  Is it possible to transfer Google Authorship from one account to another? Scenario: I have user A who is a legitimate Google Author in my WordPress site. When I search the 'keyword' in Google, his name and photo will show up in the search result. One day A left the company, so we don't want to use his name again as an author, and transfer it to another person which is B. Technically speaking, I can just alter the display name and Google+ Profile URL of A to B. And then I probably can notify Google of the changes happening. But what will happen then? Will Google get confused and think that I'm doing scam? Is doing this action even correct in the first place?

• How to approach iOS web clip app "download"?

  We have our main site at: http://mysite.com which we don't want to alter. Then we have our web clip app at: http://mysite.com/app/ If someone visits the app URL in normal Safari then the Safari UI will still display. But if the user adds the app URL to their home screen, and then they tap that icon they will launch the app URL without the Safari UI as intended. My question is how do you go about getting the user to use the web clip app from their home screen when they start from mysite.com? What I'm thinking is that we have a link on mysite.com that points to mysite.com/app/. Then when they click that /app/ link they'll go to the app but it won't be in "app mode". Can I detect that it's not in app mode and display a message like "add this page to your home screen to use the app"? And then when they do visit in app mode obviously just let the app run.

• SEO Benefits of adding a Tumblr feed to site

  A client of ours has a CMS driven Blog in his hotel site - he would like to use the blog to add depth top his site and add seo benefits relating to the blogs content. The current blog is a basic header / text field and doesn't contain any tagging / meta features. Unfortunately we dont have a .net developer in our team to alter the existing blog and add meta / tagging and there isn't budget to hire one - so I considered using a Tumblr blog - setting it up externally - giving it a blog.hotelname.com address and feeding it into the existing page via tumblrs js - which basically does a document.write into the page - which we can style. I understand from a previous post (Poor CMS blog vs Tumblr embed as a general rule most search engines ignore JS created content - but will the above approach act as an improvement on the existing system for now - as the blog will be setup externally with its own url and also feed into the existing site?   I type dvorak, but I don't like to confuse other users by having it be a system-wide default. I have a script that runs setxbmap dvorak that I can call when I want dvorak and likewise another script that runs setxbmap us when I want qwerty. For X, that's fine. How do I get this behavior in the real console (Ctrl-Alt-F3)? i.e. how can I change the console keymap to dvorak without setting a system-wide default. Having to sudo to do it is fine, but it can't be the default keymap for any console user. Resources like this and this seem to be explaining how to permanently alter the system but I need to change it on the fly temporarily. In BSD this was possible by using wsconsctl.

Is overriding an already implemented method in base class considered as "altering behavior"? Or, does the author mean altering method signatures and the output? • How to set up router with DSL?

  I have a Verizon DSL connection. I am new to being the one who has to maintain the net. We have the Verizon modem and plugged into it is a belkin router. I did not alter the configuration on either of the devices. We get a net connection, though I have issues joining any form of online game. Some refuse to connect, others are slow. I have read that perhaps I need to use the modem in "bridge mode" to the wireless router? Would that fix my issues? Or do I just have to open ports or something similar. I really have no clue what could be the problem. Could someone advice me how to get this working with Ubuntu?

  I've just started a programming job where I'm applying my 'How to code' knowledge to what I'm being taught of 'How to Program' (They are different!). As well of this I'm taught how to capture requirements from clients, so as to start a new project. How do I do this for a nebulous personal project? I say nebulous, as I often find halfway through programming something, I want to expand what my program will do, or alter the result. Eventually I'm tangled in code, and have to restart. This can be frustrating and off putting. Conversely when given a fixed task, and fixed requirements, it's much easier to programme from a - b. So how do I plan a personal programming project?

  I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 on a Asus PC 1001P in a dual boot environment with XP. All has been running fine for several weeks, but: I've just changed ISP (from Tiscali to BT), and had already sorted out connection, registration, etc. on a Dell laptop. On the Asus I went into Ubuntu to alter the wireless network details (i.e. selected the new network, and entered the password). Ubuntu immediately started running slowly, and after rebooting it now freezes when it gets to the Ubuntu logo and gets no further. Please help, lovely Ubuntu experts.

  I'm working under 12.04 and suppose I have a Firefox windows active (or in foreground) with English as input language and I need to type a document in other language using some text editor. With the text editor in foreground (or active) and the input language set to a non-English one, when I bring Firefox in foreground (or making it active) the input language remains set to the non-English and the language flag does not switch to English (as it would be expected, since I do not alter the language during the whole Firefox session). Because of this, I have to make extra moves and change the input language manually every time I switch from the text editor to Firefox and back to text editor. This was not happening with 10.04, and each application windows had the corresponding input language set to its default or previous session every time I was bringing it to the foreground! How will I make 12.04 to behave the same way?

  I'm having a few issues with my dedicated Windows server that has a Plesk panel: 1.) I can't send e-mail via PHP's mail() function, it always returns the following error: SMTP server response: 550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable or not local Which setting should I alter in order to enable sending mail? 2.) The exec() and passthru() PHP functions don't work; their outputs are blank even when I try to run simple commands such as dir. Is there an option that I can toggle in the control panel to enable this functionality?

  I'm planning to upgrade from Maverick to Natty, and to try out Unity, but I don't want to lose any settings, customizations and downloads in Maverick. I just want to know, if upgrading alter anything that I said earlier? I don't want to start over with a clean, fresh Natty, and I hope I can keep all of my files and folders and settings in Maverick, and to have them in Natty after the upgrade. Is this possible? Should I use Update Manager to achieve this? And would all my compiz-settings be reset after I upgrade? Sorry for too much questions, but I'm asking this because you know, in Windows, any version upgrade would require the disk to be reformatted. I hope Ubuntu is more convenient than that.

  I've been looking at a couple of games and noticed that the transitions between tiles are handled somewhat different. I was wondering which methods are to be used in different situations and why. I'm currently using internal edges in a top-down game, and it's working out so far. But I don't want to run into problems later on, and have to redo the whole tileset. I noticed that platforming games mostly use the internal edges, and top-down games mostly use external and hybrid transitions. I can see how these tiles are used to create "depth" in top-down games, where the player apears to be standing in front of a wall for example. But it seems unlikely that such a small feature decides the entire method for tile transitions. You could always alter the bounding box to create the same effect.

  Last week, I had the opportunity to help implement and integrate a strong password policy into the legacy web application developed using ASP technology. The solution I proposed was to use jQuery to display the password strength meter to help users create strong passwords. One of my colleagues asked if we would have to modify multiple pages and files if the client decided to alter the password policy. The answer is no. Thanks to jQuery, the client-side script and code behind can share the same information. • Default Database Collations got messed up

  I am using Ubuntu 9.10 with XAMPP ( Lampp "MYSQL 5.1.45 PHPMYADMIN 3.3.1 PHP 5.3.2 ) What my problem is, is that I set up my testing env to debug my scripts locally and when I did so there arose a problem. This problem is that I used firefox's addon SQLinject ME to test for weakness' and upon doing so it caused mysql to change the default local collations; character sets dir /opt/lampp/share/mysql/charsets/ collation connection latin1_general_ci (Global value) latin1_swedish_ci collation database latin1_swedish_ci collation server latin1_swedish_ci I have searched for quite sometime in regards to a solution to this problem and have come up with searching for the db.opt file which stores this information without success. Upon not finding a solution I removed lampp with the "sudo rm -fR /opt" command and reinstall and the problem still persists. I have tried to change the collations manually and still come up with the database displaying latin1_swedish_ci as the default language. Why is this a problem?? Why is it a problem with mysql? Because the application I am testing and debugging locally is built on the CodeIgnitor with Smarty framework and since this combination of framework is built to detect the LOCALES, Rather what the database defaults are I keep getting errors saying no language file for swedish...... Of course I could get the swedish language file to work around this problem but I do not feel the need to make this work around a perminant solution as with time when I move on to projects I will run into simular problems every time that A; When importing database files, backups etc it will default to import such databases as the locale swedish. B; As time passes on I might completly forget of this error and will be back to square one. I have found this code in searches for a fix,which seems to alter the tables to a desired Collaion; $value) { mysql_query("ALTER TABLE $value COLLATE latin1_general_ci"); }} echo "The collation of your database has been successfully changed!"; ? Which is handy to switch collations in One Schema at a time however this is not a fix when a framework doesnt care that the said database is in one langugae. It tests for the Default of the entire server. Someone with any knowledge of a purge or fix to this I would greatly appricate the help. One more final note is that when I was testing I only figured to back up the applications DataBase and not the entire Schema of the install. No matter if I uninstall or reinstall the database still seems to carry these problems.

• C# - Using a copy of Session-stored variables instead of reference

  I have an asp:ImageButton with OnClick="Btn_OnClick". In Btn_OnClick I have this line: DataTable dtTable = (DataTable)Session["someSessionKey"] and dtTable is altered in the function. I've noticed that if the button's clicked more than once, the dtTable I take from the session contains the altered table, probably meaning dtTable is not a copy but a reference of the session variable. How can I alter a copy of Session["someSessionKey"], and not the actual value? Thanks!
