  • How can I move an object left and right with silverlight?

    I currently have two buttons that say left and right, and I want them to move a square object left and right respectively. What its currently doing when i press left is moving the square to the left, and if I press left again, it resets from the center and goes left. I want it so that when I press left, from where ever it is currently to go left and right. I know the principle is something like get current objects position and add the canvas coordinates respectively but how do I do this?

  • Sometimes, Synaptics Touchpad Tends Cursor to Top-Right Corner

    This has been a reoccurring issue for me, pretty much since I've owned this laptop (an ASUS G60JX.) Sometimes, the cursor will stop working properly and instead tend toward the top right of the screen. Basically, sometime into my usage (maybe after a couple hours) the touchpad will inevitably begin to malfunction, where it has confusing patterns of pushing the mouse cursor toward the top right of the screen. In addition, certain features (like momentum) seem to quit working entirely. It makes using the cursor extremely difficult. I've been having this issue across very many drivers. Pretty much as soon as multitouch came into the mix, although I don't believe multitouch has anything to do with it. It appears that, in the state of malfunction, it doesn't matter how you touch the touchpad, but where you touch it. Certain regions do not seem to trigger the cursor to move to the top right corner. In fact, no specific region seems to, but some areas do so more often than others. The issue can be resolved temporarily by putting the computer into sleep mode and awakening it. I have found no way to recreate this success without sleeping the computer or rebooting. Disabling and re-enabling the touchpad device does not do anything to resolve the problem. This issue does not affect my WACOM tablet nor any USB mice, and can be resolved (not to my satisfactory) by uninstalling the touchpad drivers. I'm looking for a solution, or at least a workaround that doesn't require sleep mode.

    I have a LEFT OUTER OUTER join in LINQ that is combining with the outer join condition and not providing the desired results. It is basically limiting my LEFT side result with this combination. Here is the LINQ and resulting SQL. What I'd like is for "AND ([t2].[EligEnd] = @p0" in the LINQ query to not bew part of the join condition but rather a subquery to filter results BEFORE the join.     I have the following SQL which I am trying to translate to LINQ: SELECT f.value FROM period as p LEFT OUTER JOIN facts AS f ON p.id = f.periodid AND f.otherid = 17 WHERE p.companyid = 100 I have seen the typical implementation of the left outer join (ie. into x from y in x.DefaultIfEmpty() etc.) but am unsure how to introduce the other join condition ('AND f.otherid = 17') EDIT Why is the 'AND f.otherid = 17' condition part of the JOIN instead of in the WHERE clause? Because f may not exist for some rows and I still want these rows to be included. If the condition is applied in the WHERE clause, after the JOIN - then I don't get the behaviour I want. Unfortunately this: from p in context.Periods join f in context.Facts on p.id equals f.periodid into fg from fgi in fg.DefaultIfEmpty() where p.companyid == 100 && fgi.otherid == 17 select f.value seems to be equivalent to this: SELECT f.value FROM period as p LEFT OUTER JOIN facts AS f ON p.id = f.periodid WHERE p.companyid = 100 && AND f.otherid = 17 which is not quite what I'm after.

  • How can I force overflow: hidden to not use up my padding-right space

    I have the following code: <div style="width: 100px; overflow: hidden; border: 1px solid red; background-color: #c0c0c0; padding-right: 20px; "> 2222222222222222222222111111111111111111111111113333333333333333333</div> (XHTML 1.0 transitional) What happens is that the padding-right doesn't appear, it's occupied by the content, which means the overflow uses up the padding right space and only "cuts off" after the padding. Is there any way to force the browser to overflow before the padding-right, which means my div will show with the padding right? What I get is the first div in the following image, what i want is something like the 2nd div: image

    Hi all, I'm building an horizontal menu in html+css. The current result is fine, except I want to have some items on the left, and others on the right. I couldn't find usefull result on Google with such common keywords so I'm asking on SO. How do I get the top and left style property values (or X and Y coordinates) of each link in the array with Javascript when those values aren't given? Also, what would the code above look like in jquery? Not that it's needed - I just want to reduce the code a little and dabble in the jquery framework (I'm a Javascript newbie). Performance: I have ~50k posts and ~500k votes. On my dev machine, the above query is running in .4sec. I'd like to stay at or below this execution time.   • WM_NCHITTEST and secondary monitor to left of primary monitor

    The described setup with 2nd monitor to left of primary causes WM_NCHITTEST to send negative values which is apparently not supported according to this post. I have a custom control written in win32 that is like a Group control. It has a small clickable area. No MOUSE events are coming to my control when the window containing the custom control lies on a second monitor to the left of the primary monitor. SPY++ shows WM_NCHITTEST messages but no Mouse messages. When window is moved to primary monitor or secondary monitor is positioned to right of primary (all points are positive) then everything works fine. Below is how the WM_NCHITTEST is handled in my custom control. In general I need it to return HTTRANSPARENT so as not to obscure other controls placed inside of it.   • CSS: right wrapper dropping off the end of the page

    I have an issue with a site I am working on where the right wrapper keeps dropping down below the site. Obviously I want it to stay on the right hand side. I've coded up a test case which shows my issue (I think) and I'm wondering if there is a better way to do things. The pink box drops down if it does not fit within the page width. Is there a better way to do this?   • (UNITY3D) Get slerp to work just as LookAt(,Vector3.right) does

    Ive been working over a sidescroller shooter game. Ive got my sidescroller shooter character to look around with these : chest.LookAt(mousepos,Vector3.right); & chest.LookAt(mousepos,Vector3.left); (Left when the character is turned to the left and right when the character is turned to the right) so it wont aim in to any other axis... But when the mouse gets to cross the middle of the character and not around it it gets the rotation to make a small transportation between frames and it wont get all the way to there.. It'll just teleport to its correct rotation like lookat should. Well the question is, how do I get any quaternion slerp which works with a Time.deltTime to work as same as LookAt(,Vector3.right)? I must have the Vector3.right and left so it'll move trough 1 axis. Many thanks to anyone who helps me out. :)

    I am building a very simple jquery menu. On hover, I have a menu on the right easing to the left margin of my menu container. This is easy, as the text is left aligned within said container. However, I also have a menu on the left, and because the links (left justified) are of differing length, the best I can do is adjust the padding to ease the text a uniform amount between links. Therefor, long link text goes to the right edge of the container, buy short text only makes it about half way. In reading about this, I have learned that you can not modify the text align property as it is non numeric. Is there any other way to do this? I of course tried to go with: $('#selector').css('text-align':'right') but that made the text jump to the right instead of ease. Is there any way to ensure all links ease to the rightmost margin of the container?

  • Big square ads appear in lower right corner of both IE and Chrome

    In both IE and Chrome, large ads appear in the lower right corner of the browser window. Sometime they look reputable like for Microsoft, but sometimes they are big flashing boxes that say "You have won". Right now I am looking at "Need to lose 30 lbs?" I ran Microsofot Security Essentials and it didn't find anything. I then ran Windows Defender Offline (boot from CD). WDO found five things lincluding browser hijack that caused the wrong page to appear after clicking a link. It reported that it cleaned successfully, after which I ran a quick scan to confirm. After rebooting I still see the ads. Do I still have an infection? Any other tools to try? What about ComboFix? Thanks Update: Here's a screenshot - on superuser
