• Noob Objective-C/C++ - Linker Problem/Function Def Problem

  There is a static class Pipe, defined in C++ header that I'm including. The function I'm interested in calling (from Objetive-c) is here: static ERC SendUserGet(const UserId &_idUser,const GUID &_idStyle,const ZoneId &_idZone,const char *_pszMsg); I have access to an objetive-c data structure that appears to store a copy of userID, and zoneID -- it looks like: @interface DataBlock : NSObject { GUID userID; GUID zoneID; } Looked up the GUID def, and its a struct with a bunch of overloaded operators for equality. UserId and ZoneId from the first function signature are #typedef GUID Now when I try to call the function, no matter how I cast it (const UserId), (UserId), etc, I get the following linker error: "Pipe::SendUserGet(_GUID const&, _GUID const&, _GUID const&, char const*)", referenced from: -[PeoplePaneController clickGet:] in PeoplePaneController.o Is this a type/function signature error, or truly some sort of linker error? I have the headers where all these types and static classes are defined #imported -- I tried #include too, just in case, since I'm already stumbling :P Forgive me, I come from a web tech background, so this c-style memory management and immutability stuff is super hazy.   Hi all, I´m trying to inspect the types in a silverlight 4 assembly from a .NET 3.5 application. I have loaded the silverlight assembly with a Assembly.ReflectionOnlyLoadFrom sentence. contractsAssembly = Assembly.ReflectionOnlyLoadFrom(contractsAssemblyPath); When the .NET application tries to perform a call to GetTypes(), it throws a ReflectionTypeLoadException. Type[] types = contractsAssembly.GetTypes(); The LoaderExceptions property in the ReflectionTypeLoadException contains a list of exceptions, all of them regarding a problem loading a type that has serialization attributes. Type 'XXXX' in assembly 'YYYY' has method 'OnSerializing' with an incorrect signature for the serialization attribute that it is decorated with.   I'm having some trouble understanding Outlook terms (CommandBarPopup, CommandBarButton etc) like what is what in Outlook so please be patient. I would like to create couple of things: I would like to create new group (or just button but i read it's not possible to add a button to an existing group in ribbon) on new mail next to Signature/Add attachment in Message Ribbon. It would have to work the same way Signature works so when you press it it display couple of options. How can i create it? I would like to override a button "NEW" (where you can choose that you want to send new mail, make appointment or do other things) so that when you are in Main Window when you press the down arrow next to new button you could choose one of options i will add? Is this possible? How do I do it?   Good afternoon, I have been working on a dll that can use CORBA to communicate to an application that is network aware. The code works fine if I run it as a C++ console application. However, I have gotten stuck on exporting the methods as a dll. The methods seems to export fine, and if I call a method with no parameters then it works as expected. I'm hung up on passing a C# string to a C++ method. My C++ method header looks like this: bool __declspec(dllexport) SpiceStart(char* installPath) My C# DLL import code is as follows: [DllImportAttribute("SchemSipc.dll", CharSet=CharSet.Ansi)] private static extern bool SpiceStart(string installPath); I call the method like so: bool success = SpiceStart(@"c:\sedatools"); The call to SpiceStart throws the exception "PInvokeStackImbalance", which "is likely because the managed PInvoke signature does not match the unmanaged target signature." Does anyone have any suggestions? If I remove the char* and string from the parameters, then the method runs just fine.   Hi, I am novice to the "World of cryptography". I started working with OPENSSL. I need some information and basically I do have some doubts. I have a DER format file. I read the file using following command, "openssl x509 -inform DER -in filename.der -text" I got what I supposed to be. Following things I wanted to know: 1. What is the difference between PKCS7, DER and X509 ? (My understanding is, DER is format, X509 is certificate, and PKCS7 is the standard) I wrote a test file which accepts the DER file and outputs the version, serial number, Subject, Validity date before and Validity date after, But I am unable to get certificate verified. Following is the API Used. int i = X509_verify(X509 *x509 , X509_get_pubkey(X509 *x509)); But 'i' value is 'i' < 0(zero) This is why I am getting "Signature verification problems". How to overcome this? In My test file I am unable to read the "Signature Algorithm", "Subject Public Key Info", "X509v3 extensions" and "-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----" to "-----END CERTIFICATE-----" Please give some inputs.   We have a third-party DLL that can operate on a DataTable of source information and generate some useful values, and we're trying to hook it up through SQLCLR to be callable as a table-valued UDF in SQL Server 2008. Taking the concept here one step further, I would like to program a CLR Table-Valued Function that operates on a table of source data from the DB. I'm pretty sure I understand what needs to happen on the T-SQL side of things; but, what should the method signature look like in the .NET (C#) code? • Make an ActiveX control work without a form?

  We are using Topaz Signature pads. They provide their APIs in the from of an ActiveX control which is to be put on a Winform control. Well, the way our project will work we do not want to have a form(at least not visible). Would it just be easier to create a new hidden form and put the control on it so it's invisible?

  Hi, I have setup a Hadoop cluster containing 5 nodes on Amazon EC2. Now, when i login into the Master node and submit the following command bin/hadoop jar <program>.jar <arg1> <arg2> <path/to/input/file/on/S3> It throws the following errors (not at the same time.) The first error is thrown when i don't replace the slashes with '%2F' and the second is thrown when i replace them with '%2F': 1) Java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid hostname in URI S3://<ID>:<SECRETKEY>@<BUCKET>/<path-to-inputfile> 2) org.apache.hadoop.fs.S3.S3Exception: org.jets3t.service.S3ServiceException: S3 PUT failed for '/' XML Error Message: The request signature we calculated does not match the signature you provided. check your key and signing method. Note: 1)when i submitted jps to see what tasks were running on the Master, it just showed 1116 NameNode 1699 Jps 1180 JobTracker leaving DataNode and TaskTracker. 2)My Secret key contains two '/' (forward slashes). And i replace them with '%2F' in the S3 URI. PS: The program runs fine on EC2 when run on a single node. Its only when i launch a cluster, i run into issues related to copying data to/from S3 from/to HDFS. And, what does distcp do? Do i need to distribute the data even after i copy the data from S3 to HDFS?(I thought, HDFS took care of that internally) IF you could direct me to a link that explains running Map/reduce programs on a hadoop cluster using Amazon EC2/S3. The reason of using a temporary table is that I don't want to store the data permanently so different users can modify it at the same time. That data is just stored for a second, so I think a temporary table is the best approach for this.   The problem is very simple. An object needs to notify some events that might be of interest to observers. When I sat to validate a design that I cooked up now in Ruby just to validate it.. I find myself stumped as to how to implement the object events. • My Website was hacked using Statcounter! Does Statcounter keep a record of cookies?

  I had a rather interesting case of hacking on my ASP.Net MVC website. For this website I had implemented a rather uncomplicated authentication system for my admin area -- an encrypted cookie which had an identifying signature for the member. Whenever the admin visits the website the cookie would be decrypted and signature verified. If matching he wouldn't have to sign in. Couple of days ago a visitor on my site told me that he was able to sign into my website simply by clicking no a referral link on his Statcounter console which pointed to my admin area (I had visited his site from a link inside my admin view). He just clicked on a link in statcounter and he was signed in as the admin! The only way this could have happened was if statcounter somehow recorded my cookies and used those when he clicked on the link pointing to my admin! Is that logical or fathomable? I don't understand what's going on. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can protect my website against things like this?

But why the following produces very similar error to the one above?   I just switched from storing my images uploaded via Carrierwave locally to using Amazon s3 via the fog gem in my Rails 3.1 app. While images are being added, when I click on an image in my application, the URL is providing my access key and a signature. Here is a sample URL (XXX replaced the string with the info): https://s3.amazonaws.com/bucketname/uploads/photo/image/2/IMG_4842.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=XXX&Signature=XXX%3D&Expires=1332093418 This is happening in development (localhost:3000) and when I am using heroku for production.   I'm a bit boggled by something, I hope the CLR gearheads can help. Apparently my gears aren't big enough. I have a reflector utility that generates assembly stubs for Cola for .NET, and I find classes have methods that only differ by a modifier, such as virtual. Any idea how to fix it?
