  • Tomcat IIS 7 Integration gives 503 errors on all requests.

    Hi, After many attempts to install Tomcat on IIS 7, I finally managed to get it working. At least I think so :-S. I finally got the 500 errors away, by setting the correct permissions. The only thing that doesn't work is ... serving stuff: neither regular stuff (like ASP, HTML files, or directory browsing) or Tomcat things work. Everything works fine if I do setenforce 0 ( set SELinux in detection only mode ) or if I do semanage permissive -a httpd_t (Set httpd_t in detection only mode) I do not want to use this on my git production server.   • What is the rationale behind Apache Jena's *everything is an interface if possible* design philosophy?

    If you are familiar with the Java RDF and OWL engine Jena, then you have run across their philosophy that everything should be specified as an interface when possible. This means that a Resource, Statement, RDFNode, Property, and even the RDF Model, etc., are, contrary to what you might first think, Interfaces instead of concrete classes. This leads to the use of Factories quite often. Since you can't instantiate a Property or Model, you must have something else do it for you --the Factory design pattern. My question, then, is, what is the reasoning behind using this pattern as opposed to a traditional class hierarchy system? It is often perfectly viable to use either one. For example, if I want a memory backed Model instead of a database-backed Model I could just instantiate those classes, I don't need ask a Factory to give me one. As an aside, I'm in the process of writing a library for manipulating Pearltrees data, which is exported from their website in the form of an RDF/XML document. As I write this library, I have many options for defining the relationships present in the Peartrees data. What is nice about the Pearltrees data is that it has a very logical class system: A tree is made up of pearls, which can be either Page, Reference, Alias, or Root pearls. My question comes from trying to figure out if I should adopt the Jena philosophy in my library which uses Jena, or if I should disregard it, pick my own design philosophy, and stick with it.

I understand that you have to change your IP from dynamic to a static IP Address but I am not sure how you achieve that step. I am looking for some assistance on this on how to enable self signing certificates, make the domain name resolve on the Internet from hosting the website on the web server, enabling protected directories and the basic commands of accessing the directory where the website files can be uploaded and available on the World Wide Web.

  • Rewriting URL for tomcat through an apache AJP connector.

    I've tried several attempts to resolve this, but all have come up naught. Currently I have apache setup to forward all urls at and past the /portal/ tag to tomcat. Unfortunately, tomcat receives these requests through /portal/appName, a subdirectory in webapps rather than the webapps root directory where my wars are deployed. Is there a simple solution to this that I'm not seeing? I've been trying to use mod_rewrite to ^/portal/ $ / but that doesn't yield the expected results (perhaps I'm doing this wrong?).

What's confusing is down below in the next steps for STA with internet access it says to use the bcmwl one. FATAL: Error running install command for wl Then I do the modprobe wl commands listed above and it gives the above listed errors. It didn't work with the broadcom-sta driver either. I installed the b43 ones but nothing happened, and I don't know why so those are still installed. firmware-b43legacy-installer, b43-fwcutter and firmware-b43-lpphy-installer (yes it is a LP-PHY) are currently installed. If I go into System Settings Software Sources Additional Drivers it says "Using Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA wireless driver source from bcmwl-kernel-source (proprietary) But bcmwl-kernel-source isn't installed. I could try again but I remember rebooting and it still said this. What's funny is it found wireless networks during the Ubuntu setup/installation, I don't remember if I got it to connect or not though. I think it kept asking for a password when I put it in (yes it was right I showed password and looked at it) so I just ignored it. But right now the Enable Wireless option in the top right is just gone, it's just Enable Networking and I'm on ethernet on this HP Pavilion dv4-1435dx right here. If I run rfkill list it shows: 0: hp-wifi: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no It was hard blocked at the beginning but unblocking it makes no change. Also it's a touch sensitive button, and it appears to be always orange no matter if it's enabled or not because when I touch it the hard blocked changes between yes and no in rfkill list. I think it was blue for a minute at one point. What is going on?!?! Help me! Lol, thanks for any and all of your time guys. Oh yeah this is Ubuntu 12.10 fresh install.

  • Proxy Error 502 "Reason: Error reading from remote server" with Apache 2.2.3 (Debian) mod_proxy and Jetty 6.1.18

    Apache is receiving requests at port :80 and proxying them to Jetty at port :8080 The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server The proxy server could not handle the request GET /. My dilemma: Everything works fine normally (fast requests, few seconds or few tens of seconds long requests are processed ok). Problems occur when request processing takes long (few minutes?). If I issue request instead directly to Jetty at port :8080 the request is processed OK. So problem is likely to sit somewhere between Apache and Jetty where I am using mod_proxy. How to solve this? I have already tried some "tricks" related to KeepAlive settings, without luck.   • A lot of 408 errors in apache logs - how to prevent them?

    I see a lot of 408 errors in my apache2 logs. I increased RequestReadTimeout and KeepAliveTimout but errors are still there. The errors look like this: xx.xx.xx.xx - - [05/Dec/2012:19:33:56 +0100] "-" 408 4561 "-" "-" xx.xx.xx.xx - - [05/Dec/2012:19:33:56 +0100] "-" 408 4561 "-" "-" I heard that these errors are related to Chrome optimization and some users did reported our site returning 408 internal error. It is interesting that we get two 408 error from same IP in sequence then it that IP start working.

Is that amount roughly within the expected range for a Social Networking site, or is it too high? If it's too high, where and how can I look to bring that average number down?     I have an Apache server that serves up mercurial repositories and it currently authenticates using ldap credentials. I want to permit a single user (to start with) to use a SSL client certificate, with all remaining users still able to use the ldap credentials authentication method. I have looked through Stack Overflow and other wider (google) searches but can not find information/guidance on how to set this up.

    I have a RHEL 5 workstation with 2 nvidia Quadro FX4500 cards, with one display attached to each card. After doing a clean install of RHEL 5.5, the second display doesnt work (it worked ok in RHEL 5.2). Neither separate X screens nor Xinerama are working. The kernel version is 2.6.18-194.el5 I've tried nvidia drivers 185.18.36 (the ones that i was using on 5.2) and the latest 260.19.36 and neither works.
