    Ok, I’m trying to find a way to search my rss feeds in Google Reader every day for certain phrases. If any of the phrases are found, I want to be notified. I thought Google Alerts would do this no problem, but it does not. Does anybody know of any services or any other way of doing this?

  • Google doesn't seem to update the description or title of my homepage

    Before we launched our website, we had set up a "coming soon" page and google picked up the title and description from its contents. So the description in the search results said, "Coming soon! Visit epicwhale.org for updates." It's been a few weeks since we launched our website. We've even created a sitemap and submitted it to google. In the google webmaster panel, the pages have been crawled and all the pages are appearing as expected on google, EXCEPT the homepage which is still not updated! The title and description of the homepage in google search results still says coming soon.. The website I am referring to is textmewidget.com and below are the images of the search result. Google: http://i.imgur.com/vAkJg.png I checked on bing too, but it appears to be fine there. Bing: http://i.imgur.com/Q8O6L.png All other pages seem to be indexed fine on google. I don't even have any crawl errors in my reports. So what seems to be the problem? I've already waited for 2 weeks. Thanks in advance!

I'm using jQuery UI to switch the tabs on the location map/street view module. I've recently upgraded the Google Maps code as well as the Google Streetview code to version 3. So when I open it in Firefox, with Firebug on, as soon as I switch to the Streetview tab, the navigation and zoom in out controls show, but nothing shows.. and then when I try to drag the map around, it does not move around, but instead, causes errors in Firebug: "too much recursion". So it causes the whole browser to become buggy, slows down, and the errors happen, and nothing shows on the streetview pane. Most of the map loading code is located in inline Javascript on the page itself.     Ever noticed that when you go to maps.google.com and do a search (say, car wash), it renders a lot of results (represented by small circles) and a few prominent ones (seen as regular-size pins)? Notice how quickly it does this? From what I can tell from analyzing this in Firebug, much of this is generated on the server and sent to the client as a static image. However, it's still dynamic. You can still zoom in and out, or click on a result and see a dynamic InfoWindow rendered. Google have made the map quick and smooth using static images, while still making it flexible. Is there a way to do this kind of 'pre-loading' with my own Google Map (implemented with the Google Maps API)?

When I first load the map the zoom_changed method is invoked.   • Google Play Music Not Adding MP3s On-Demand

    My recent attempts to add music on-demand to Google Play Music have yielded nothing - no "Processing music..." or "Added __ of __" messages, just nothing. Previously I could add music on-demand; and nothing has changed on the machine from which I successfully added music previously, from which I have tried to add music on-demand recently. What could be hampering my ability to add music on-demand? WHAT I'VE TRIED: Right after I started using GPM, I briefly found that I could not add music (on-demand), but the problem went away after a logout/login. This time a logout/login has not helped. Dragging & dropping or browsing to folders or files to add has made no difference either. Nor has waiting ridiculously long for GPM to show signs of life after adding music on-demand seemed to work. Digging deeper, I read a related Google Play Help article and followed its suggestions... ran the Google Play Music Manager troubleshooter = no errors or warnings double checked my available storage = 8 GB free double checked supported file types = MP3 is still supported (of course) ..., but the problem remains. UPDATE: I found that if I configure GPM to automatically upload music added to specific folders, it strangely does add automatically what it will not add on-demand.

There are a number of ways to import your existing email and calendar entries into Google Apps Gmail (e.g. including the Google Apps Sync for Outlook tool), the Google Email Uploader, and copying messages using an IMAP client) so I'm covered on the import side. I'm trying to understand the use cases for the Google Apps Sync for Outlook tool http://mail.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?topic=23333 with respect to email and calendar entries. The description says it syncs your Outlook email and calendar items with Google Apps, but doesn't using Outlook as an IMAP client against Google Apps do the same?

    Hi There, I used to use shared hosting before and I created a google app account and I configured DNS records on shared hosting's contol panel according to google dns documentations. Everything was working until I switched to dedicated server. First I added DNS role to my new server and I configured whole DNS and NS stuff. I have mail address that mail.domain.com that was redirecting to google app email before. Rightnow, It's not possible to access to mail.domain.com addres from somewhere. But I'm accessing from a few point which located some computer on different network. I stacked in this problem. Please, see the below screen shots I checked on DNSStuff.com,everything is green. Also, I checked on InteliWiz, it seems correct And, Here is the my DNS records. I was accessing to my mail.domain.com address from everywhere, Now, I cannot access to mails from many places since 3 week. Where is the my mistake ? Any help would be appriciated.
