    Here i have a column chart of binomial distribution, showing how many times you can expect to roll a six in 235 dice rolls: Note: You could also call it a binomial mass distribution for p=1/6, n=235 Now that graph is kinda squooshed. i'd like to change the Minimum and Maximum on the horizontal axis. i'd like to change them to: Minimum: 22 Maximum: 57 Meaning i want to zoom in on this section of the graph: Bonus points to the reader who can say how the numbers 22 and 57 were arrived at If this were a Scatter graph in Excel, i could adjust the horizintal axis minimum and maximum as i desired: Unfortunately, this is a Column chart, where there are no options to adjust the minimum and maximum limits of the ordinate axis: i can do a pretty horrible thing to the graph in Photoshop, but it's not very useful afterwards: Question: how to a change the x-axis minimum and maximum of a Column chart in Excel (2007)?

    Hi, I want to create a normal AlertDialog. I used the example provided by the android dev docs. I just changed the DIALOG_PAUSED_ID to DIALOG_DELETEDB.   • Calculating intraday candlesticks by time intervals

    This maybe an over asked question, but my mind draws blank at this moment. I know what a candlestick chart is and how to draw it daily. But how to draw it intraday at asked time periods. I have this server, written in Java, that gives me trade depth (each trade done since the start of the day). Its just a stream of raw data: price, shares, timestamp. How does one go about calculating candlestick data from that? Lets say, they want to have 5 min candlestick or 1min candlestick. Or is there a library that will do that for me if I feed it data? Any help is appreciated!

    How do i plot a vertical axis with variable intervals? on a Flex Chart. I want to plot a data set that has values from 0.1 to 800. When I use a standard Numerical Axis, I have to define a interval. I tried using Log-Axis, but I am not sure how to plot the point values. Looks like something in lines of semi-log axis would be better. A axis with initial values in Numerical, but later shifting gears to a Log-Axis. Any ideas or pointers to implement this in Flex?

You can download the new release directly from http://AjaxControlToolkit.CodePlex.com – or, just fire the following command from the Visual Studio Library Package Manager Console Window (NuGet): Install-Package AjaxControlToolkit You also can view the new chart controls by visiting the “live” Ajax Control Toolkit Sample Site. 5 New Ajax Control Toolkit Chart Controls The Ajax Control Toolkit contains five new chart controls: the AreaChart, BarChart, BubbleChart, LineChart, and PieChart controls. Here is a sample of each of the controls: AreaChart: BarChart: BubbleChart: LineChart: PieChart: We realize that people love to customize the appearance of their charts so all of the chart controls include properties such as color properties. The chart controls render the chart on the browser using SVG. The chart controls are compatible with any browser which supports SVG including Internet Explorer 9 and new and recent versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari. (If you attempt to display a chart on a browser which does not support SVG then you won’t get an error – you just won’t get anything). Updates to the HTML Sanitizer If you are using the HtmlEditorExtender on a public-facing website then it is really important that you enable the HTML Sanitizer to prevent Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. The HtmlEditorExtender uses the HTML Sanitizer by default. The HTML Sanitizer strips out any suspicious content (like JavaScript code and CSS expressions) from the HTML submitted with the HtmlEditorExtender. We followed the recommendations of OWASP and ha.ckers.org to identify suspicious content. We updated the HTML Sanitizer with this release to protect against new types of XSS attacks. The HTML Sanitizer now has over 220 unit tests. The Ajax Control Toolkit team would like to thank Gil Cohen who helped us identify and block additional XSS attacks. Change in Ajax Control Toolkit Version Format We ran out of numbers. The Ajax Control Toolkit was first released way back in 2006. In previous releases, the version of the Ajax Control Toolkit followed the format: Release Year + Date. So, the previous release was 60919 where 6 represented the 6th release year and 0919 represent September 19. Unfortunately, the AssembyVersion attribute uses a UInt16 data type which has a maximum size of 65,534. The number 70123 is bigger than 65,534 so we had to change our version format with this release. Fortunately, the AssemblyVersion attribute actually accepts four UInt16 numbers so we used another one. This release of the Ajax Control Toolkit is officially version 7.0123. This new version format should work for another 65,000 years. And yes, I realize that 7.0123 is less than 60,919, but we ran out of numbers. Summary I hope that you find the chart controls included with this latest release of the Ajax Control Toolkit useful. Let me know if you use them in applications that you build.     I wanted to install tomcat on my Debian 6.0.4 machine. I tried apt-get install tomcat6-user which worked fine.     Having seen some suggestions for graphs, I wonder what's the optimum for my problem. I want to render a directed graph to a servlet/picture that is displayed in the browser. There should be some kind of optimization of position. No dependency to Swing would be preferred. Algorithms are not important, since the structure of the graph is determined by business logic. It would be desired to be able add labels to edges as well. it would be optimal if i can serve this as png/svg. Which library/service would you recommend? clarifications: 1) The question is all about Graphs - like Directed Acyclic Graph - NOT - Charts. 2) flot, Google Charts - cannot plot graphs, only charts, or have i missed something? 3) no i do not need interactivity 4) graphviz would be nice, but the grappa java library is quite outdated and is built upon swing/awt. while it may be theoretically possible to render swing to images, it would not be my favorite way to to so in a server-app. 5) it would be fine to use an online service where the images are not hosted locally. edit: added links to Wikipedia to clarify graph/chart term

    Hi, I'm planning a laboratorial experiment to assess behavior of groups when programming using some tools under study. For that, I'll need to capture their entire screen to disk. Mostly, what will be displayed is code, so I'm not to worried with image quality. However, it's paramount that the team is not able to stop the recording by accident, and the tool should be rebust enough to hold at least 3h of video. If possible, it would be nice for researchers in other rooms to "watch" the video as it is recording. Actually, this last requirement reminded me that I could use a VNC recording software, and install a VNC client in each laboratory computer. Anyway, what is your experience with this? Which software do you recommend? Thanks.

    I'm trying to answer the following question out of personal interest: What is the fastest way to send 100,000 HTTP requests in Python? I can see that the DelayedCall instances are in reactor._newTimedCalls, but processResponse never gets called.     Hi, I have written a very simple control. C# Visual Studio 2008. Its output should be, and is a dll. I have added a reference to the dll within the project that I intend to use it with. The msdn article about how to write a control states that it should appear in the 'Add reference / projects' list, which it doesn't but I simply navigated to it under the 'browse' tab, went to the /bin folder and added the reference that way. I dragged it over to my toolbox, but it shows up as a 'Text:xhair_tool' and when i try and add it to a form, it won't, so what have I done wrong? It was created as a 'Windows forms control' project.   • MS Access 2003 - Is there a way to programmatically define the data for a chart?

    So I have some VBA for taking charts built with the Form's Chart Wizard, and automatically inserting it into PowerPoint Presentation slides. I use those chart-forms as sub forms within a larger forms that has parameters the user can select to determine what is on the chart. The idea is that the user can determine the parameter, build the chart to his/her liking, and click a button and have it in a ppt slide with the company's background template, blah blah blah..... So it works, though it is very bulky in terms of the amount of objects I have to use to accomplish this. I use expressions such as the following: like forms!frmMain.Month&* to get the input values into the saved queries, which was fine when i first started, but it went over so well and they want so many options, that it is driving the number of saved queries/objects up. I need several saved forms with charts because of the number of different types of charts I need to have this be able to handle. SO FINALLY TO MY QUESTION: I would much rather do all this on the fly with some VBA.
