    I have setup sharepoint farm with 2 webfront ends everything was working fine but now when i m trying to deploy any solution its not getting deployed to one WFE,My solution is getting stuck on deploying status message and when I kill the timer job associated with it ...its showing that it gets deployed on 1 but not on other... what are the things I can check for this?

  • How can I tell which "explorer.exe" process is the main one?

    I have a batch file that changes a few registry files, and then restarts explorer.exe so that they take effect. I'm using the command taskkill /f /im explorer.exe and then explorer.exe which of course kills all the explorer.exe processes, including the explorer windows I have open. Obviously, I am using the option to Launch folder windows in a separate process. Is there any way I can determine which instance of explorer.exe is the main one, and just kill that?

    I have antivirus service (Kaspersky) that occasionally becomes unresponsive to the normal stop/stop gui interface provided by said vendor. I would like to find a way to kill the service for a restart without rebooting, however all attempts I have tried result in failure with an 'Access is Denied' error. These include: Services Control Panel (grayed out stop button) Task Manager Killing Process Explorer Killing command line net and sc stopping runas with domain admin using net stop Some details include: Machine: Windows Vista Service Type: 10 WIN32_OWN_PROCESS Service State: 4 Running (NOT_STOPPABLE, NOT_PAUSABLE, ACCEPTS_SHUTDOWN)

  • Apache shuts down from time to time

    I'm having trouble with my VPS as it keeps shutting apache down at least twice a day. The server is running on CentOS 6 with the latest apache. By shutting down I mean I have to go into SSH and type in this command in order to bring it up again: /sbin/service httpd start I'm not very good with servers and my host doesn't seem to have a nice customer service. Any help would be appreciated as these unexpected downtimes really know to kill one's mood.

  • Linux software RAID6: 3 drives offline - how to force online?

    This is similar to 3 drives fell out of Raid6 mdadm - rebuilding? except that it is not due to a failing cable. Instead the 3rd drive fell offline during rebuild of another drive. The drive failed with: kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sdc, sector 293732432 kernel: md/raid:md0: read error not correctable (sector 293734224 on sdc). After rebooting both these sectors and the sectors around them are fine. This leads me to believe the error is intermittent and thus the device simply took too long to error correct the sector and remap it. I expect that no data was written to the RAID after it failed. Therefore I hope that if I can kick the last failing device online that the RAID is fine and that the xfs_filesystem is OK, maybe with a few missing recent files. Taking a backup of the disks in the RAID takes 24 hours, so I would prefer that the solution works the first time.   • Google chrome crashes when you paste from a remote session

    I often have a remote desktop session or a java remoting tool up and whenever i copy from within a remote session and paste into chrome browser, the browser freezes and i have to kill it for anything to work again. has anyone seen this or have a resolution? i have to remember to copy and paste into notepad first and then copy from notepad and then into chrome which is a pain. I am using google chrome 5.0

  • Firefox needs 1GB of RAM

    I work as a webdeveloper and for that I'm using firefox with firebug. I have noticed in the last time that after 2 hours of work, the firefox.exe process needed more than 1 GB of my working memory! Even if I close the window, the process still remains in the taskmanager and the only thing I can do is to 'kill' the process. Any suggestions? I'm using Windows7 with 2GB RAM, FF 3.6.8 y normally i have opened 10 tabs.

    Every time I run a java application, one of two things happen: Either I lose sound in all other programs (even after quitting the java app) or if some other application is already playing sound, the said java app doesn't have sound Usually this can be fixed by running pulseaudio --kill from the command line, but it doesn't always work. Is there a way to fix this problem? This didn't happen before the upgrade to karmic. Other info: The java I'm using is Sun's Java

  • Changing default playback device on Windows 8

    Previously, on Vista and Windows 7, changing the Default Playback device would occur instantly. For example, audio is coming out of my speakers, I right click the Volume Control, click Playback Devices then I select another device and click Set Default. Audio would be transferred immediately. Unfortunately, now, with Windows 8, I need to kill whatever process what outputting sound, and restart it for the change to take effect. Is there something that can be done about it so that changes are taken into account immediately?

  • /sbin/getty process causing 100% CPU utilization

    I have an instance of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (GNU/Linux 3.2.0-25-virtual i686) running as a KVM-VM on a host-machine that runs one more VM beside it. I deploy a Ruby on Rails application using the Capistrano deployment-gem. However, if I deploy twice in a row in a short time, the CPU usage jumps to 100% because of the /sbin/getty process. How can this be? I believe getty is a rather simple program that passes a login-name from a terminal to a login-process. Also: In my Capfile (Capistrano configuration file) I am running certain commands after the Rails application is deployed including a call to sudo /sbin/restart <APPNAME> which is an upstart task. Could this be related somehow? I can always kill the getty process and the problem is gone until the next deployment, but I would rather understand and fix the problem. Any help is appreciated. Attached is a screenshot of my problem.

I'm trying to figure out how to trouble shoot the problem, but I can't run start_daemon ... from the command line. I want to reproduce what the script is doing manually so I can work on what the problem is.

    Rabid Gremlin has a blog post up entitled: Did Microsoft just kill Flash? IE 10 won’t run Flash unless your site is on a Microsoft whitelist! Apparently this is true…kind of. There are 2 versions of IE 10 that ship with WIndows 8. One is the Windows UI version (in this article, I’m going to reference this as IE10Metro) and one is the desktop version. These are entirely different apps, different codebases. IE10Metro will *not* serve up Flash content unless the website hosting the content has been whitelisted with Microsoft, as per this Microsoft document. IE10 for the desktop will serve Flash content without any issues. In a broader view, what this means is that web developers now need to consider another browser for testing their sites in – IE 10 Metro, in addition to IE 10 Desktop. D

    Hi all, a question bounces in my head from some time. Copyright laws are different by nation to nation, but generally which is the border line to break a copyright? Suppose to make a game that is very similar to an other come out in the past, e.g. a Pacman clone or a Space Invaders clone, but nothing from original titles are grabbed and maybe they're not made in 2d, but in 3d. The titles aren't "Pacman clone - the return" or "Space Invaders - they did it again", and not also "Pocman" or "Space Evaders" (maybe this last could be fun for some "creative financers" that need to escape from earth :D). Finally suppose to call these some thing like "Popcorn, fruit and ghosts" (or the acronym: "PFG") and "Kill all enemy" (or the acronym: "KAE"). In this case (not grab- all self-made) and no references to original titles, but with a game that feels very similar to "ispiration ones"... they could be sold to somewhere like "Valve's Steam"?     NoSQL as a movement is an interesting beast. I kinda like that its negatively defined (I happen to belong myself to at least one other such a-community). Its not in its roots about proposing one specific new silver bullet to kill an old problem. its about challenging the consensus.
