  • Unity view Registered Types during debug

    - by Jon Archway
Possibly a stupid question, but during debug I simply want to see the types that have been registered with my Unity container. I have tried going through the container in the watch window, but can't seem to find what I am looking for? I am expecting there to be a list of registered types somewhere? Thanks in advance

  • Blackberry - "[projectname].debug file is missing" and "I/O Error: Cannot find program "jar"

    - by TreeUK
I'm running eclipse with the Blackberry Java Plug-in, working on a 1.4.5 Blackberry project. The project has been building and debugging in the emulator normally until I started getting: A prompt saying "[projectname].debug file is missing". A message in the Blackberry Packaging Console saying "I/O Error: Cannot find program "jar": CreateProcess error=2." Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

  • Good Way to Debug Visual Studio Designer Errors

    - by Daisuke Shimamoto
Hi, Does anyone know a good way to debug errors in the Visual Studio Designer? In our project we have tons of UserControls and many complex forms. For the complex ones, the Designer often throws various exceptions which doesn't help much and was wondering if there's some nice way to figure out what has gone wrong. The language is C# and we're using Visual Studio 2005. Thanks, Daisuke

  • Works on debug but not release

    - by user146780
I have a thread that sets a value to true when it is done. Until then I wait: while(1) { if(done[0] == true) { break; } } This code works just fine in Debug but in Release it stays in the loop forever even though the debugger clearly says that it is true and not false. Why would this not work? Thanks

  • Symfony: Web debug toolbar icons disappeared

    - by Tom
Hi, Just moved a symfony project from local (win) to server (linux), and the icons in the web debug toolbar have disappeared. Only the image alts remain so I guess it's a path issue with the images. Basically, I see "Time 300ms" instead of "[icon] 300ms" for each of the items. I'm a little worried that some other paths aren't broken as well that are going to be a pain to find. Has anyone had/resolved this issue? Thank you.

  • What is Loglevel debug?

    - by Webnet
My error.log file for my site says Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace., referer: http://URL/TO/REFERER My question is, what is LogLevel? I've googled it but it seems like I'm just getting things about java. Our site is in PHP.

  • Prosody mod auth external not working

    - by Yang
I installed mod_auth_external for 0.8.2 on ubuntu 12.04 but it's not working. I have external_auth_command = "/home/yang/chat/testing" but it's not getting invoked. I enabled debug logging and see no messages from that mod. Any help? I'm using the Candy example client. • How to get rid of exceptions thrown by the .NET Framework

    - by Hans Løken
In a recent project I'm using a lot of databinding and xml-serialization. I'm using C#/VS2008 and have downloaded symbol information for the .NET framework to help me when debugging. The app I'm working on has a global "catch all" exception handler to present a more presentable messages to users if there happens to be any uncaught exceptions being thrown. My problem is when I turn on Exceptions-Thrown to be able to debug exceptions before they are caught by the "catch all". It seems to me that the framework throws a lot of exceptions that are not immediately caught (for example in ReflectPropertyDescriptor) so that the exception I'm actually trying to debug gets lost in the noise. Is there any way to get rid of exceptions caused by the framework but keep the ones from my own code? Update: after more research and actually trying to get rid of the exceptions that get thrown by the framework (many which turn out to be known issues in the framework, example: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1127431/xmlserializer-giving-filenotfoundexception-at-constructor) I finally found a solution that works for me, which is turning on "Just my code" in Tools Options Debugging General Enable Just My Code in VS2008.

  • Delphi - Why is my global variable "inacessible" when i debug

    - by Antoine Lpy
I'm building an application that contains around 30 Forms. I need to manage sessions, so I would like to have a global LoggedInUser variable accessible from all forms. I read "David Heffernan"'s post about global variables, and how to avoid them but I thought it would be easier to have a global User variable rather than 30 forms having their own User variable. So i have a unit : GlobalVars unit GlobalVars; interface uses User; // I defined my TUser class in a unit called User var LoggedInUser: TUser; implementation initialization LoggedInUser:= TUser.Create; finalization LoggedInUser.Free; end. Then in my LoginForm's LoginBtnClick procedure I do : unit FormLogin; interface uses [...],User; type TForm1 = class(TForm) [...] procedure LoginBtnClick(Sender: TObject); private { Déclarations privées } public end; var Form1: TForm1; AureliusConnection : IDBConnection; implementation {$R *.fmx} uses [...]GlobalVars; procedure TForm1.LoginBtnClick(Sender: TObject); var Manager : TObjectManager; MyCriteria: TCriteria<TUser>; u : TUser; begin Manager := TObjectManageR.Create(AureliusConnection); MyCriteria :=Manager.Find<TUtilisateur> .Add(TExpression.Eq('login',LoginEdit.Text)) .Add(TExpression.Eq('password',PasswordEdit.Text)); u := MyCriteria.UniqueResult; if u = nil then MessageDlg('Login ou mot de passe incorrect',TMsgDlgType.mtError,[TMsgDlgBtn.mbOK],0) else begin LoggedInUser:=u; //Here I assign my local User data to my global User variable Form1.Destroy; A00Form.visible:=true; end; Manager.Free; end; Then in another form I would like to access this LoggedInUser object in the Menu1BtnClick procedure : Unit C01_Deviations; interface uses System.SysUtils, System.Types, System.UITypes, System.Classes, System.Variants, FMX.Types, FMX.Graphics, FMX.Controls, FMX.Forms, FMX.Dialogs, FMX.StdCtrls, FMX.ListView.Types, FMX.ListView, FMX.Objects, FMX.Layouts, FMX.Edit, FMX.Ani; type TC01Form = class(TForm) [...] Menu1Btn: TButton; [...] procedure Menu1BtnClick(Sender: TObject); private { Déclarations privées } public { Déclarations publiques } end; var C01Form: TC01Form; implementation uses [...]User,GlobalVars; {$R *.fmx} procedure TC01Form.Menu1BtnClick(Sender: TObject); var Assoc : TUtilisateur_FonctionManagement; ValidationOK : Boolean; util : TUser; begin ValidationOK := False; util := GlobalVars.LoggedInUser; // Here i created a local user variable for debug purposes as I thought it would permit me to see the user data. But i get "Inaccessible Value" as its value util.Nom:='test'; for Assoc in util.FonctionManagement do // Here is were my initial " access violation" error occurs begin if Assoc.FonctionManagement.Libelle = 'Reponsable équipe HACCP' then begin ValidationOK := True; break; end; end; [...] end; When I debug I see "Inaccessible Value" in the value column of my user. Do you have any idea why ? I tried to put an integer in this GlobalVar unit, and i was able to set its value from my login form and read it from my other form.. I guess I could store the user's id, which is an integer, and then retrieve the user from the database using its id. But it seems really unefficient.

  • How to debug KVO

    - by user8472
In my program I use KVO manually to observe changes to values of object properties. I receive an EXC_BAD_ACCESS signal at the following line of code inside a custom setter: [self willChangeValueForKey:@"mykey"]; The weird thing is that this happens when a factory method calls the custom setter and there should not be any observers around. I do not know how to debug this situation. Update: The way to list all registered observers is observationInfo. It turned out that there was indeed an object listed that points to an invalid address. However, I have no idea at all how it got there. Update 2: Apparently, the same object and method callback can be registered several times for a given object - resulting in identical entries in the observed object's observationInfo. When removing the registration only one of these entries is removed. This behavior is a little counter-intuitive (and it certainly is a bug in my program to add multiple entries at all), but this does not explain how spurious observers can mysteriously show up in freshly allocated objects (unless there is some caching/reuse going on that I am unaware of). Modified question: How can I figure out WHERE and WHEN an object got registered as an observer? Update 3: Specific sample code. ContentObj is a class that has a dictionary as a property named mykey. It overrides: + (BOOL)automaticallyNotifiesObserversForKey:(NSString *)theKey { BOOL automatic = NO; if ([theKey isEqualToString:@"mykey"]) { automatic = NO; } else { automatic=[super automaticallyNotifiesObserversForKey:theKey]; } return automatic; } A couple of properties have getters and setters as follows: - (CGFloat)value { return [[[self mykey] objectForKey:@"value"] floatValue]; } - (void)setValue:(CGFloat)aValue { [self willChangeValueForKey:@"mykey"]; [[self mykey] setObject:[NSNumber numberWithFloat:aValue] forKey:@"value"]; [self didChangeValueForKey:@"mykey"]; } The container class has a property contents of class NSMutableArray which holds instances of class ContentObj. It has a couple of methods that manually handle registrations: + (BOOL)automaticallyNotifiesObserversForKey:(NSString *)theKey { BOOL automatic = NO; if ([theKey isEqualToString:@"contents"]) { automatic = NO; } else { automatic=[super automaticallyNotifiesObserversForKey:theKey]; } return automatic; } - (void)observeContent:(ContentObj *)cObj { [cObj addObserver:self forKeyPath:@"mykey" options:0 context:NULL]; } - (void)removeObserveContent:(ContentObj *)cObj { [cObj removeObserver:self forKeyPath:@"mykey"]; } - (void)observeValueForKeyPath:(NSString *)keyPath ofObject:(id)object change:(NSDictionary *)change context:(void *)context { if (([keyPath isEqualToString:@"mykey"]) && ([object isKindOfClass:[ContentObj class]])) { [self willChangeValueForKey:@"contents"]; [self didChangeValueForKey:@"contents"]; } } There are several methods in the container class that modify contents. They look as follows: - (void)addContent:(ContentObj *)cObj { [self willChangeValueForKey:@"contents"]; [self observeDatum:cObj]; [[self contents] addObject:cObj]; [self didChangeValueForKey:@"contents"]; } And a couple of others that provide similar functionality to the array. They all work by adding/removing themselves as observers. Obviously, anything that results in multiple registrations is a bug and could sit somewhere hidden in these methods. My question targets strategies on how to debug this kind of situation. Alternatively, please feel free to provide an alternative strategy for implementing this kind of notification/observer pattern.

  • How do you debug a XamlParseException?

  • Debug an Eclipse plugin in a different language?

    - by david
I'm trying to debug an Eclipse plug-in when it is running in another language (japanese). The problem I'm encountering is: I can't get the Eclipse debugger to run another Eclipse instance in another language. I've got all my strings externalized to resource bundles ... and, when the plug-in is installed in Eclipse on a machine that has it's default language set to Japanese, it runs OK ... but there are a few problems that I need to resolve. I've tried setting the Eclipse -nl parameter to ja_JP along with '-Duser.language=ja -Duser.country=JP' on the VM arguments, but every time Eclipse is launched, everything is in English. Any suggestions on how I can get the debugger to launch the Eclipse instance in Japanese?
