• cpu usage nearly 100 constantly windows xp sp3

  When running some heavy applications like games or virtual box for some time.. the cpu usage is normal for some 15 mins and then suddently cpu usage increases. even after i quit the heavy apps and when i start some other apps, the cpu usage of the new opened application is also very high.. this continues until i reboot the system. There is single particular process occupy more cpu. All the processes cpu usage is little high than normal.. Any solutions?

  I have a debian system. It has 8GB memory. When I do top it shows 7.9 GB memory used and rest free. I add up the memory usage of all the programs running from top and they hardly sum up to around 50 MB. So, where is rest of the memory being used? Can I have a better detailed info of the memory usage? What is a better way to check the memory usage?

  I can't figure out how to redirect / to index.html. I've gone through the threads on serverfault and I think I've tried every suggestion including: rewrite statements within location / index index.html at the server level, within location / and within static content moving node.js proxy statements to location ~ /i instead of within location / Obviously something is wrong somewhere else in my configuration. • 100% CPU in QuickTime H.264 decoder on Windows on Win7, except when using XP compat. mode

  I have a Windows program that uses the Apple QuickTime API to play video. On Windows 7, CPU usage is 100% on one core, which I believe is why the playback is choppy. If I turn on XP compatibility mode for this program, the CPU usage is around 20% of one core, and playback is normal. Using a profiling tool called Very Sleepy (http://www.codersnotes.com/sleepy), I was able to narrow down the high CPU usage to a function in the QuickTime H.264 decoder called JVTCompComponentDispatch. I can't imagine why there would be a difference in CPU usage when XP compatibility mode is turned off or on. Any ideas?

  I have a List<MyClass> with 2 items which have a SequenceNumber property. If I use this code below the returned index is 0 not 1: var test = TrackingCollection .Where(x => x.SequenceNumber == 2) .Select((item, index) => new { index, item.SequenceNumber }); Is this because that refers to 0 as the index in my new anonymous type or is it some zero index based weirdness that I just need to increment. What I'm after is to return the index in TrackingCollection where the sequence number is 2 or 887 or any other correct index in the original collection...

I would like the simple route "content" to show me the index view of the content controller, so I use the following code (with the addition of the default site home route): routes.MapRoute( "ContentIndex", "content", new { controller = "Content", action = "Index"} ); routes.MapRoute( "Default", "{controller}/{action}", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index" } ); when I type the url : "http://localhost/content/", I get an error 404 saying the resource cannot be found, but when I type "http://localhost/content/index", it shows the content index view. • Single page not appearing in Google Search

  Description I have a static franchise website which has various sub pages each dedicated to an individual franchisee. For each franchisee the page, the only thing slightly similar between all of them are the page titles, they follow this structure: <title> Welcome to THE_COMPANY - PRODUCT_DESCRIPTION Services, THE_LOCATION </title> THE_COMPANY and PRODUCT_DESCRIPTION are the same across all franchisees, however THE_LOCATION changes depeding on where they are located in the UK. Each franchisee page has the following <meta /> tags: <meta name="DC.creator" content="user"/> <meta name="DC.format" content="text/html"/> <meta name="DC.language" content="en"/> <meta name="DC.date.modified" content="2014-01-23T11:22:31+00:00"/> <meta name="DC.date.created" content="2014-01-23T11:22:09+00:00"/> <meta name="DC.type" content="Page"/> <meta name="DC.distribution" content="Global"/> <meta name="robots" content="ALL"/> <meta name="distribution" content="Global"/> The main content on each franchisee page is completely different. The Problem There is one particular franchisee page, located in Area A.. Which will not appear in Google Search results at all. However every single other franchisee (if you Google Search for "THE_COMPANY, THE_LOCATION" is number 1). And if I do the same search on Bing, Yahoo or DuckDuckGo, the Area A franchisee is the first result on all of them. Has Google for some reason black listed one page on the site? What I Have Tried Ensuring the page is referenced in my sitemap.xml file 'Fetching as Google Bot' the link www.the_company.co.uk/areaa When that came back as OK I would submit to index Resubmitting the sitemap.xml file in Webmaster Tools Linking to the Area A page from another pages content For this I also waited about 3 weeks before checking again to give Google time to re-index Making a change to the page content and waiting another 2 / 3 weeks Removing the page completely and recreating it with an alternative URL The closest thing I have found to this issue is this StackOverflow question but this particular franchisee has existed for almost a year, it used to appear on Google searches however no longer does. I'm guessing the Panda update wasn't too happy with something on the page, but it hasn't effected anything else on the site and I am at a loss for things to try. I would greatly appreciate any information or thoughts as to what could have caused this Thanks. Update It appears Google likes to drop pages every now and then from the index, despite my steps above, I left the site alone and the page appeared back in the SERPs by itself.

• Reusing WCF Proxy to reduce Memory Usage

  I am working on a program that uploads BLOB from DB to a Document Management System. I have a WCF service to interact with the DMS. I have a multi-threaded client program that uploads the BLOBs to DMS and every thread used to create and dispose a proxy instance for every record to update. When I have a large no of records to convert, I found that the tool’s memory foot print keeps increasing. After a little debugging I found that the WCF proxies are the culprits for excessive memory usage. I changed the program to re-use the proxies to the service, having one proxy per thread. So in some scenarios, it might be beneficial to re-use WCF proxies.

  i have had this problem since i installed ubuntu 12.4 on my laptop (on all of distro i have this problem execpt of backtrack) my problem is when i start my linux while it connect to power source there is no problem everything works fine . but when i disconnect and wants to work with battery it crash i mean everything work tooooo slowly and my cpu usage goes to 100 ... it happen too when i start my linux with battery and want to connect the power source to it .... it happens again . i updated my distro and now on i have 12.10 on my laptop but it has this problem . my lap top is hp probook 4520s my graphic card is ati radeon 530 v and i installed catalyst control center on my lap top and it works fine but the only problem is that what i said ...is it relate to my graphic card ???

• Flash: Memory usage is low but framerate keeps dropping

  So I'm working on a puzzle game in flash. For all intents and purposes it's like Tetris. I spawn blocks, they move around the screen, then they get destroyed and disappear. I was having some trouble with the memory usage being too high over time so I read up on memory management and I think I have that figured out now. It's definitely climbing slower than it was before, but the framerate is still taking a huge dive after playing for a while. If it's not a memory leak what else could be causing this?   I'm on a general energy saving mission. I've finally swapped my old CRT monitor for a LCD, so the next step it to optimise the PC power usage. It's using an AMD 64 X2 4600+ CPU which I know can trottle down, but seems to be running at a constant 2.4GHz. A while back I heard about Granola. I've installed it, but when I try to run it I get granola[10568]: Error opening scaling governor file '/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor' in read mode granola[10568]: Is cpufreq enabled in this kernel and do you have a CPU which supports DVFS? granola[10568]: Can't manage DVFS for any CPUs I'm happy to use other applications if Granola is not optimal or viable.

  The incorrect usage could lead to hard-to-debug problems so better to understand the fundamentals behind it's working.setpropertyListener queues an event on the server side, so if for a command component you have a showPopup behavior/actionListner as well as setPropertyListener then fwk does the queuing correctly and raises further event on the component. While, the setactionListener simply raises an event on the server side instead of queueing it, so any further event on command component gets cancelled.Also, if you use an ActionListener and showPopup behavior together on a command component, then the order of their invocation is undetermined and also one of event gets cancelled on the component. So, either use only actionListner and do the popup invocation stuff progrmmatically in your bean or use the declarative stuff logically so that no clash of event happens.

  For any company that has made it onto a "Best Companies to Work For" list* in 2010 that hires programmers, what restrictions on web usage do they have in place? Does that company view unrestricted internet access as a benefit to their employees even if they might use it for non-work related reasons? If you can provide a link to back up this information, even better. (* I don't want to promote any specific publication, but they are easy enough to find.) My hypothesis is that a company that aspires to be one of the best needs to provide fairly unrestricted internet access and I'm trying to test it.
