• Open Office: How to disable image link updates

  I'm writing a user manual to a card game and there is a looot of linked images. Open Office is working so slow because every time I flip to a page with linked images it starts to update them. Is it possible to tell Open Office to NOT update the links until I tell it to do so? I would like it to display the same snapshot it showed the last time I initiated link update. I'm using Open Office v3.3.0 // Thank you.

• iPhone Configuration Utility -- how to sign configuration profile? [closed]

  I've created a configuration profile but I cannot sign it using the utility v3.3. I registered an email certificate but the utility does not pick it up. Unfortunately, I've found the documentation for this tool lacking and I cannot find out how to do this properly. Can someone tell me what kind of certificate I need and how I need to install it in order for the utility to let me sign the profiles?

• How to use Moonlight to play videos on rtlmost.hu?

  Hi! In Hungary, the biggest TV channel is RTL Klub, they has a video archive site. They use Silverlight instead of Flash :( What is annoying, they use the lastest version of Silverlight, about 4.x. But Moonlight doesn't support it yet. I've been tried in Google Chrome (last dev version), and in Firefox (last stable version), and I've been used the both versions of Moonlight, the lastest stable, and the prerelease. The player loader is displayed, and loaded, but no player displayed after 30 mins waiting. If I want to swith to Ubuntu completly, how can I manage to play these videos? Thanks for your anwsers. • Uploading to a PPA using quickly

  I am trying to participate in ubuntu showdown. I followed Jono's tutorial to do a browser using quickly. I did some modifications including choosing license (gpl v3), putting my name in copy right ( without special spanish charecters since quicky does not like it) $quickly run to make sure it worked I used bazaar to commit a change with a line of comment. I packaged it using quickly. Managed to install it ignoring some warnings but it would not run. I want to share code to get feedback. I have a launchpad account, signed terms and coditions, created a ppa. I got my commandline to talk to lauchpad using the encription key. But when I run $quickly release or $quickly share and it says the project does not exist. There seems to be another command $dput ... But i don't seem to get the wording right because it requests some sort of signed file that i cannot manage to add the correct way.

  I have always liked how SfTS works, and the functionality it offers.  In an earlier assessment I wrote of their toolset, the only issue I had encountered was the migration of environment that had been created and worked on for a while in the TFS 2008 world using SfTS 2.0 to the TFS 2010 SfTS 3.0.  There were several elements (Work Items and such) that were not moving correctly. Anyway, that is now in the past! Congratulations to Crispin Parker and Team for the release of the Migration Tool.   It has been a while since I've had a blog, but I'm back into the open source dev and decided to get back into things.  I had a blog a few years back when NHibernate was infant (0.8 or something) and I was working with the Wilson ORMapper (www.ormapper.net) at the time.  Anyhow, I'm still working with NHibernate (particularily the exciting v3 alpha 1) and Castle framework. I've also written a .NET ExtDirect stack for which I'll be writing a few articles around due to its flexibility.  I decided to write yet another communication stack because all the implementations I found on the Ext forums were lacking any sort of flexibility.  So stay tuned... I'll be presenting a bunch of the extension points.

• Will upgrading disrupt online backup software (Crashplan)?

  Has anyone had any experience upgrading to Ubuntu 11.04, and how this might affect online backup software processes? Specifically, I'm currently running Ubuntu 10.10 and using Crashplan v3. Crashplan backup engine runs constantly in the background to monitor files for changes and back up accordingly. Will upgrading to Ubuntu 11.04 affect any of the Crashplan backup process? Has anyone done this successfully? I'd like to upgrade to the latest and greatest Ubuntu release, but not at the risk of affecting the backup, or worse, having to start from scratch again and upload the entire library!

• Inserting multiple links to one image in Confluence

  I am setting up a Wiki in Confluence v3.5.1 I have added a visio diagram (JPG) to a page (this diagram will take up most of the page) - This diagram depicts the workflow between developers and support and clients. I envisage users being able to click on different parts of the diagram and it to open up child pages with more details about that particular process (with videos on 'how-to' do that specific task, like log issues in Jira) However, from what I can see, there is no way from the Confluence editor to add multiple links to the one image, right? I looked at Anchors, but this does not look like it will do the job. So, what is the best option? I remember Dreamweaver having these sorts of tools built in, and there appears to be other utilities that can help put in image map HTML tags, but I cannot see a way of easily editing the HTML in Confluence editor. Also worried about the headache this could cause with managing future changes of the page.

• Wifi works but doesn't start automatically on ubuntu 11.10

  Good evening everyone, I have got an issue which I hope you will help me to solve. I was trying to update my Kernel in ubuntu from this web-site http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.2-rc4-oneiric/ And everything went smooth. But, for some reason, my wifi doesn't work in new Kernel so I decided to switch back to my old one 3.0.0-17 generic and to my surprise WIFI doesn't start automatically eventhou it was working. What I mean is that I have to click on wifi icon and put a mark Enable Wireless. This is not a really serious issue but I don't like switch on everytime at log in my WIFI because before that it was working when system started. What is the cause of this and how to fix it. Thank you very much for you help.

• How does the GPL work in regards to languages like Dart which compile to other languages?

  Google's Dart language is not supported by any Web Browsers other than a special build of Chromium known as Dartium. To use Dart for production code you need to run it through a Dart-JavaScript compiler/translator and then use the outputted JavaScript in your web application. Because JavaScript is an interpreted language everyone who receives the "binary"(Aka, the .js file) has also received the source code. Now, the GNU General Public License v3.0 states that: "The “source code” for a work means the preferred form of the work for making modifications to it." Which would imply that the original Dart code in addition to the JavaScript code must also be provided to the end user. Does this mean that any web applications written in Dart must also provide the original Dart code to all visitors of their website even though a copy of the source code has already been provided in a human readable/writable/modifiable form?

• Build Controller status Unavailable issue in TFS2010

  I ran into this problem few days back, I was not able to run the builds because the Build Controller was showing Status as Unavailable. It was showing the below exception: There was no endpoint listening at http://fullmachinename:9191/Build/v3.0/Services/Controller/2 that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details. After trying out few things, I looked at below Build Service Properties.   Then, I did below modifications to the Build Services Properties: 1)      Changed the Local Build Service Endpoint(incoming) from http://machinename.domain.com:9191 to http://machinename:9191 2)      Changed the Connect to Team Project Collection (outgoing) from localhost to machine name. http://localhost:8080/tfs/defaultCollection to http://machinename:8080/tfs/DefaultCollection   After that Started the Build Services and it fixed the issue, the Build Controller was showing Available Status and was able to run the builds.

• Out of memory on MATLAB

  I'm trying to run a script on matlab_2011a, which calculate same means for a climatology of 50 years. When I started to run the script for all the years it worked fine until the iteration 20th, and then appeared the message: Out of memory. Type HELP MEMORY for your options. Then I used clear v1 v2 v3 ... to clear all the variables inside the function, also i used clear train because i saw it in another forum, and these with the modifications or not, I run again the script (since the 21th iteration), and the result is the same message, but curiously sometimes it run a year and then stop. Any ideas about solving this problem?, what I have to clean to run correctly? (in this matlab version there's not the command memory which maybe could help me).

• An error when installing MVVM Light templates for VS10 Express

  If you tried to install the Visual Studio 2010 Express project and item templates of MVVM Light V3 SP1 (with the Windows Phone tools hotfix), you may have encountered an error when unzipping the package, telling you that a file was corrupted. This error was reported to me a couple of times, and I was able to reproduce the issue. I just published a new version that takes care of this issue. If you encountered that error when installing, please download the new version and try again. Note that the error was only there for the Visual Studio 2010 Express version of the templates. • New file in ubuntu kernel ppa repository to install?

  Googling this question hasn't brought me to anything so I decided to ask here. Recently I noticed on kernel.org that kernel 3.7 finally considered to be a stable so I decided to upgrade, since I am on 3.7 RC7 but when I opened http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.7.1-raring/ I noticed new file (actually 2 which seems to be identical) linux-headers-3.7.1-030701-omap_3.7.1-030701.201212171620_armhf.deb and linux-image-3.7.1-030701-omap_3.7.1-030701.201212171620_armhf.deb so my question is should I install those as well or continue installing only 4 files (e.g. 3 AMD64 image and headers + all headers)? Thank you.
