    I've migrated Reporting Services on a SCOM 2007 R2 install, and noticed that the reports have not being copied. I can create a new report, but the ones I've had because of the management packs are gone. I've tried re-applying the Management Packs however it doesn't re-deploy them and when I try to access for example: Monitoring - Microsoft Windows Print Server - Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and 2003 Print Services - State View - select any item and click Alerts on the right menu. I get the following error: Date: 12/24/2010 12:40:35 PM Application: System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 Application Version: 6.1.7221.0 Severity: Error Message: Cannot initialize report. Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms.ReportServerException: The item '/Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.Report.Library/Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.Report.Alert' cannot be found. (rsItemNotFound) at Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms.ServerReport.GetExecutionInfo() at Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms.ServerReport.GetParameters() at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Mom.Internal.UI.Reporting.Parameters.ReportParameterBlock.Initialize(ServerReport serverReport) at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Mom.Internal.UI.Console.ReportForm.SetReportJob(Object sender, ConsoleJobEventArgs args) The report doesn't exist on the reporting services side. how do I re-deploy this reports?     I've installed SQL Server 2005 with Reporting Services on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and when I try to configure it when clicking on "Windows Service Identity" I get this error message: There was an error while switching panels. The most likely cause is an error retrieving WMI properties. The exception details are: InvalidArgument=Value of '1' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'. Parameter name: SelectedIndex Here is a screenshot: EDIT: This problem disappeared after I installed SP3 for SQL Server. I have problems on the next panes though.

  • How do I repair the corrupted files found by sfc /scannow? "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them."

    After running chkdsk C: /F /R and finding out that my hard disk has 24 KB in bad sectors (log is posted below), I decided to run Windows 7's System File Checker utility (sfc /scannow). SFC showed the ff. message after I ran it: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log."   • Display custom file format's metadata in Windows Explorer

    When viewing a jpg or mp3 in Windows Explorer, the bottom pane shows metadata from the media file. Furthermore, for video and picture, the icon is shown as a preview of the media. Is there a way to add this kind of functionality to windows for custom file types that aren't supported by default in windows? Is there a certain sort of plugin or extension that must be written? If so, how is it implemented? Thank you.

    when "Services" opens, it's in Extended View. i prefer Standard view. i also prefer this column layout: Status | Startup Type | Log On As | Name | Description because when I expand all columns via Ctrl+(numeric keypad "+") what i need to see most i can view without being forced to scroll to the right. Problem: my preferred layout does not persist. QUESTION: how can i force Windows (2008 R2, 7, XP, et cetera) to remmember my settings? thnx / g.

    Have encountered a problem with in Reporting Services 2005 with printing and drillthrough. If I view a report in Report Manager and then Print the report then I drillthrough from the first report to a second then when I click "back" to go back to the main report the Print dialog pops up. Has anyone else encountered this before? Does anyone know of any workarounds?

  • Using a AWS EC2 Server to host a busy website and I need to set up a loadbalancing

    My company has one EC2 server running on AWS with a MYSQL-DB and Apache on the same instance. This one instance hosts a website built on PHP Zend Framework. The site runs like crap when it starts to get busy with a lot of traffic so I'm looking for some advice on how to set up something that can handle the load better. My first question is should I move the mysql DB on to a separate EC2 instance or perhaps use AWS's RDS service which looks like a nice option. I'm sort of new to some of this but I'm guessing I'll need at least two EC2 instances for serving the website from and some sort of load balancing mechanism to distribute traffic. But maybe not, I'm not sure. Also what are some best practices for how to replicate the data so that they stay in sync on both instances? Okay I know these are a lot of questions. But I don't know where to start so any advice will help.

  • Why is a small fixed vocabulary seen as an advantage to RESTful services?

    So, a RESTful service has a fixed set of verbs in its vocabulary. A RESTful web service takes these from the HTTP methods. There are some supposed advantages to defining a fixed vocabulary, but I don't really grasp the point. Maybe someone can explain it. Why is a fixed vocabulary as outlined by REST better than dynamically defining a vocabulary for each state? For example, object oriented programming is a popular paradigm. RPC is described to define fixed interfaces, but I don't know why people assume that RPC is limited by these contraints. We could dynamically specify the interface just as a RESTful service dynamically describes its content structure. REST is supposed to be advantageous in that it can grow without extending the vocabulary. RESTful services grow dynamically by adding more resources. What's so wrong about extending a service by dynamically specifying a per-object vocabulary? Why don't we just use the methods that are defined on our objects as the vocabulary and have our services describe to the client what these methods are and whether or not they have side effects? Essentially I get the feeling that the description of a server side resource structure is equivalent to the definition of a vocabulary, but we are then forced to use the limited vocabulary in which to interact with these resources. Does a fixed vocabulary really decouple the concerns of the client from the concerns of the server? I surely have to be concerned with some configuration of the server, this is normally resource location in RESTful services. To complain at the use of a dynamic vocabulary seems unfair because we have to dynamically reason how to understand this configuration in some way anyway. A RESTful service describes the transitions you are able to make by identifying object structure through hypermedia. I just don't understand what makes a fixed vocabulary any better than any self-describing dynamic vocabulary, which could easily work very well in an RPC-like service. Is this just a poor reasoning for the limiting vocabulary of the HTTP protocol?

    I have the following content in a file: hhasfghgsafjgfhgfhjf gashghfdgdfhgfhjasgfgfhsgfjdg jfshafghgfgfhfsghfgffsjgfj . . . . . startread hajshjsfhajfhjkashfjf hasjgfhgHGASFHGSHF hsafghfsaghgf . . . . . stopread . . . . . . jsfjhfhjgfsjhfgjhsajhdsa jhasjhsdabjhsagshaasgjasdhjk jkdsdsahghjdashjsfahjfsd I need to read the lines from the next line of startread till the previous line of stopread using a c code and store it to a string variable(of course with a \n for every line breaks). How can i achieve this? I have used fgets(line,sizeof(line),file); but it starts reading from the beginning. I don't have the exact line number to start and stop reading since the file is written by another C code. But there are these identifiers startread and stopread to identify whereto start reading. Operating platform is linux. Thanks in advance.

    I am trying to set up a mysql master/slave configuration in two EC2 instances. However, every time I reboot an instance, the IP address (and hostname) changes. I could assign an Elastic IP address, but would prefer to use the internal IP address. I can't be the first person to do this, but I can't seem to find a solution. There are a lot of "getting started" guides, but none of them mention how to handle changing IP addresses. So what are the best practices to manage master/slave replication in EC2?
