page every time OnLoad fires, regardless of IsPostBack. This has been working just fine and .NET takes care of managing ViewState for these controls. protected override void OnLoad(EventArgs e) { base.OnLoad(e); RenderDynamicControls() } private void RenderDynamicControls(){ //1. call service layer to retrieve form definition //2. create and add controls to page container } I have a new requirement in which if a user clicks on a given button (this button is created at design time) the page should be re-rendered in a slightly different way. It seems beyond hacky to effectively render the form twice simply to respond to a button click. I gather from my research that this is simply how the page-lifecycle works in ASP.NET: Namely, that OnLoad must fire on every Postback before child events are invoked. Still, it's worthwhile to check with the SO community before having to drink the kool-aid. On a related note, once I get this feature completed, I'm planning on throwing an UpdatePanel on the page to perform the page updates via Ajax. • Why am I having this InstantiationException in Java when accessing final local variables?

  I was playing with some code to make a "closure like" construct ( not working btw ) Everything looked fine but when I tried to access a final local variable in the code, the exception InstantiationException is thrown. If I remove the access to the local variable either by removing it altogether or by making it class attribute instead, no exception happens. The doc says: InstantiationException Thrown when an application tries to create an instance of a class using the newInstance method in class Class, but the specified class object cannot be instantiated. The instantiation can fail for a variety of reasons including but not limited to: - the class object represents an abstract class, an interface, an array class, a primitive type, or void - the class has no nullary constructor What other reason could have caused this problem? • Android - Temporal & Ancestral Navigation with ViewPager & Fragments

  I'm trying to work out the best way to implement the 'ancestral' and 'temporal' navigation (utilising the up button and back buttons), for a music player I'm working on. Currently, the user is presented with a viewpager, and can page between three main fragments (ArtistMain, AlbumMain and SongMain). Upon choosing an item inside that view, a fragment transaction occurs, and the viewpager goes out of view, replaced by a new fragment (AlbumSub, Songsub or player, depending on where the user came from). The user can then navigate deeper, until a song is chosen, and then they are taken to the 'player' screen. I guess the question is: How do I implement all of this conditional navigation? I'm fairly new to android and programming in general, and I just can't seem to come up with an efficient way to achieve this. At the moment, as each fragment is brought into view, the app is checking to see where the user just came from, and then determines where the user should be taken if back or home is called. This means I have a booleans like "fromArtistMain", "fromAlbumSub", and I'm checking for things like "fromSongSub && fromPlayer".. it's all turning into a bit of a mess. I've drawn a diagram (in paint, sorry!!), to depict the navigation I'm trying to achieve. The yellow represents the 'up' button press, the red is the 'back' button press, and blue is just normal navigation. The green arrows are meant to represent the view paging: Any advice is welcome. It might take something really simple that I've just overlooked. Thanks for your time.

• JQuery object expected error when accessing page via url routing.

• WPF RadioButton selected in UI, but seen by code as IsChecked == false

  I have some radio buttons in a group box. I select the buttons randomly, and all works perfectly from a visual standpoint and also the event handler is called each time a new button is selected. Now I have a dependency property with a callback when the value changes. When in this callback procedure I read the IsChecked value of any button, the value is False, in spite the button is visually selected (they are all false at the same time, strange). The debugger also displays all buttons unchecked. • after .htaccess url rewrite, cannot perform logoff in some of the url rewrited page

  Recently, I was doing .htaccess url rewrite, make all my php url into html, in some page, the logout button wont work properly. for example, in page ‘quotedetails/Q9999.html’ (rewrited from ‘quotedetails.php?quoteID=Q9999'), when I click logout button in this page, it wont do the trick, but when i use the old php url of this page, it works again, other rewrited pages like index.html (index.php), search.html(search.php), all works perfectly. I use firebug to debug, after I click the logout button, it stays in the same page without redirect me to the index.html, but I saw the the ‘logoff’ params has been passed through, but just dont let me logout and redirect to index page. I’ve changed all the relavent file path to absolute path, still no luck…..help please. I’ve also noticed from firebug, that page cannot get the redirect ‘location’ as I tried in other pages, their response headers come with ‘location: index.html’, but in that no-workin-page, there is no such line called ‘location: index.html’ in its response headers. • Telerik window automatically opens after every page refresh

  I am using Telerik RadControls in my project and and have a menu where I have an 'About' button. When I click the 'About' button a window pops up describing the application. The problem is if I refresh the page or navigate to another page then back to the first page the window automatically pops up. • Have to click twice to submit the form in IE8

  A very peculiar bug in a simple html form. After changing an option, button has to be clicked twice to submit the form. Button is focused after clicking once, but form is not submitted. It's only this way in IE8 and works fine in Chrome and FF. PAY ATTENTION TO 'g^' right before <select>. It has to be a letter or number followed by a symbol to generate this bug. For example, 'a#','f$','3(' all create the same bug. Otherwise it works fine. BTW, if you don't change option and click button right away,there won't be any bug. • Change the playback rate of a track in real time on Android

  Hello, I would like to know if somebody knows a library to changing the playback rate of a track in real time. My idea is to load a track and change its playback rate to half or double. Firstly, I tried with MusicPlayer but is was not possible at all and then I tried with SoundPool. The problem is that with SoundPool I can´t change the rate once the track is loaded. However, when you click the button the a:hover style remains until I click on something else. How would I fix this and why is this happening? Please write 3 querys one which return all three record on current date, next all 3 records must be incremented by 1 on every next button click finally all 3 records must be decremented by 1 on every previous button click keep last day and begining date on the month in minds else i have also achieved for middle of month. Running query but returns 33 records instead of 3. The idea is this: If a User has Excel Open, if he has the file I'm interested in open... get that Excel instance and do whatever I want to do... But I don't to close his File after I'm done... I want him to keep working on it, the problem is that when he closes Excel... The process keeps running... and running... and running after the user closes Excel with the X button... this is how I try to do it This piece is used to know if he has Excel open, and in the For I check for the file name I'm interested in. • Correct Delphi compiler switches to stop in the user's code, not my component's

  I'm modifying our VCL components so the end user's application links to our dcu files, instead of building our source code each time. We have everything working, but I want the debugger to stop on the user's code when an exception is raised. At first it would stop in our dcu and open the CPU window. I was able to prevent that by removing debug info from the dcu files. But now it still doesn't stop in the users code (like DevExpress libraries and others do). The following screencast is a short example. The first time I cause an exception in the DevExpress code, and the debugger correctly stops in my button event. The second time I cause an exception in my components, but the debugger doesn't have my button event on the call stack, and doesn't show me where the problem was. Any ideas why? http://screencast.com/t/NjhlOTRk Currently building the DCU's with these options: -$W+ -$D- -h -w -q Update: The TDataSet methods in between my component and the button event seem to cause this behavior. If I instead call a direct method of my table, I get the expected behavior. I'm guessing there isn't anything I can do about this, but I'm still curious why it happens.

  I have a security number generator device, small enough to go on a key-ring, which has a six digit LCD display and a button. After I have entered my account name and password on an online form, I press the button on the security device and enter the security code number which is displayed. I get a different number every time I press the button and the number generator has a serial number on the back which I had to input during the account set-up procedure. I would like to incorporate similar functionality in my website. As far as I understand, these are the main components: Generate a unique N digit aplha-numeric sequence during registration and assign to user (permanently) Allow user to generate an N (or M?) digit aplha-numeric sequence remotely For now, I dont care about the hardware side, I am only interested in knowing how I may choose a suitable algorithm that will allow the user to generate an N (or M?) long aplha-numeric sequence - presumably, using his unique ID as a seed Identify the user from the number generated in step 2 (which decryption method is the most robust to do this?) I have the following questions: Have I identified all the steps required in such an authentication system?, if not please point out what I have missed and why it is important What are the most robust encryption/decryption algorithms I can use for steps 1 through 3 (preferably using 64bits)?

Now, I would assume that this would or should happen: Page loads the first time, the None radio button is checked / defaulted I go and select a different radiobutton in this radiobutton list I do an F5 refresh in my browser The None radio button is pre-selected again after it has come back from the refresh but #4 is not happening. It's retaining the radiobutton that I selected in #2 and I don't know why. I mean in regular HTML it's stateless. So what could be holding this value? I want this to act like a normal input button. I know the question of "why not use an ASP.NET control" will come up. Well there are 2 reasons: The stupid radiobuttonlist bug that everyone knows about I just want to brush up more on standard input tags We are not moving to MVC so this is as close as I'll get and it's ok, because the rest of the team is on par with having mixed ASP.NET controls with standard HTML controls in our pages Anyway my main question here is I'm surprised that it's retaining the change in selection after postback.

• R : remove columns from dataframe where ALL values are NA

  hello everybody! I'm having some trouble with my huge data frame and couldn't really resolve that question myself: The dataframe has some properties as columns and each row represents one data set. I've done some sanatizing to this dataframe (e.g. get rid of datasets which are not to be included in evaluation). (Whoever might be interested: Beforehand I aggregate around 5000 single text files and put them in a tsv, some of the proerties have a sequence number like "button.pressed.1" ... ""button.pressed.n". Some of the sets excluded had really high numbers for n but got excluded, all sets left have much smaller numbers for n but the property "button.presed.50" is still there and all remaining sets have an NA in that column. Actually its a different property but the example should clarify my intention...) So the question is quite simple (for some sophisticated R pro): I need to get rid of columns where for ALL rows the value is NA. Could someone please help me out? (All I have managed to get rid of columns where at least one NA exists which dropped about half my columns)...

• UIButton only responds in a small area

  I'm trying to add a UIButton to a UIView, but am having some trouble with getting it to respond to touches. I have a method which returns UIButtons after I provide it with a tag: - (UIButton*)niceSizeButtonWithTag:(int)tag { UIButton * aButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; [aButton setTag:tag]; [aButton addTarget:self action:@selector(buttonWasTapped:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; CGRect newFrame = aButton.frame; newFrame.size.width = 44; newFrame.size.height = 44; [aButton setFrame:newFrame]; return aButton; } As you can see I'm creating a new button and increasing the size. I use this in the following way: UIButton * anotherButton = [self niceSizeButtonWithTag:1]; [anotherButton setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"image" withExtension:@"png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [anotherButton setCenter:CGPointMake(middleOfView)]; [aView addSubview:anotherButton]; I create a lot of buttons like this, hence the reason for the method. The buttons are always created and added to the subview perfectly. I can see the image and they're in the correct position. The problem is that they only respond to touches in a tiny strip. In this attached image, The yellow shows the whole frame of the button, The red shows the area that will respond to touches. The grey shows a section of the view the button is added to. If anyone could shed some light on why this is happening, it would be really useful.
