  • Can I add a portrait layout on top of a landscape Camera SurfaceView?

    - by Uwe Krass
    My application should hold a camera preview surface. The camera is fixed to landscape view via AndroidMainfest.xml <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="Camera"> <uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps" /> <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.camera" /> <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.camera.autofocus" /> <activity android:name=".CameraPreview" android:label="Camera" android:screenOrientation="landscape"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> </application> If there is another way to get the camera preview itself to behave correctly, please let me know. Now I need to have an overlay that holds a bunch of buttons. Due to usability, the user interface should be set to portrait view (or even better orientation aware). Is there a way to have a transparent layout (for buttons and other GUI elements) in portrait orientation? I tried to write a special rotated layout by extending a RelativeLayout, but the onDraw method isn't called at anytime. public class RotatedOverlay extends RelativeLayout { private static final String TAG = "RotatedOverlay"; public RotatedOverlay(Context context, AttributeSet attrs ) { super(context, attrs); } @Override protected void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { canvas.rotate(90); super.onDraw(canvas); } I am quite new to the Android plattform programming. Of course I dont know much about the programming tricks and workarounds yet. I did a lot of research over the last two weeks (even studied the native Camera implementation), but couldnt find a good solution so far. Maybe it works with two seperate Activities, but I dont think, that this can the right solution.

  • Catch FileNotFoundException in AsyncTask method

    - by Musterknabe
    I'm getting the favicon of a website with a method. Of course not every website has a favicon. So I want to catch it. The app doesn't crash if the website doesn't have a favicon but I still get an FileNotFoundException in the LogCat. The problem I'm encountering is that I can't catch it When I add `catch (FileNotFoundException f) to my try-catch block it tells me Unreachable catch block for FileNotFoundException. This exception is never thrown from the try statement body. The options I have is to remove it or to add a throws declaration to the doInBackground-method. The latter is not possible. This is the whole Try-Catch try{ String baseURL = getBaseURL ( sourceURLArr[i] ); System.out.println(baseURL + "/favicon.ico"); Bitmap favicon = getBitmapFromURL( baseURL + "/favicon.ico"); Drawable fv = new BitmapDrawable(getResources(), Bitmap.createScaledBitmap(favicon, 20, 20, true)); source [i].setCompoundDrawablesWithIntrinsicBounds(fv, null, null, null); } catch(NullPointerException e){ } catch(FileNotFoundException f){ } I already tried to switch the FileNotFoundException with the NullPointerException but it was the same error. When I add the throws to the asynctask do in background method I get Exception FileNotFoundException is not compatible with throws clause in AsyncTask<Void,Void,Void>.doInBackground(Void[]) How can I now catch the FileNotFoundException?

  • how to handle onclick event of button inside popup window in android

    - by henna
    In my application i have a button initially on the screen and in onclick of the button ,popup window should open. In the popup window i have an imagebutton , now on click of this button i want to start an activity. The popup window opens but i dont understand how to handle the onclick of the imagebtn inside popup window. In main.xml i have a button and in popup_example.xml i have an imagebutton. Hi my Java code is as follows: final LayoutInflater inflater = (LayoutInflater)this.getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE); final Button b=(Button)findViewById(R.id.btn); b.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { PopupWindow pw = new PopupWindow(inflater.inflate(R.layout.popup_example,(ViewGroup)findViewById(R.layout.main))); pw.showAtLocation(v, Gravity.LEFT,0,0); pw.update(8,-70,150,270); //if onclick written here, it gives null pointer exception. ImageButton img=(ImageButton)findViewById(R.id.home); img.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { Intent..... } }); //if onclick is written here it gives runtime exception. }); and i have two xml layouts.........1)main.xml 2)popup_example.xml main.xml popup_example.xml <ImageButton android:id="@+id/home" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:focusable="true" android:src="@drawable/vitalss" android:layout_weight="1" android:background="#8E2323" />

  • Is there a difference between starting an application from the OS or from adb

    - by aruwen
    I do have a curious error in my application. My app crashes (don't mind the crash, I roughly know why - classloader) when I start the application from the OS directly, then kill it from the background via any Task Killer (this is one of the few ways to reproduce the crash consistently - simulating the OS freeing memory and closing the application) and try to restart it again. The thing is, if I start the application via adb shell using the following command: adb shell am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.my.packagename/myLaunchActivity I cannot reproduce the crash. So is there any difference in how Android OS calls the application as opposed to the above call? EDIT: added the manifest (just changed names) <?xml version="1.0" ?> <manifest android:versionCode="5" android:versionName="1.05" package="com.my.sample" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7"/> <application android:icon="@drawable/square_my_logo" android:label="@string/app_name"> <activity android:label="@string/app_name" android:name="com.my.InfoActivity" android:screenOrientation="landscape"></activity> <activity android:label="@string/app_name" android:name="com.my2.KickStart" android:screenOrientation="landscape"/> <activity android:label="@string/app_name" android:name="com.my2.Launcher" android:screenOrientation="landscape"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN"/> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER"/> </intent-filter> </activity> </application> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"/> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE"/></manifest> starting the com.my2.Launcher from the adb shell

  • How to Use border as an image in android xml

    - by Ethan Hunt
    I have a popup to show in my xml. It should have a border. Following is the code:- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/rl_parent" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:paddingBottom="20dp" > <RelativeLayout android:id="@+id/rl_startpopup" android:layout_width="340dp" android:layout_height="320dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:background="@drawable/popup_outline" android:orientation="vertical" /> </RelativeLayout> The popup_outline is a shape <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <shape xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:shape="rectangle" > <gradient android:angle="270" android:endColor="#192423" android:startColor="#4a7669" android:type="linear" /> <corners android:radius="8dp" /> <stroke android:width="2dp" android:color="#e4f4d3" /> </shape> here is the image of the popup:- This "popup_outline" is the white border shown.   • can someone help me with why my OnClickListener won't work? Android

  • Newbie: Render RGB to GTK widget -- howto?

    - by Billy Pilgrim
    Hi All, Big picture: I want to render an RGB image via GTK on a linux box. I'm a frustrated GTK newbie, so please forgive me. I assume that I should create a Drawable_area in which to render the image -- correct? Do I then have to create a graphics context attached to that area? How? my simple app (which doesn't even address the rgb issue yet is this: int main(int argc, char** argv) { GdkGC * gc = NULL; GtkWidget * window = NULL; GtkDrawingArea * dpage = NULL; GtkWidget * page = NULL; gtk_init( &argc, & argv ); window = gtk_window_new( GTK_WINDOW_TOPLEVEL ); page = gtk_drawing_area_new( ); dpage = GTK_DRAWING_AREA( page ); gtk_widget_set_size_request( page, PAGE_WIDTH, PAGE_HEIGHT ); gc = gdk_gc_new( GTK_DRAWABLE( dpage ) ); gtk_widget_show( window ); gtk_main(); return (EXIT_SUCCESS); } my dpage is apparently not a 'drawable' (though it is a drawing area). I am confused as to a) how do I get/create the graphics context which is required in subsequent function calls? b) am I close to a solution, or am I so completely *#&@& wrong that there is no hope c) a baby steps tutorial. (I started with hello world as my base, so I got that far). any and all help appreciated. bp

  • Android: Help with tabs view

    - by James
    So I'm trying to build a tabs view for an Android app, and for some reason I get a force close every time I try to run it on the emulator. When I run the examples, everything shows fine, so I went as far as to just about copy most of the layout from the examples(a mix of Tabs2.java and Tabs3.java), but for some reason it still wont run, any ideas? Here is my code(List1.class is a copy from the examples for testing purposes). It all compiles fine, just gets a force close the second it starts: package com.jvavrik.gcm; import android.app.TabActivity; import android.content.Intent; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.widget.TabHost; import android.widget.TextView; public class GCM extends TabActivity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); final TabHost tabHost = getTabHost(); tabHost.addTab(tabHost.newTabSpec("tab1") .setIndicator("g", getResources().getDrawable(R.drawable.star_big_on)) .setContent(new Intent(this, List1.class))); tabHost.addTab(tabHost.newTabSpec("tab2") .setIndicator("C") .setContent(new Intent(this, List1.class)) ); tabHost.addTab(tabHost.newTabSpec("tab3") .setIndicator("S") .setContent(new Intent(this, List1.class)) ); tabHost.addTab(tabHost.newTabSpec("tab4") .setIndicator("A") .setContent(new Intent(this, List1.class)) ); } }

  • Why doesn't setting clearTaskOnLaunch="true" cause OnCreate to be called?

    - by cbrauer
    My application works fine, once it is initialized in the OnCreate method of my View class. However, when I open my app after the Droid phone has been sitting idle all night, the OnCreate method is not being called. I use the OnCreate to initialize data, and that in turn initializes the GUI. The GUI clearly shows that OnCreate was not called. I tried setting clearTaskOnLaunch="true" in my Manifest. My Manifest is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.hedgetools.trin" android:versionCode="2" android:versionName="1.02"> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name" android:clearTaskOnLaunch="true"> <activity android:name=".Trin" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> </application> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="6" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" /> </manifest> This did not help. My OnCreate method is not being call after the Droid phone sits idle all night. Why doesn’t clearTaskOnLaunch cause OnCreate to be called? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. • How do I start a service which is defined in a different package?

    - by Brad Hein
    I have two apps, one runs in namespace com.gtosoft.voyager and the other is com.gtosoft.dash. From com.gtosoft.dash I would like to start up the service which is defined in com.gtosoft.voyager... I think I need an intent, but what arg(s) would I pass to the intent before kicking it off with startService()? If they were in the same package I could just use Intent svc=new Intent (SettingsActivity.this,VoyagerService.class); startService(svc); Snippet of Manifest which defines the service <application android:icon="@drawable/voyagercarlogo" android:label="@string/app_name" android:debuggable="false"> <provider android:name="com.gtosoft.voyager.VoyagerCProvider" android:authorities="com.gtosoft.voyager"/> <service android:name=".VoyagerService"/> <activity android:name=".SettingsActivity" android:label="Voyager" android:configChanges="keyboardHidden|orientation"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity>

  • Updating an application OTA

    - by Bostjan
    I'm developing an application that will be available from a website (market probably as well). The problem I'm having at the moment is how to handle the updates to the app. I know how to check the version against the current one and I know if I need to update it. Question is...how? Is there a way I can download an APK from the website and start the install process? The user will have to confirm of course, but I just want to be able to start it for him. At the moment I'm doing this: private void doUpgrade() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub Builder builder = new AlertDialog.Builder(this); builder.setTitle(getString(R.string.upgrade)); builder.setIcon(R.drawable.help); builder.setMessage(getString(R.string.needUpgrade)); builder.setPositiveButton(getString(R.string.ok), new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int which) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub Map<String, String> data = new HashMap<String, String>(); try { HttpResponse re = Registration.doPost("http://www.android-town.com/appRelease/AndroidTown.apk",data); int statusCode = re.getStatusLine().getStatusCode(); closeApp(); } catch (ClientProtocolException e) { e.printStackTrace(); Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), getString(R.string.noURLAccess), Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); closeApp(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), getString(R.string.noURLAccess), Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); closeApp(); } } }); builder.setNegativeButton(getString(R.string.cancel), new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int which) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub dialog.cancel(); closeApp(); } }); builder.show(); } But it doesn't really do anything...should I open a webView with the URL? A new runnable thread? Any other way? Please help :) Cheers

  • How to start animation when I'm pressing on item of ListView?

    - by Ares
    I want to implement next functional: When I'm tapping on ListView's item, it's turning into red color. If I release it has to reverse color back. I made transition drawable and set it as item's background. I tried to implement SimpleGestureListener and started animation on onDown and reversed it on onSingleTapUp events, but it doesn't give me any results (works fine, but items don't turn into red). If I return super.onDown (not true), the onLongPress raise every time(even I manage to release it). @Override public boolean onDown(MotionEvent e) { if(_currentRow.getTag()!=null) if(_currentRow.getTag().toString().equals("anim")) _currentRow.setBackgroundDrawable(context.getResources() .getDrawable(R.xml.listviewitem_yellow_red)); _drawable = (TransitionDrawable) _currentRow.getBackground(); _drawable.startTransition(500); return true; //super.onDown(e); // IF I UNCOMMENT IT TURNS INTO RED, BUT TRIGGERED onLongClick event!!! } @Override public boolean onSingleTapUp(MotionEvent e) { if(_drawable!=null){ _drawable.reverseTransition(500); } return super.onSingleTapUp(e); } @Override public void onLongPress(MotionEvent e) { if(getLongClickListener()!=null) getLongClickListener().onLongClick(_currentRow, _object); super.onLongPress(e); } If someone knows how to solve this problem, please help me.

  • Dice Emulation - ImageView

    - by Michelle Harris
    I am trying to emulate dice using ImageView. When I click the button, nothing seems to happen. I have hard coded this example to replace the image with imageView4 for debugging purposes (I was making sure the random wasn't fail). Can anyone point out what I am doing wrong? I am new to Java, Eclipse and Android so I'm sure I've probably made more than one mistake. Java: import java.util.Random; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.widget.ArrayAdapter; import android.widget.ImageView; import android.widget.Spinner; import android.widget.Toast; public class Yahtzee4Activity extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); Spinner s = (Spinner) findViewById(R.id.spinner); ArrayAdapter adapter = ArrayAdapter.createFromResource( this, R.array.score_types, android.R.layout.simple_spinner_dropdown_item); adapter.setDropDownViewResource(android.R.layout.simple_spinner_dropdown_item); s.setAdapter(adapter); } public void onMyButtonClick(View view) { ImageView imageView1 = new ImageView(this); Random rand = new Random(); int rndInt = 4; //rand.nextInt(6) + 1; // n = the number of images, that start at index 1 String imgName = "die" + rndInt; int id = getResources().getIdentifier(imgName, "drawable", getPackageName()); imageView1.setImageResource(id); } } XML for the button: <Button android:id="@+id/button_roll" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="@string/roll" android:onClick="onMyButtonClick" />

  • Spinner original text

    - by user1696863
    I'm trying my Spinner to display "Select City" before the Spinner has itself been clicked by the user. How can I do this? My current XML code is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:custom="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/com.olacabs.customer" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:background="@drawable/page_background" android:orientation="vertical" > <TextView android:id="@+id/textView1" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:background="@android:color/darker_gray" android:gravity="center" android:paddingBottom="4dp" android:paddingTop="4dp" android:text="@string/rate_card" android:textColor="@color/white" android:textSize="20dp" custom:customFont="litera_bold.ttf" /> <Spinner android:id="@+id/select_city" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginTop="40dp" android:prompt="@string/selectCity" /> </LinearLayout> Also, what does android:spinnerMode exactly do. I tried changing its value to dropdown but nothing happened and the application still showed a popup dialogue. My activity that implements this XML file is: public class RateCardActivity extends OlaActivity { public void onCreate(Bundle bundle) { super.onCreate(bundle); setContentView(R.layout.rate_card); Spinner spinner = (Spinner) findViewById(R.id.select_city); ArrayAdapter<CharSequence> adapter = ArrayAdapter.createFromResource(this, R.array.select_city, android.R.layout.simple_spinner_item); adapter.setDropDownViewResource(android.R.layout.simple_spinner_dropdown_item); spinner.setAdapter(adapter); } }

  • Android Service setForeground While Display Sleeps

    - by c12
    I have a background Android Service that's purpose is to communicate with another device (non-phone) using a Bluetooth socket. Everything works fine except that the service gets stopped and restarted by the OS when the phone display is sleeping. This restart sometimes leaves a 15-20 minute gaps where there is no communication between the Service and the Bluetooth device and I need to be able to query the device every minute. Is startForeground the proper approach? Attempted to use: startForeground(int, Notification) //still see gaps when phone sleeps Service: public class ForegroundBluetoothService extends Service{ private boolean isStarted = false; @Override public void onDestroy() { super.onDestroy(); stop(); } /** * @see android.app.Service#onBind(android.content.Intent) */ @Override public IBinder onBind(Intent intent) { return null; } /** * @see android.app.Service#onStartCommand(android.content.Intent, int, int) */ @Override public int onStartCommand(Intent intent, int flags, int startId) { loadServiceInForeground(); return(START_STICKY); } private void loadServiceInForeground() { if (!isStarted) { isStarted=true; Notification notification = new Notification(R.drawable.icon, "Service is Running...", System.currentTimeMillis()); Intent notificationIntent = new Intent(this, MainScreen.class); PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, notificationIntent, 0); notification.setLatestEventInfo(this, "Notification Title", "Service is Running...", pendingIntent); startForeground(12345, notification); try{ queryTheBluetoothDevice(); } catch(Exception ex){ ex.printStackTrace(); } } } private void stop() { if (isStarted) { isStarted=false; stopForeground(true); } } }

  • OnClickListener cannot be resolved to a type

This code is based off of the notification documentation here, and UI events documentation here package com.example.contactwidget; import android.app.Activity; import android.app.Notification; import android.app.NotificationManager; import android.app.PendingIntent; import android.content.Context; import android.content.Intent; import android.os.Bundle; import android.widget.Button; public class ContactWidget extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); Button calc1 = (Button) findViewById(R.id.calc_button_1); calc1.setOnClickListener(buttonListener); setContentView(R.layout.main); } private static final int HELLO_ID = 1; //Error: OnClickListener cannot be resolved to a type private OnClickListener buttonListener = new OnClickListener() { public void onClick (View v) { String ns = Context.NOTIFICATION_SERVICE; NotificationManager mNotificationManager = (NotificationManager) getSystemService(ns); int icon = R.drawable.icon; CharSequence ticketBrief = "Button Pressed Brief"; CharSequence ticketTitle = "Button pressed"; CharSequence ticketText = "You pressed button 1"; long when = System.currentTimeMillis(); Notification notification = new Notification(icon, ticketBrief, when); Intent notificationIntent = new Intent(this, ContactWidget.class); PendingIntent contentIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, notificationIntent, 0); notification.setLatestEventInfo(getApplicationContext(), ticketTitle, ticketText, contentIntent); mNotificationManager.notify(HELLO_ID, notification); } } } I'm running into a problem: OnClickListener cannot be resolved to a type. The problem here is that I don't see any problems with my code in relation to the example I'm using

  • Error in Android's clearCheck() for RadioGroup?

    - by Manuel R. Ciosici
    I'm having an issue with RadioGroup's clearChecked(). I'm displaying a multiple choice question to the user and after the user selects an answer I check the answer, give him some feedback and then move to the next question. In the process of moving to the next question I clearCheck on the RadioGroup. Can anyone explain to me why the onCheckedChanged method is called 3 times? Once when the change actually occurs (with the user changes), once when I clearCheck(with -1 as the selected id) and once in between (with the user changes again)? As far as I could tell the second trigger is provoked by clearCheck. Code below: private void checkAnswer(RadioGroup group, int checkedId){ // this makes sure it doesn't blow up when the check is cleared // also we don't check the answer when there is no answer if (checkedId == -1) return; if (group.getCheckedRadioButtonId() == -1) return; // check if correct answer if (checkedId == validAnswerId){ score++; this.giveFeedBack(feedBackType.GOOD); } else { this.giveFeedBack(feedBackType.BAD); } // allow for user to see feedback and move to next question h.postDelayed(this, 800); } private void changeToQuestion(int questionNumber){ if (questionNumber >= this.questionSet.size()){ // means we are past the question set // we're going to the score activity this.goToScoreActivity(); return; } //clearing the check gr.clearCheck(); // give change the feedback back to question imgFeedback.setImageResource(R.drawable.question_mark); //OTHER CODE HERE } and the run method looks like this public void run() { questionNumber++; changeToQuestion(questionNumber); }

  • Layout: how to make image to change its width and height proportionally?

    - by Exterminator13
    I have such layout: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal"> <TextView android:id="@+id/title" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" android:layout_centerVertical="true" android:layout_toLeftOf="@+id/my_image" android:ellipsize="end" android:singleLine="true" android:text="Some text" android:textAppearance="?android:attr/textAppearanceMedium" /> <ImageView android:id="@+id/my_image" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignTop="@+id/title" android:layout_alignBottom="@+id/title" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_centerVertical="true" android:adjustViewBounds="true" android:src="@drawable/my_bitmap_image" /> This layout does almost what I need: it makes image view height the same as text view. The image graphic contents stretched also keeping aspect ratio. But, the width of the image view does not change! As a result, I have a wide gap between text and the image view! As a temporal solution, I override View#onLayout. The question: how to change image width in xml layout? UPDATE: This is a final layout I need (text + a few images). Look at the first image: its width should be exactly the same as scaled image in it with no paddings and margins:

  • setImageViewResource Sometimes loads image and sometimes it doesn't.

    - by Niv
    Hi All, I'm writing a simple widget which has an imageview widget that is supposed to load an image dynamically. To do this, I'm starting a service in the onUpdate method of the service. I validated that the service is running, however, the image is loaded only once every 10 times. Here is the code: (In the Original extends AppWidgetProvider) @Override public void onUpdate(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds) { Log.d(LOG_TAG, "onUpdate(): Starting Service..1"); context.startService(new Intent(context, UpdateService.class)); } (The service:) @Override public void onStart(Intent intent, int startId) { Log.d(LOG_TAG, "(OnStart) In On Start..!"); AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager = AppWidgetManager.getInstance(this); int[] appWidgetIds = appWidgetManager.getAppWidgetIds(new ComponentName(this, Original.class)); for (int appWidgetId : appWidgetIds) { RemoteViews remoteView = new RemoteViews(this.getPackageName(), R.layout.widget); remoteView.setImageViewResource(R.id.widgetImage, R.drawable.let02); remoteView.setTextViewText(R.id.widget_textview_month, "aaa"); Log.d(LOG_TAG, "(OnUpdate) Set All Fields!"); appWidgetManager.updateAppWidget(appWidgetId, remoteView); } //super.onStart(intent, startId); return; }
