  • What is causing a Hibernate SQL query exception?

    - by Dark Star1
Hi all and sorry in advance for this post but I've spent way too much time going around in circles so I'm hoping someone could shed a light on it here for me. I updated a webapp on Tomcat and I'm getting the following error which didn't exist on the previous version. Though I am quite confident that the part of code I modifed isn't to blame as I have tested the app on two different dev servers. The production server is configured thus: CentOS 5.4 virtual server with tomcat 5.5.23 running mysql 5.0.77. The two dev servers are: Windows XP SP2 running tomcat 5.5.23 with mysql 5.1.49 Mac OSX 10.6.6 Running tomcat 6 with mysql 5.1.51 The application was developed using struts (1.1 as far as I can gather) with hibernate 3 as the peristence layer. It only fails on the production server for some reason I can't fathom. I'd like to draw your attention to the java.sql.SQLException near the bottom. After some long searching I found this but because it was posted years ago (about 1 year before development started on this app I'm sure Hibernate has evolved from that version. as I can't find a way of implementing his solution. I use Eclipse Helios as an IDE. Thanks in advance for taking your time to read this, to all who manage to reply. javax.servlet.ServletException: org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not execute query at • Problems with shutting down JBoss in Eclipse if I change JNDI port

    - by Balint Pato
1st phase I have a problem shutting down my running JBoss instance under Eclipse since I changed the JNDI port of JBoss. Of course I can shut it down from the console view but not with the stop button (it still searches JNDI port at the default 1099 port). I'm looking forward to any solutions. Thank you! Used environment: JBoss 4.0.2 (using default) Eclipse 3.4.0. (using JBoss Tools 2.1.1.GA) Default ports: 1098, 1099 Changed ports: 11098, 11099 I changed the following part in jbosspath/server/default/conf/jboss-service.xml: <!-- ==================================================================== --> <!-- JNDI --> <!-- ==================================================================== --> <mbean code="org.jboss.naming.NamingService" name="jboss:service=Naming" xmbean-dd="resource:xmdesc/NamingService-xmbean.xml"> <!-- The call by value mode. true if all lookups are unmarshalled using the caller's TCL, false if in VM lookups return the value by reference. --> <attribute name="CallByValue">false</attribute> <!-- The listening port for the bootstrap JNP service. • Converting from samplerate/cutoff frequency to pi-radians/sample in a discrete time sampled IIR filter system.

    - by Fake Name
I am working on doing some digital filter work using Python and Numpy/Scipy. I'm using scipy.signal.iirdesign to generate my filter coefficents, but it requires the filter passband coefficents in a format I am not familiar with wp, ws : float Passband and stopband edge frequencies, normalized from 0 to 1 (1 corresponds to pi radians / sample). For example: Lowpass: wp = 0.2, ws = 0.3 Highpass: wp = 0.3, ws = 0.2 (from here) I'm not familiar with digital filters (I'm coming from a hardware design background). In an analog context, I would determine the desired slope and the 3db down point, and calculate component values from that. In this context, how do I take a known sample rate, a desired corner frequency, and a desired rolloff, and calculate the wp, ws values from that? (This might be more appropriate for math.stackexchange. I'm not sure)

  • JSON Formatting with Jersey, Jackson, & json.org/java Parser using Curl Command

    - by socal_javaguy
Using Java 6, Tomcat 7, Jersey 1.15, Jackson 2.0.6 (from FasterXml maven repo), & www.json.org parser, I am trying to pretty print the JSON String so it will look indented by the curl -X GET command line. I created a simple web service which has the following architecture: My POJOs (model classes): Family.java import javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlRootElement; @XmlRootElement public class Family { private String father; private String mother; private List<Children> children; // Getter & Setters } Children.java import javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlRootElement; @XmlRootElement public class Children { private String name; private String age; private String gender; // Getters & Setters } Using a Utility Class, I decided to hard code the POJOs as follows: public class FamilyUtil { public static Family getFamily() { Family family = new Family(); family.setFather("Joe"); family.setMother("Jennifer"); Children child = new Children(); child.setName("Jimmy"); child.setAge("12"); child.setGender("male"); List<Children> children = new ArrayList<Children>(); children.add(child); family.setChildren(children); return family; } } My web service: import java.io.IOException; import javax.ws.rs.GET; import javax.ws.rs.Path; import javax.ws.rs.PathParam; import javax.ws.rs.Produces; import javax.ws.rs.core.MediaType; import org.codehaus.jackson.JsonGenerationException; import org.codehaus.jackson.map.JsonMappingException; import org.codehaus.jackson.map.ObjectMapper; import org.codehaus.jettison.json.JSONException; import org.json.JSONObject; import org.json.JSONTokener; import com.myapp.controller.myappController; import com.myapp.resource.output.HostingSegmentOutput; import com.myapp.util.FamilyUtil; @Path("") public class MyWebService { @GET @Produces(MediaType.APPLICATION_JSON) public static String getFamily() throws IOException, JsonGenerationException, JsonMappingException, JSONException, org.json.JSONException { ObjectMapper mapper = new ObjectMapper(); String uglyJsonString = mapper.writeValueAsString(FamilyUtil.getFamily()); System.out.println(uglyJsonString); JSONTokener tokener = new JSONTokener(uglyJsonString); JSONObject finalResult = new JSONObject(tokener); return finalResult.toString(4); } } When I run this using: curl -X GET http://localhost:8080/mywebservice I get this in my Eclipse's console: {"father":"Joe","mother":"Jennifer","children":[{"name":"Jimmy","age":"12","gender":"male"}]} But from the curl command on the command line (this response is more important): "{\n \"mother\": \"Jennifer\",\n \"children\": [{\n \"age\": \"12\",\n \"name\": \"Jimmy\",\n \"gender\": \"male\"\n }],\n \"father\": \"Joe\"\n}" This is adding newline escape sequences and placing double quotes (but not indenting like it should it does have 4 spaces after the new line but its all in one line). Would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

  • jvm version for Websphere 6.1.0.23on Solaris

    - by dr jerry
Hi I'm at big financial institute and we've an application running on Websphere 6.1. on Solaris. Due to MQ Connectivity we had to install fixpack 6.1.0.23. Unfortunately this broke an ejb (1.1) which is still there as legacy (Test missed it). [3/23/10 11:33:18:703 CET] 00000055 EJBContainerI E WSVR0068E: Attempt to start EnterpriseBean EventRisk_1.0.0#EventRiskEJB.jar#PolicyDataManager failed with exception: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.ibm.ejs.csi.ResRefListImpl.(Lorg/eclipse/jst/j2ee/ejb/EnterpriseBean;Lcom/ibm/ejs/models/base/bindings/ejbbnd/EnterpriseBeanBinding;Lcom/ibm/ejs/models/base/extensions/ejbext/EnterpriseBeanExtension;)V at com.ibm.ws.metadata.ejb.EJBMDOrchestrator.finishBMDInit(EJBMDOrchestrator.java:1364) at com.ibm.ws.runtime.component.EJBContainerImpl.finishDeferredBeanMetaData(EJBContainerImpl.java:4829) at com.ibm.ws.runtime.component.EJBContainerImpl$3.run(EJBContainerImpl.java:4631) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at com.ibm.ws.security.util.AccessController.doPrivileged(AccessController.java:125) at com.ibm.ws.runtime.component.EJBContainerImpl.initializeDeferredEJB(EJBContainerImpl.java:4627) at com.ibm.ejs.container.HomeOfHomes.getHome(HomeOfHomes.java:390) at com.ibm.ejs.container.HomeOfHomes.internalCreateWrapper(HomeOfHomes.java:938) at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSContainer.createWrapper(EJSContainer.java:4783) at com.ibm.ejs.container.WrapperManager.faultOnKey(WrapperManager.java:545) at com.ibm.ejs.util.cache.Cache.findAndFault(Cache.java:498) at com.ibm.ejs.container.WrapperManager.keyToObject(WrapperManager.java:489) We cannot reproduce the issue on our desktop boxes (it all works fine there) and we do not have direct access to our the Solaris machines (dependent on the deployment department) we do suspect a discrepancy on the jvm but we're not sure. My question is two fold: can you confirm IBM's statement that fixpack 6.1.0.23 for solaris indeed runs on jvm 1.5.0_17b04 our installation tells us ./java -version java version "1.5.0_13" But deploy department is not eager to investigate. Do you see some other solution, apart from hiring big blue's con$ultancy? kind regards, Jeroen.

  • SSL HandShakeException: No_Certificate. Using IBM's J9 JVM and Apache Tomcat

    - by DaveJohnston
I am developing a mobile application that is to run on a Windows Mobile PDA. The application is written in Java and to run it we are using the J9 JVM from IBM. The application communicates with an Apache Tomcat server over HTTP and we are trying to set it up now to use SSL. I have generated public/private keys for both the client and the server, exported their self signed certificates and imported them into the respective keystores. Initially I tried to just get it working using only server side authentication and that was successful. But I am now trying to get mutual authentication by setting clientAuth="true" in the server.xml file in the apache conf directory. I have enabled the SSL logging on the server and when the client connects the server reports an SSLProtocolException: handshake alert: no_certificate. The client logs also show an exception: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: unexpected_message at com.ibm.j9.jsse.SSLSocketImpl.completeHandshake(Unknown Source) at com.ibm.j9.jsse.SSLSocketImpl.startHandshake(Unknown Source) at com.ibm.oti.net.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnection.openSocket(Unknown Source) at com.ibm.oti.net.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnection.connect(Unknown Source) at com.ibm.oti.net.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnection.sendRequest(Unknown Source) at com.ibm.oti.net.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnection.doRequest(Unknown Source) at com.ibm.oti.net.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source) The client keystore and truststore is configured by setting the following System Properties: javax.net.ssl.trustStore javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword javax.net.ssl.keyStore javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword Does anyone have any ideas how I can set up client authentication on the J9 JVM?

Made a custom ListCellRenderer: import java.awt.Component; import javax.swing.JCheckBox; import javax.swing.JLabel; import javax.swing.JList; import javax.swing.JPanel; import javax.swing.ListCellRenderer; /** * * @author Spencer */ public class TaskRenderer implements ListCellRenderer { private Task task; private JPanel panel = new JPanel(); private JCheckBox checkbox = new JCheckBox(); private JLabel label = new JLabel(); public TaskRenderer() { panel.add(checkbox); panel.add(label); } public Component getListCellRendererComponent( JList list, Object value, int index, boolean isSelected, boolean cellHasFocus) { task = (Task) value; label.setText(task.getName()); return panel; } } Have a JList with each cell in it rendered using the above class, but the checkboxes in the panels for each cell cannot be clicked. Thought it had to do with it not getting focus. Any ideas? Thanks, Spencer

  • JOGL program does not compile - javac with classpath

    - by user1720523
I want to run a HelloWorld JOGL programm on the commandline. I downloaded the .jars from jogamp.org and put the gluegen-rt.jar , jogl.all.jar , gluegen-java-src.zip , jogl-java-src.zip , gluegen-rt-natives-macosx-universal.jar , jogl-all-natives-macosx-universal.jar in a directory "jar" in my HelloWorld folder - as described in http://jogamp.org/wiki/index.php/Downloading_and_installing_JOGL . Now I try to compile with javac -classpath "jar/gluegen-rt.jar:jar/jogl.all.jar" HelloWorld.java as described on https://jogamp.org/wiki/index.php/Setting_up_a_JogAmp_project_in_your_favorite_IDE . Then it throws me 14 errors starting with HelloWorld.java:7: package javax.media.opengl does not exist import javax.media.opengl.GL; ^ When I try to compile with absolute paths using javac -classpath "/Users/jonas/Desktop/cool_jogl/helloworld/jar/gluegen-rt.jar:/Users/jonas/Desktop/cool_jogl/helloworld/jar/jogl-all.jar" HelloWorld.java it still throws me 12 errors starting with HelloWorld.java:9: cannot find symbol symbol : class GLCanvas location: package javax.media.opengl import javax.media.opengl.GLCanvas; ^

  • Web Service Client in JBOSS 5.1 with JDK6

This is a continuation of the question here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2435286/jboss-does-app-have-to-be-compiled-under-same-jdk-as-jboss-is-running-under It's different enough though that it required a new question. I am trying to use jdk6 to run JBOSS 5.1, and I downloaded the JDK6 version of JBOSS 5.1. This works fine and my EAR application deploys fine. However, when I want to run a web service client with code like this: public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { System.out.println("creating the web service client..."); TestClient client = new TestClient("http://localhost:8080/tc_test_project-tc_test_project/TestBean?wsdl"); Test service = client.getTestPort(); System.out.println("calling service.retrieveAll() using the service client"); List<TestEntity> list = service.retrieveAll(); System.out.println("the number of elements in list retrieved using the client is " + list.size()); } I get the following exception: javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: setProperty must be overridden by all subclasses of SOAPMessage at org.jboss.ws.core.jaxws.client.ClientImpl.handleRemoteException(ClientImpl.java:396) at org.jboss.ws.core.jaxws.client.ClientImpl.invoke(ClientImpl.java:302) at org.jboss.ws.core.jaxws.client.ClientProxy.invoke(ClientProxy.java:170) at org.jboss.ws.core.jaxws.client.ClientProxy.invoke(ClientProxy.java:150) Now, here's the really interesting part. The only way I found for the code above to run under JDK6 was to take the JBOSS_HOME/lib/endorsed folder and copy it to JDK6_HOME/lib. This seems like it shouldn't be necessary, but it is. Is there any other way to make this work other than using the workaround I just described?

I don't know where the problem is and I hope to know how to solve it.

  • Double pointer as Objective-C block parameter

    - by George WS
Is it possible (and if so, safe) to create/use a block which takes a double pointer as an argument? For instance: - (void)methodWithBlock:(void (^)(NSError **error))block; Additional context, research, and questions: I'm using ARC. When I declare the method above and attempt to call it, XCode autocompletes my method invocation as follows: [self methodWithBlock:^(NSError *__autoreleasing *error) {}]; What does __autoreleasing mean here and why is it being added? I presume it has something to do with ARC. If this is possible and safe, can the pointer still be dereferenced in the block as it would be anywhere else? In general, what are the important differences between doing what I'm describing, and simply passing a double pointer as a method parameter (e.g. - (void)methodWithDoublePointer:(NSError **)error;)? What special considerations, if any, should be taken into account (again assuming this is possible at all)?

  • Workflow for statistical analysis and report writing

    - by ws
Does anyone have any wisdom on workflows for data analysis related to custom report writing? The use-case is basically this: Client commissions a report that uses data analysis, e.g. a population estimate and related maps for a water district. The analyst downloads some data, munges the data and saves the result (e.g. adding a column for population per unit, or subsetting the data based on district boundaries). The analyst analyzes the data created in (2), gets close to her goal, but sees that needs more data and so goes back to (1). Rinse repeat until the tables and graphics meet QA/QC and satisfy the client. Write report incorporating tables and graphics. Next year, the happy client comes back and wants an update. This should be as simple as updating the upstream data by a new download (e.g. get the building permits from the last year), and pressing a "RECALCULATE" button, unless specifications change. At the moment, I just start a directory and ad-hoc it the best I can. I would like a more systematic approach, so I am hoping someone has figured this out... I use a mix of spreadsheets, SQL, ARCGIS, R, and Unix tools. Thanks! PS: Below is a basic Makefile that checks for dependencies on various intermediate datasets (w/ ".RData" suffix) and scripts (".R" suffix). Make uses timestamps to check dependencies, so if you 'touch ss07por.csv', it will see that this file is newer than all the files / targets that depend on it, and execute the given scripts in order to update them accordingly. This is still a work in progress, including a step for putting into SQL database, and a step for a templating language like sweave. Note that Make relies on tabs in its syntax, so read the manual before cutting and pasting.
