• Passing a SAFEARRAY from C# to COM

  I use 3rd party COM to find faces in a picture. One of the methods has the following signature, from SDK: long FindMultipleFaces( IUnknown* pIDibImage, VARIANTARG* FacePositionArray ); Parameters: pIDibImage[in] - The image to search. FacePositionArray[out]- The array of FacePosition2 objects into which face information is placed. This array is in a safe array (VARIANT) of type VT_UNKNOWN. The size of the array dictates the maximum number of faces for which to search. which translates into the following C# method signature (from metadata): int FindMultipleFaces(object pIDibImage, ref object pIFacePositions); Being optimistic I call it the following way but get an exception that the memory is corrupt. The exception is thrown only when a face is present in the image. FacePosition2[] facePositions = new FacePosition2[10]; object positions = facePositions; int faceCount = FaceLocator.FindMultipleFaces(dibImage, ref positions); What's the right way to pass SAFEARRAY to unmanaged code?

• Bean is not instantiating while using hibernate interceptor

  I am using hibernate interceptor with spring framework,but when i pass a bean reference of DAO class its not instantiating the bean. • NativeWindow WndProc not receiving messages

  Could someone shed some light on why my WndProc method as implemented below isn't receiving any messages? If I put this class below in a WinForms application and pass in that application's handle, WndProc receives messages as I would expect. However, using the IntPtr returned from GetForegroundWindow() as I have below doesn't yield the same results.   I'm trying to find out how I can do an "early return" in a scheme procedure without using a top-level if or cond like construct. (define (win b) (let* ((test (first (first b))) (result (every (lambda (i) (= (list-ref (list-ref b i) i) test)) (enumerate (length b))))) (when (and (not (= test 0)) result) test)) 0) For example, in the code above, I want win to return test if the when condition is met, otherwise return 0. However, what happens is that the procedure will always return 0, regardless of the result of the when condition. The reason I am structuring my code this way is because in this procedure I need to do numerous complex checks (multiple blocks similar to the let* in the example) and putting everything in a big cond would be very unwieldy.

• How can I set a local branch to pull / merge from a particular remote branch?

  I have a local branch foo that started life as a branch off of master. Then I pushed it to my remote, and it's now happily living life with its siblings in remotes/origin I want pull to automatically pull from remotes/origin/foo, and I want status -sb to show me how many changes I am ahead of remotes/origin/foo. I thought the way to do this was git config branch.foo.merge 'refs/heads/foo' However, after doing that, I get this message: ? git status -sb ## foo ? git pull Your configuration specifies to merge with the ref 'foo' from the remote, but no such ref was fetched. What am I doing wrong?

  I'm creating an application which communicates with the device via FT2232H USB/RS232 converter. For communication I'm using FTD2XX_NET.dll library from FTDI website. I'm using two threads: first thread continuously reads data from the device the second thread is the main thread of the Windows Form Application I've got a problem when I'm trying to write any data to the device while the receiver's thread is running. The main thread simply hangs up on ftdiDevice.Write function. I tried to synchronize both threads so that only one thread can use Read/Write function at the same time, but it didn't help. Below code responsible for the communication. Note that following functions are methods of FtdiPort class. Depending upon the server, i want to fire the log. In case of Development server, it would fire log from "emailDevelopment". I have a system variable in each server named "ApplicationEnvironment" whose value is Development, Beta, Production based on the server names. • Projecting a 3D point to 2D screen coordinate OpenTK

  Using Monotouch and OpenTK I am trying to get the screen coordinate of one 3D point. I have my world view projection matrix set up, and OpenGL makes sense of it and projects my 3D model perfectly, but how to use the same matrix to project just one point from 2D to 3D? I thought I could simply use: Vector3.Transform(ref input3Dpos, ref matWorldViewProjection, out projected2Dpos); Then have the projected screen coordinate in projected2DPos. But the resulting Vector4 does not seem to represent the proper projected screen coordinate. And I do not know how to calculate it from there on.

Range parameter determines the size of html fragment. Not sure what trim 0 does.

• Why is Perl's Math::Complex taking up so much time when I try acos(1)?

  While trying to profile my Perl program, I find that Math::Complex is taking up a lot of time with what looks like some kind of warning. Also, my code shouldn't have any complex numbers being generated or used, so I am not sure what it is doing in Math::Complex, anyway.   This is the webservice method i have LoadImageFromDB(int ID, ref Stream streamReturnVal) I have this on the top of the section using Stream = System.IO.MemoryStream; Whenever i consume this method(update web reference) from a web application, i get this error 'Stream' is an ambiguous reference between 'System.IO.Stream' and 'WebReference.Stream' Any thoughts? • Help needed inorder to avoid recursion

I am currently using the wrapper ( C# syntax is provided , but it is a call from a different language ) zdiff( string ref str1, string ref str2, int range , int trim ) it calls inside str1 = GetHiDiff(@str1,1,trim) str2 = GetHiDiff(@str1,2,trim) where function GetHiDiff(s:pchar; sIndex:integer; wtrim:integer): pchar; stdcall; What it does it returns a left fragment html of str1 and a right html fragment of str2 with diffs highlighted as strings are passed by reference. Range parameter determines the size of html fragment. Not sure what trim 0 does.

I made a maven multi module project with the following modules: /api /domain /repositories /webapp I like to share the domain and the repositories between the api and the webapp (both web projects).   So, firstly, heres an atom feed snippet which i am trying to parse: // http://somelink.com/atom <feed xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom"> <entry> <title>Title Here</title> <link href="http://somelink.com/link1&amp;amp;ref=rss" rel="alternate" /> <link href="http://somelink.com/link2&amp;amp;ref=rss" rel="tag:somelink.com/apply_url"/> ... </entry> i pull the atom feed like so, // In controller index method @rss = SimpleRSS.parse open('http://somelink.com/atom') Then i output the response in the view, which i am writing using haml, as follows: - @rss.entries.each do |item| .title-div = item.title .title-link = item.link //outputs the first link I could run a second loop for the links but is there a way to get the second link without it? Like reading the "rel" attribute and outputting the correct link? How do i do this in haml/rails?
