  • Merging multiple Google calendar feeds into one JSON object in javascript

    - by Jeramy
    I am trying to bring in the JSON feeds from multiple Google calendars so that I can sort the upcoming events and display the next X number in an "Upcoming Events" list. I have this working with Yahoo! pipes but I want to get away from using a 3rd party to aggregate. I think I am close, but I cannot get the JSON objects created correctly. I am getting the data into the array but not in JSON format, so I can't manipulate it. I have tried var myJsonString = JSON.stringify(JSONData); using https://github.com/douglascrockford/JSON-js but that just threw errors. I suspect because my variable is in the wrong starting format. I have tried just calling the feed like: $.getJSON(url); and creating a function concant1() to do the JSONData=JSONData.concat(data);, but it doesn't fire and I think it would produce the same end result anyway. I have also tried several other methods of getting the end result I want with varying degrees of doom. Here is the closest I have come so far: var JSONData = new Array(); var urllist = ["https://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/dg61asqgqg4pust2l20obgdl64%40group.calendar.google.com/public/full?orderby=starttime&max-results=3&sortorder=ascending&futureevents=true&ctz=America/New_York&singleevents=true&alt=json&callback=concant1","https://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/5oc3kvp7lnu5rd4krg2skcu2ng%40group.calendar.google.com/public/full?orderby=starttime&max-results=3&sortorder=ascending&futureevents=true&ctz=America/New_York&singleevents=true&alt=json&callback=concant1","http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/rine4umu96kl6t46v4fartnho8%40group.calendar.google.com/public/full?orderby=starttime&max-results=3&sortorder=ascending&futureevents=true&ctz=America/New_York&singleevents=true&alt=json&callback=concant1"]; urllist.forEach(function addFeed(url){ alert("The URL being used: "+ url); if (void 0 != JSONData){JSONData=JSONData.concat($.getJSON(url));} else{JSONData = $.getJSON(url);} alert("The count from concantonated JSONData: "+JSONData.length); }); document.write("The final count from JSONData: "+JSONData.length+"<p>"); console.log(JSONData) UPDATE: Now with full working source!! :) If anyone would like to make suggestions on how to improve the code's efficiency it would be gratefully accepted. I hope others find this useful.: // GCal MFA - Google Calendar Multiple Feed Aggregator // Useage: GCalMFA(CIDs,n); // Where 'CIDs' is a list of comma seperated Google calendar IDs in the format: [email protected], and 'n' is the number of results to display. // While the contained console.log(); outputs are really handy for testing, you will probably waant to remove them for regular usage // Author: Jeramy Kruser - http://jeramy.kruser.me //onerror=function (d, f, g){alert (d+ "\n"+ f+ "\n");} if (!window.console) {console = {log: function() {}};} document.body.className += ' js-enabled'; // Global variables var urllist = []; var maxResults = 3; // The default is 3 results unless a value is sent var JSONData = {}; var eventCount = 0; var errorLog = ""; JSONData = { count: 0, value : { description: "Aggregates multiple Google calendar feeds into a single sorted list", generator: "StackOverflow communal coding - Thanks for the assist Patrick M", website: "http://jeramy.kruser.me", author: "Jeramy & Kasey Kruser", items: [] }}; // For putting dates from feed into a format that can be read by the Date function for calculating event length. function parse (str) { // validate year as 4 digits, month as 01-12, and day as 01-31 str = str.match (/^(\d{4})(0[1-9]|1[0-2])(0[1-9]|[12]\d|3[01])$/); if (str) { // make a date str[0] = new Date ( + str[1], + str[2] - 1, + str[3]); // check if month stayed the same (ie that day number is valid) if (str[0].getMonth () === + str[2] - 1) { return str[0]; } } return undefined; } //For outputting to HTML function output() { var months, day_in_ms, summary, i, item, eventlink, title, calendar, where,dtstart, dtend, endyear, endmonth, endday, startyear, startmonth, startday, endmonthdayyear, eventlinktitle, startmonthday, length, curtextval, k; // Array of month names from numbers for page display. months = {'0':'January', '1':'February', '2':'March', '3':'April', '4':'May', '5':'June', '6':'July', '7':'August', '8':'September', '9':'October', '10':'November', '11':'December'}; // For use in calculating event length. day_in_ms = 24 * 60 * 60 * 1000; // Instantiate HTML Arrays. summary = []; for (i = 0; i < maxResults; i+=1 ) { //console.log("i: "+i+" < "+"maxResults: "+ maxResults); if (!(JSONData.value.items[i] === undefined)) { item = JSONData.value.items[i]; // Grabbing data for each event in the feed. eventlink = item.link[0]; title = item.title.$t; // Only display the calendar title if there is more than one calendar = ""; if (urllist.length > 1) { calendar = '<br />Calendar: <a href="https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=' + item.gd$who[0].email + '&ctz=America/New_York">' + item.author[0].name.$t + '<\/a> (<a href="https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/' + item.gd$who[0].email + '/public/basic.ics">iCal<\/a>)'; } // Grabbing event location, if entered. if ( item.gd$where[0].valueString !== "" ) { where = '<br />' + (item.gd$where[0].valueString); } else { where = (""); } // Grabbing start date and putting in form YYYYmmdd. • Ajax/PHP contact form not able to send mail

    - by Steph
    The funny thing is it did work for one evening. I contacted my host, and they are saying there's no reason it should not be working. I have also attempted to test it in Firebug, but it seemed to be sending. And I specifically put the email address (hosted in my domain) on my email safe list, so that is not the culprit either. Would anyone here take a look at it for me? I'd be so grateful. In the header I have: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { var options = { target: '#alert' }; $('#contactForm').ajaxForm(options); }); $.fn.clearForm = function() { return this.each(function() { var type = this.type, tag = this.tagName.toLowerCase(); if (tag == 'form') return $(':input',this).clearForm(); if (type == 'text' || type == 'password' || tag == 'textarea') this.value = ''; else if (type == 'checkbox' || type == 'radio') this.checked = false; else if (tag == 'select') this.selectedIndex = -1; }); }; </script> Here is the actual form: <form id="contactForm" method="post" action="sendmail.php"> <fieldset> <p>Email Me</p> <div id="fieldset_container"> <label for="name">Your Name:</label> <input type="text" name="name" id="name" /><br /><br /> <label for="email">Email:</label> <input type="text" name="email" id="email" /><br /><br /> <span style="display:none;"> <label for="last">Honeypot:</label> <input type="text" name="last" value="" id="last" /> </span><br /><br /> <label for="message">Comments &amp; Inquiries:</label> <textarea name="message" id="message" cols="" rows=""></textarea><br/> </div> <div id="submit_button"> <input type="submit" name="submit" id="submit" value="Send It" /> </div> </fieldset> </form> <div class="message"><div id="alert"></div></div> Here is the code from my validating page, sendmail.php: <?php // Who you want to recieve the emails from the form.     I'm using IE 8 and the jquery smart wizard version 3.2.0. I've noticed when enclose the smart wizard within an additional <div> tag (with the intent of displaying the wizard within a jquery dialog popup), the wizard will not advance steps when a function is specified for the onLeaveStep event. And now for the code: The javascript setting up the wizard: $('#wizard').smartWizard({ transitionEffect: 'slideleft', onLeaveStep: leaveAStepCallback, onFinish: onFinishCallback}); Simple functions associated with the events for the wizard: // wizard functions function leaveAStepCallback(obj) { // Get current step var step_num = obj.attr('rel'); // get the current step number } function onFinishCallback() { alert('Finish Called'); } function showStep(obj) { // Get current step var step_num = obj.attr('rel'); // get the current step number } And the HTML markup (I removed the step content within the <p> tags for brevity - this resulted it the same lack of functionality as if there was content within, so that can be ruled out) <div id="wizDialog"> <div id="wizard" class="swMain"> <ul> <li><a href="#step-1"> <label class="stepNumber">1</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 1<br /> <small>Step 1 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-2"> <label class="stepNumber">2</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 2<br /> <small>Step 2 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-3"> <label class="stepNumber">3</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 3<br /> <small>Step 3 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-4"> <label class="stepNumber">4</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 4<br /> <small>Step 4 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-5"> <label class="stepNumber">5</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 5<br /> <small>Step 5 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-6"> <label class="stepNumber">6</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 6<br /> <small>Step 6 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-7"> <label class="stepNumber">7</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 7<br /> <small>Step 7 - </small> </span> </a></li> <li><a href="#step-8"> <label class="stepNumber">8</label> <span class="stepDesc"> Step 8<br /> <small>Step 8 - </small> </span> </a></li> </ul> <div id="step-1"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 1 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-2"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 2 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-3"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 3 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-4"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 4 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-5"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 5 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-6"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 6 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-7"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 7 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> <div id="step-8"> <h2 class="StepTitle">Step 8 Content</h2> <p> </p> </div> </div> </div> Has anyone had similar results with this? Or have an explanation why the wizard will not work when nested within additional <div> tags?

  • PHP Multiple User Login Form - Navigation to Different Pages Based on Login Credentials

    - by Zulu Irminger
    I am trying to create a login page that will send the user to a different index.php page based on their login credentials. For example, should a user with the "IT Technician" role log in, they will be sent to "index.php", and if a user with the "Student" role log in, they will be sent to the "student/index.php" page. I can't see what's wrong with my code, but it's not working... I'm getting the "wrong login credentials" message every time I press the login button. My code for the user login page is here: <?php session_start(); if (isset($_SESSION["manager"])) { header("location: http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/index.php"); exit(); } ?> <?php if (isset($_POST["username"]) && isset($_POST["password"]) && isset($_POST["role"])) { $manager = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["username"]); $password = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["password"]); $role = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["role"]); include "adminscripts/connect_to_mysql.php"; $sql = mysql_query("SELECT id FROM Users WHERE username='$manager' AND password='$password' AND role='$role' LIMIT 1"); $existCount = mysql_num_rows($sql); if (($existCount == 1) && ($role == 'IT Technician')) { while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql)) { $id = $row["id"]; } $_SESSION["id"] = $id; $_SESSION["manager"] = $manager; $_SESSION["password"] = $password; $_SESSION["role"] = $role; header("location: http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/index.php"); } else { echo 'Your login details were incorrect. Please try again <a href="http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/index.php">here</a>'; exit(); } } ?> <?php if (isset($_POST["username"]) && isset($_POST["password"]) && isset($_POST["role"])) { $manager = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["username"]); $password = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["password"]); $role = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_POST["role"]); include "adminscripts/connect_to_mysql.php"; $sql = mysql_query("SELECT id FROM Users WHERE username='$manager' AND password='$password' AND role='$role' LIMIT 1"); $existCount = mysql_num_rows($sql); if (($existCount == 1) && ($role == 'Student')) { while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql)) { $id = $row["id"]; } $_SESSION["id"] = $id; $_SESSION["manager"] = $manager; $_SESSION["password"] = $password; $_SESSION["role"] = $role; header("location: http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/student/index.php"); } else { echo 'Your login details were incorrect. Please try again <a href="http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/index.php">here</a>'; exit(); } } ?> And the form that the data is pulled from is shown here: <form id="LoginForm" name="LoginForm" method="post" action="http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/user_login.php"> User Name:<br /> <input type="text" name="username" id="username" size="50" /><br /> <br /> Password:<br /> <input type="password" name="password" id="password" size="50" /><br /> <br /> Log in as: <select name="role" id="role"> <option value="">...</option> <option value="Head">Head</option> <option value="Deputy Head">Deputy Head</option> <option value="IT Technician">IT Technician</option> <option value="Pastoral Care">Pastoral Care</option> <option value="Bursar">Bursar</option> <option value="Secretary">Secretary</option> <option value="Housemaster">Housemaster</option> <option value="Teacher">Teacher</option> <option value="Tutor">Tutor</option> <option value="Sanatorium Staff">Sanatorium Staff</option> <option value="Kitchen Staff">Kitchen Staff</option> <option value="Parent">Parent</option> <option value="Student">Student</option> </select><br /> <br /> <input type="submit" name = "button" id="button" value="Log In" onclick="javascript:return validateLoginForm();" /> </h3> </form> Once logged in (and should the correct page be loaded, the validation code I have at the top of the script looks like this: <?php session_start(); if (!isset($_SESSION["manager"])) { header("location: http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/user_login.php"); exit(); } $managerID = preg_replace('#[^0-9]#i', '', $_SESSION["id"]); $manager = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_SESSION["manager"]); $password = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_SESSION["password"]); $role = preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z0-9]#i', '', $_SESSION["role"]); include "adminscripts/connect_to_mysql.php"; $sql = mysql_query("SELECT id FROM Users WHERE username='$manager' AND password='$password' AND role='$role' LIMIT 1"); $existCount = mysql_num_rows($sql); if ($existCount == 0) { header("location: http://www.zuluirminger.com/SchoolAdmin/index.php"); exit(); } ?> Just so you're aware, the database table has the following fields: id, username, password and role. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks, Zulu

  • Ajax, Multiple Attachments and Paperclip question.

    - by dustmoo
    Alright everyone this is a bit of a complicated setup so if I need to clarify the question just let me know. I have a model: class IconSet < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :icon_graphics end This Model has many icongraphics: class IconGraphic < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :icon_set has_attached_file :icon has_attached_file :flagged end As you can see, IconGraphic has two attached files, basically two different versions of the icon that I want to load. Now, this setup is working okay if I edit the icongraphic's individually, however, for ease of use, I have all the icon graphics editable under the IconSet. When you edit the icon set the form loads a partial for the icongraphics: <% form_for @icon_set, :html => {:class => 'nice', :multipart => true} do |f| %> <fieldset> <%= f.error_messages %> <p> <%= f.label :name %> <%= f.text_field :name, :class => "text_input" %> </p> <!-- Loaded Partial for icongraphics --> <div id="icon_graphics"> <%= render :partial => 'icon_graphic', :collection => @icon_set.icon_graphics %> </div> <div class="add_link"> <%= link_to_function "Add an Icon" do |page| page.insert_html :bottom, :icon_graphics, :partial => 'icon_graphic', :object => IconGraphic.new end %> </div> <p><%= f.submit "Submit" %></p> </fieldset> <% end %> This is based largely off of Ryan's Complex Forms Railscast. The partial loads the file_field forms: <div class="icon_graphic"> <% fields_for "icon_set[icon_graphic_attributes][]", icon_graphic do |icon_form|-%> <%- if icon_graphic.new_record? -%> <strong>Upload Icon: </strong><%= icon_form.file_field :icon, :index => nil %><br/> <strong>Upload Flagged Icon: </strong><%= icon_form.file_field :flagged, :index => nil %> <%= link_to_function image_tag('remove_16.png'), "this.up('.icon_graphic').remove()"%><br/> <% else -%> <%= image_tag icon_graphic.icon.url %><br/> <strong>Replace <%= icon_graphic.icon_file_name %>: </strong><%= icon_form.file_field :icon, :index => nil %><br /> <% if icon_graphic.flagged_file_name.blank? -%> <strong>Upload Flagged Icon: </strong><%= icon_form.file_field :flagged, :index => nil %> <% else -%> <strong>Replace <%= icon_graphic.flagged_file_name %>: </strong><%= icon_form.file_field :flagged, :index => nil %> <%= icon_form.hidden_field :flagged, :index => nil %> <% end -%> <%= link_to_function image_tag('remove_16.png'), "mark_for_destroy(this, '.icon_graphic')"%><br/> <%= icon_form.hidden_field :id, :index => nil %> <%= icon_form.hidden_field :icon, :index => nil %> <%= icon_form.hidden_field :should_destroy, :index => nil, :class => 'should_destroy' %> <br/><br/> <%- end -%> <% end -%> </div> Now, this is looking fine when I add new icons, and fill both fields. However, if I edit the IconSet after the fact, and perhaps try to replace the icon with a new one, or if I uploaded only one of the set and try to add the second attachment, paperclip doesn't put the attachments with the right IconGraphic Model. It seems that even though I have the IconGraphic ID in each partial, <%= icon_form.hidden_field :id, :index => nil %> it seems that paperclip either creates a new IconGraphic or attaches it to the wrong one. This all happens when you save the IconSet, which is setup to save the IconGraphic attributes. I know this is complicated.. I may just have to go to editing each icon individually, but if anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

  • Nested form problem in Rails : NoMethodError in Show

    - by brianheys
    I'm trying to build a simple product backlog application to teach myself Rails. For each product, there can be multiple product backlog entries, so I want to create a product view that shows the product information, all the backlog entries for the product, and includes a nested form for adding more backlog entries. Everything works until I try to add the form to the view, which then results in the following error: NoMethodError in Products#show Showing app/views/products/show.html.erb where line #29 raised: undefined method `pblog_ref' for #<Product:0x10423ba68> Extracted source (around line #29): 26: <%= f.error_messages %> 27: <p> 28: <%= f.label :pblog_ref %><br /> 29: <%= f.text_field :pblog_ref %> 30: </p> 31: <p> 32: <%= f.label :product %><br /> The product view where the problem is reported is as follows (the partial works fine, so I won't include that code): <h1>Showing product</h1> <p> <b>Product ref:</b> <%=h @product.product_ref %> </p> <p> <b>Description:</b> <%=h @product.description %> </p> <p> <b>Owner:</b> <%=h @product.owner %> </p> <p> <b>Status:</b> <%=h @product.status %> </p> <h2>Product backlog</h2> <div id="product-backlog"> <%= render :partial => @product.product_backlogs %> </div> <% form_for(@product, ProductBacklog.new) do |f| %> <%= f.error_messages %> <p> <%= f.label :pblog_ref %><br /> <%= f.text_field :pblog_ref %> </p> <p> <%= f.label :product %><br /> <%= f.text_field :product %> </p> <p> <%= f.label :description %><br /> <%= f.text_field :description %> </p> <p> <%= f.label :owner %><br /> <%= f.text_field :owner %> </p> <p> <%= f.label :status %><br /> <%= f.text_field :status %> </p> <p> <%= f.submit 'Create' %> </p> <% end %> <%= link_to 'Edit', edit_product_path(@product) %> | <%= link_to 'Back', products_path %> This is the Product model: class Product < ActiveRecord::Base validates_presence_of :product_ref, :description, :owner has_many :product_backlogs end This is the ProductBacklog model: class ProductBacklog < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :product end These are the routes: map.resources :product_backlogs map.resources :products, :has_many => :product_backlogs I've checked what I'm doing against the Creating a weblog in 15 minutes with Rails 2 screencast, and in principle I seem to be doing the same thing as him - only his nested comments form works, and mine doesn't! I hope someone can help with this, before I turn mad! I'm sure it's something trivial.

  • Help with shopping cart in javascript

    - by user228390
    Hey guys, I'm having problems with my shopping cart. What I am trying to do is make a function that will add an item the cart and then and function that will view the cart and show the details. But what I have got so far does not do that, it just simply adds and goes straight to view cart. Also I wanted to store the name of each items in different global arrays (name, price and sum) but I can't get it work that way. Can any help me overcome this problem? Edit: I've tried to get it to work by adding some more items and attaching it to another html page, but now the code does not seem to work at all , before it showed the price and total and now I get nothing . javascript code function round_total (c) { var pennies = c * 100; pennies = Math.round(pennies); var strPennies = "" + pennies; var len = strPennies.length; return parseFloat(strPennies.substring(0, len - 2) + "." + strPennies.substring(len - 2, len)); } // End of round_total function. /* Start of generate_page function. */ function generate_page (form) { tax = 0.08; delivery_p = 2.99; var odate = new Date(); var qty = form.quantity.value; var product_v = new String(form.product.value); var total_price = product_v.substr(product_v.indexOf("$") + 1, product_v.length - product_v.indexOf("$")); var price_without_tax = round_total(qty * total_price); var ttax = round_total(price_without_tax * tax); var delivery = round_total(qty * delivery_p); var total_p = round_total(price_without_tax + ttax + delivery); document.writeln("Quantity: " + qty + "<br>"); document.writeln("Price: $" + total_price + "<br>"); document.writeln("Delivery: $" + delivery + "<br>"); document.writeln("Total: $" + total_p + "<br>"); document.writeln("Order placed on: " + odate.toGMTString()); } function calculate() { round_total (c)(); generate_page (form)(); } HTML code: Shopping cart Welcome, Guest Login Sign Up Stay Updated: Subscribe via RSS Email Updates <div id="header"> <div id="branding" class="container"> <h1>The Finest Toy<br /> Store Online</h1> <p class="desc">If you're looking for a toy shop then look no further.<br/> Go on, treat the kids with our huge selection of<br/>online toy shops selling toys for all ages.</p> </div><!-- end branding --> <div id="navigation"> <ul id="menu" class="container"> <li><a href="#">HOME</a></li> <li><a href="#">ABOUT</a></li> <li><a href="#">Online Store</a></li> <li><a href="#">CONTACT</a></li> </ul> </div><!-- end navigation --> </div><!-- end header --> Shopping Cart Nintendo DS Xbox Product: Console £149.99 Console + Games £169.99 Quantity: Product: Console £149.99 Console + Games £169.99 Quantity:     Playstation 3 Wii Product: Console £149.99 Console + Games £169.99 Quantity:   Product: Console £149.99 Console + Games £169.99 Quantity:        <input type="submit" value="Add to cart" name="submit" onClick="cart()";/><input , type="reset" value="Reset" name="reset" Copyright © 2010 shopping cart. • How to convert html textfield/area data to server-side txt file? [closed]

    - by olijake
    How can I make a script that will convert the text/data in a html textfield/textarea and send it to the server, which then saves it as a .txt file for storage? NOTE: I am hosting a website(for testing purposes) using Apache 2.2 on a Windows 7 machine. I downloaded PHP version 5.4.7, but have not yet installed on my server yet (not sure if I will need it, but also not sure how to install it). 1st problem: Saving text to server Html page/section with title textfield, text textarea, and submit button. You would enter a title, the text/notes you need in the textfield, then press the submit button to have it store the text in the textarea, as a .txt file on the server called .txt. 2nd problem: Opening text from server Html with list of all txt files OR textfield for entering in title, then submit button to send the title of the requested .txt file to the server, which would then load it up on the page. Here is what I have so far: (let me know if there is something that I should change or if something just isn't correct in the index.html code I have right now.) <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <title>Insert Title</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="Text/HTML; charset=UTF-8"/> </head> <body> <form method="post" action="save.INSERT_FILETYPE" name="textfile" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="text" name="title"><br/> <textarea rows="20" cols="100" id="text" name="text"></textarea><br/> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit Text to Server"> </form><br/> <hr style="width: 100%; height: 4px;"><br/> <form method="post" action="open.INSERT_FILETYPE" name="textfile" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="text" name="title"><br/> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit Txt File Request"> </form><br/> <div>Opened text file displays here or goes on another page</div> </body> </html> I plan on using a server side language/script, but ANYTHING that gets the job done is fine. I already tried looking into using some ASP/jScript/PHP, but have had some trouble implementing it into my server. (ie: getting the modules loaded and telling the server what file types to parse.) I know this may be an extremely easy fix, but then in that case, hopefully you wouldn't mind helping me out a little :). If it turns out that this is MUCH more complicated than I expect, then feel free to let me know that, so I don't waste me time running in circles. I appreciate any help/assistance that you can provide, Thanks, Jake EDIT: Wrong Apache version. In response to the comments/closing of this thread: My question: "How exactly do I install the PHP module on the apache server? and is this even possible? and is this even recommended?" ^ In case I wasn't clear enough already To Clarify: I understand the basics of PHP, I just have trouble with INSTALLING PHP on the apache server. (I have used PHP before, but never successfully on apache (so far...)) For my script I wrote something similar to this already (using fopen() and a few other commands): <?php fopen("notes.txt", "r"); file_put_contents("notes.txt",teststring1); ?> I have used javascript for this task before also (although I prefer using PHP and server-side languages): <script language="javascript"> function WriteToFile(){ var fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject"); var s = fso.CreateTextFile("C:\\NewFile.txt", true); var text=document.getElementById("TextArea1").innerText; s.WriteLine(text); s.WriteLine('***********************'); s.Close(); } </script>

  • Why will my AdRotator not display images? (Image paths are correct)

    - by KSwift87
    Hi. I'm writing a simple web application in C# and I've gotten to the part where I must add an AdRotator object and link four images to it. I have done this, but no matter what I do the images will not show up; only the alternate text. It makes no sense because the paths are correct. Supposedly AdRotator controls are really simple to use... But anyway below is my code. • Animated background image in a hidden <div> doesn't load or loads not animated

    - by Guanche
    Hello, I have spent the whole day trying to make a script which on "submit" hides the form and shows hidden with animated progress bar. The problem is that Internet Explorer doesn't show animated gif images in hidden divs. The images are static. I visited many websites and found a script which uses: document.getElementById(id).style.backgroundImage = 'url(/images/load.gif)'; Finally, my script works in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera but... Google Chrome doesn't display the image at all. I see only div text. After many tests I discovered the following: the only way to see the background image in Google Chrome is to include the same image somewhere in the page (outside of hidden div) with 1px dimensions: <img src="/images/load.gif" width="1" heigh="1" /> This did the trick but... after this dirty solution Microsoft Explorer for some reason shows the image as static again. So, my question is: is there any way how to force Gogle Chrome to show the image? Thanks. This is my script: <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> function ver (id, elementId){ if (document.getElementById('espera').style.visibility == "visible") { return false; }else{ var esplit = document.forms[0]['userfile'].value.split("."); ext = esplit[esplit.length-1]; if (document.forms[0]['userfile'].value == '') { alert('Please select a file'); return false; }else{ if ((ext.toLowerCase() == 'jpg')) { document.getElementById(id).style.position = 'absolute'; document.getElementById(id).style.display = 'inline'; document.getElementById(id).style.visibility = "visible"; document.getElementById(id).style.backgroundImage = 'url(/images/load.gif)'; document.getElementById(id).style.height = "100px"; document.getElementById(id).style.backgroundColor = '#f3f3f3'; document.getElementById(id).style.backgroundRepeat = "no-repeat"; document.getElementById(id).style.backgroundPosition = "50% 50%"; var element; if (document.all) element = document.all[elementId]; else if (document.getElementById) element = document.getElementById(elementId); if (element && element.style) element.style.display = 'none'; return true; }else{ alert('This is not a jpg file'); return false; } } } } </script> <div id="frmDiv"> <form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="/upload.php" method="post" name="upload3" onsubmit="return ver('espera','frmDiv');"> <input type="hidden" name="max_file_size" value="4194304" /> <table border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="2" width="100%"> <tr bgcolor="#f5f5f5"> <td>File (jpg)</td> <td> <input type="file" name="userfile" class="upf" /></td></tr> <tr bgcolor="#f5f5f5"> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td> <input class="upf2" type="submit" name="add" value="Upload" /> </td></tr></table></form> </div> <div id="espera" style="display:none;text-align:center;float:left;width:753px;">&nbsp;<br />&nbsp;<br />&nbsp;<br />&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;<br />Please wait...<br />&nbsp; </div>

  • Bug in CF9: values for unique struct keys referenced and overwritten by other keys.

    - by Gin Doe
    We've run into a serious issue with CF9 wherein values for certain struct keys can be referenced by other keys, despite those other keys never being set. See the following examples: Edit: Looks like it isn't just something our servers ate. This is Adobe bug-track ticket 81884: http://cfbugs.adobe.com/cfbugreport/flexbugui/cfbugtracker/main.html#bugId=81884. <cfset a = { AO = "foo" } /> <cfset b = { AO = "foo", B0 = "bar" } /> <cfoutput> The following should throw an error. Instead both keys refer to the same value. <br />Struct a: <cfdump var="#a#" /> <br />a.AO: #a.AO# <br />a.B0: #a.B0# <hr /> The following should show a struct with 2 distinct keys and values. Instead it contains a single key, "AO", with a value of "bar". <br />Struct b: <cfdump var="#b#" /> This is obviously a complete show-stopper for us. I'd be curious to know if anyone has encountered this or can reproduce this in their environment. For us, it happens 100% of the time on Apache/CF9 running on Linux, both RH4 and RH5. We're using the default JRun install on Java 1.6.0_14. To see the extent of the problem, we ran a quick loop to find other naming sequences that are affected and found hundreds of matches for 2 letter key names. A similar loop found more conflicts in 3 letter names. <cfoutput>Testing a range of affected key combinations. This found hundreds of cases on our platform. Aborting after 50 here.</cfoutput> <cfscript> teststring = "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ0123456789"; stringlen = len(teststring); matchesfound = 0; matches = ""; for (i1 = 1; i1 <= stringlen; i1++) { symbol1 = mid(teststring, i1, 1); for (i2 = 1; i2 <= stringlen; i2++) { teststruct = structnew(); symbol2 = mid(teststring, i2, 1); symbolwhole = symbol1 & symbol2; teststruct[ symbolwhole ] = "a string"; for (q1 = 1; q1 <= stringlen; q1++) { innersymbol1 = mid(teststring, q1, 1); for (q2 = 1; q2 <= stringlen; q2++) { innersymbol2 = mid(teststring, q2, 1); innersymbolwhole = innersymbol1 & innersymbol2; if ((i1 != q1 || i2 != q2) && structkeyexists(teststruct, innersymbolwhole)) { // another affected pair of keys! writeoutput ("<br />#symbolwhole# = #innersymbolwhole#"); if (matchesfound++ > 50) { // we've seen enough abort; } } } } } } </cfscript> And edit again: This doesn't just affect struct keys but names in the variables scope as well. At least the variables scope has the presence of mind to throw an error, "can't load a null": <cfset test_b0 = "foo" /> <cfset test_ao = "bar" /> <cfoutput> test_b0: #test_b0# <br />test_ao: #test_ao# </cfoutput>

  • Oracle Unicode problem when using NLS_CHARACTERSET is WE8ISO8859P1 and NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET is AL16UTF16, and ColdFusion as programming language

    - by tsurahman
    I have 2 Oracle 10g database, XE and Enterprise XE Enterprise and this are the data type I've use in the test table and then I tried to test to insert some Unicode char from http://www.sustainablegis.com/unicode/ and the results are XE Enterprise for this test, I use ColdFusion 9 developer edition <cfprocessingDirective pageencoding="utf-8"> <cfset setEncoding("form","utf-8")> <form action="" method="post"> Unicode : <br> <textarea name="txaUnicode" id="txaUnicode" cols="50" rows="10"></textarea> <br><br> Language : <br> <input type="Text" name="txtLanguage" id="txtLanguage"> <br><br> <input type="Submit"> </form> <cfset dsn = "theDSN"> <cfif StructKeyExists(FORM, "FIELDNAMES")> <cfquery name="qryInsert" datasource="#dsn#"> INSERT INTO UNICODE ( C_VARCHAR2, C_CHAR, C_CLOB, C_NVARCHAR2, LANGUAGE ) VALUES ( <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="CF_SQL_VARCHAR" value="#FORM.TXAUNICODE#">, <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="CF_SQL_CHAR" value="#FORM.TXAUNICODE#">, <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="CF_SQL_LONGVARCHAR" value="#FORM.TXAUNICODE#">, <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="CF_SQL_VARCHAR" value="#FORM.TXAUNICODE#">, <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="CF_SQL_VARCHAR" value="#FORM.TXTLANGUAGE#"> ) </cfquery> </cfif> <cfquery name="qryUnicode" datasource="#dsn#"> SELECT * FROM UNICODE ORDER BY LANGUAGE </cfquery> <table border="1"> <thead> <tr> <th>LANGUAGE</th> <th>C_VARCHAR2</th> <th>C_CHAR</th> <th>C_CLOB</th> <th>C_NVARCHAR2</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <cfoutput query="qryUnicode"> <tr> <td>#qryUnicode.LANGUAGE#</td> <td>#qryUnicode.C_VARCHAR2#</td> <td>#qryUnicode.C_CHAR#</td> <td>#qryUnicode.C_CLOB#</td> <td>#qryUnicode.C_NVARCHAR2#</td> </tr> </cfoutput> </tbody> </table> from this guide http://www.stanford.edu/dept/itss/docs/oracle/10g/server.101/b10749/ch6unicode.htm#i1007297 I think for my Enterprise database it should produce same thing as XE (at least for NVARCHAR2 column) since the typical solution from that guide said: Use NCHAR and NVARCHAR2 datatypes to store Unicode characters Keep WE8ISO8859P1 as the database character set Use AL16UTF16 as the national character set So, how to make it works too in my Enterprise database? Thank you :)
