  • EasyXDM passing data issue

    I'm using rpc with XDM, and I can send simple data back and forth easily between child and parent window. But it seems to be limited to simple strings and numbers. The demos on the site only use numbers. When I try to send a json ecoded string, I get a cross domain error. When I use cors, I can make ajax requests fine, but I can't display the child page in the iframe, because the data is returned and not rendered. My question is, how can I render an iframe, and pass complex data back and forth. Or maybe I am doing something wrong?

  • iPhone: Best Method for Passing Data to and from a Server

    I am developing an iPhone application that downloads data from a website. The website database is implemented in SQL and the site itself uses the classic ASP interface. I am unsure as to which method would be best for transferring data to and from the server. Both JSON and SOAP require XML processing and I'm not sure how that affects performance or which of those two is best. What would be the best method in general for data transfer given the server configuration we currently have? I very new to this field and I'm a bit confused. Any help would be appreciated.

    This seems to work (compiler doesn't complain, anyway): float adsr[4] = {0,1.0/PULSE_SPEED, 0,1}; [sequence setBaseADSR:adsr]; but I want to make it more concise and do this: [sequence setBaseADSR:{0,1.0/PULSE_SPEED, 0,1}]; How do I do it? In javascript, I'd call stuff in the brackets an "array literal". Not sure if C languages have the same concept or terminology though.

  • Passing a var as an argument

    On a site I'm making I need to have a progress bar, I found one that suited my needs. By default it will incrementally change the color when a certain percentage is reached (0-30 red, 30-70 orange, etc). My only problem is changing them, I can set them easily with a static number such as 50, but when I try to do it dynamically (ie: 2000*.3 = 600) it fails. I don't know much js/jquery so this is especially difficult for me, if you could help that would be great. I'm pretty sure it's something really simple I'm missing. Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problem: The method nextToken() is undefined for the type String at testread.getEngineLoad(testread.java:243) at testread.readFile(testread.java:149) at testread.main(testread.java:119) so how do I get this to work? It seems to pass the variable, but nothing after the . works.

    Right, I'm trying to make an app that has a calculation that involves a stopwatch. When a button on the calculation view is clicked a stopwatch slides in from the bottom. This all works fine, the problem I can't get my head around is how to send the recorded time back to the previous controller to update a textfield.   • Passing parameters to custom RESTful routes in Rails (using :collection)

    I am trying to add a custom route to my RESTful routes using the :collection param on map.resources like so: map.resources :products, :collection => { :tagged => :get } The tagged action takes in a :tag parameter. I am able to link to the URL route using: tagged_products_path(:tag => tag.name). My issue with this is that the URL that this generates: /products/tagged?tag=electronic I would like the tag to be in the URL and not the tag, like so: /products/tagged/electronic Of course this can be accomplished by a separate named route, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something and there is a way to do this with the :collection hash.   • Maven 2.1.0 not passing on system properties to Java virtual machine

    We use the command line to pass on system properties to the Java virtual machine when running our Hudson builds on a Linux box. It used to work quite well in 2.0.9 by since we upgraded to 2.1.0 it has stopped working altogether. The system properties just never make it to the Java virtual machine. I have created a small test project and indeed it does not work at all. I have attached it in case you want to give it a go. This should work just fine with Maven 2.0.9: mvn2.0.9 -Dsystem.test.property=test test But this will fail: mvn2.1 -Dsystem.test.property=test test The Java code simply does this assertTrue( System.getProperty("system.test.property") != null); , Apr 20, 2009; 12:44pm edward eric pedersson

    I'm using Mirven's Twitter OAuth Sinatra example and trying to figure out how I can send a 'next page' parameter with the Oauth request: ie. The user attempts to visit /edit/profile which requires a login so I redirect to /request which deals with login via twitter - I now want to be able to redirect the user to the address they were originally looking for if they log in successfully. I thought I could do this in the .get_request_token line with this code: @request_token = @consumer.get_request_token({:oauth_callback => "http://#{request.host}/auth"},{:next => params['next'] || '/'}) But params has no additional items in the /auth handler. I'm new to OAuth, how would I go about doing this?

    I'm not sure how best to describe this problem... In short, I want to use object literal to allow me to pass a random amount of variables in any order to a function. Whilst this is not big deal in theory, in my code, this object literal is passed to a second function call on_change. on_change works comparing an element inner HTML to a string. if it is the same, it sets a time out of to call the function again (this is sort of/almost recursive, but the function dose actually get to end before it is called again). if the elements inner HTML is different from the string, then the third parameter is executed. this will either be a function or a string. either way it will execute. I have tested this function plenty and used it for a while now. how ever, it cannot seem to get the object literal to flow through the function calls... var params = { xpos:'false'}; on_change('window_3_cont_buffer','',' if(Window_manager.windows[3].window_cont_buffer.getElementsByTagName(\'content\')[0].getElementsByTagName(\'p\')[0].innerHTML == \'ERROR\'){ alert(Window_manager.windows[3].window_cont_buffer.getElementsByTagName(\'content\')[0].getElementsByTagName(\'p\')[1].innerHTML); return false; } else { Window_manager.windows[3].load_xml(\'location/view.php?location_ID=3\', \'\', ' + params + ' ); } '); I call this as part of the form submission. after this line, I then call a function to load some content via ajax, which works fine and will trigger the code from the on_change function. I have tested load_xml function it is able to call alert(param.xpos) and get the correct response. I can even added in a check for being undefined so that rest of the times I cam load_xml I don't get swamped with alerts. The load_xml function first set up the on_change function, then calls the function to load the content to a hidden div. Once the AJAX request has updated that DIV, the on_change function should now call the parse_xml function. This pulls out the information from the xml file. How ever... The idea of this object literal param is that it can tell this parse_xml function to ignore certain things. on_change("window_" + this.id + "_cont_buffer", "", "Window_manager.windows[" + this.id + "].parse_xml('" + param + "')"); this is part of load_xml. it works perfectly fine, even with the param bit in there. except, parse_xml dose not seem to be able to use that parameter. I have been able to get it to a point where parse_xml can alert(param) and give [object object] which I would of thought meant that the object litteral had been passed through, but when I try and call alert(param.xpos) I get undefined. I know this is a pig of a problem, and I could get around it by just having the function take a zillion boolean parameters, but its just not practical or elegant. I'm sure you will need to ask me plenty more questions before I can solve this. I will post more complete code, I just cut it down to what is actually going on. Thanks

  • Trouble passing JSP values to ActionForm (Struts)

    Hi, I am a newbie to Struts and have inherited a problem. I am trying to pass 3 values contained in the same table cell from a JSP to my ActionForm class. The first value (and others in the JSP) work fine, but for some reason the other two do not. I have the appropriate getters and setters, but only the first (newrecnum) shows up, the other two are null. Is there a limitation to only pass the first value? Or is there something else wrong?
