Here are some requirements for the calendar: week-view for the appointments different appointment types direct display of the length and time of the date (like in googleCalendar) multiple appointments for the same time only using javascript, php and any DB We need the calendar for the Zend Framework, so if the Calendar doesn't already support the ZF, the source needs to be editable! do you know any calendar which fits my needs? or do you have any tipps for developing one by myself?

    I can find how to define columns only when doing migrations. However i do not need to migrate my model. I want to work with it "virtually". Does AR read columns data only from db?   • CF Client Variables: is the CDATA - CGLOBAL relationship always 1:1?

    Hi We've noticed something odd with our Coldfusion 8 client variables DB. We have many more (about 3 times as many) CGlobal entries as we have CData entries. I would have assumed that the relationship would be 1:1 on the cfid column. Has any one else noticed this before? I have ruled out old data, my sample is less than 3 hours old.   • Passing around a SqlConnection

    I have created a TransactionScope and within the scope various items are created and updated in the database. During this process I make a lot of calls to the database. Originally I opened a SqlConnection in the beginning of the TransactionScope and passed it around to any function that made a DB call then I closed the connection after all the calls are made and before the transaction commits. Is it better to do this or to open and close a connection for each call?

    I've used the SQL Profiler to generate a trace file, and tuning advisor to take that trace file and provide some recommendations on db updates. However, the SQL Profiler doesn't seem to track the queries when running against a Reporting Server, the profiler doesn't seem to be capturing any of the queries. I'm logging the defaults (SQL:BatchCompleted and Starting, RPC:completed, and Sessions - Existing Connections) What events should I be capturing in SQL Profiler in order to run the tuning advisor?

    Hello, We have a need to access a DB that only allows one connection at a time. This screams "singleton" to me. The catch of course is that the singleton connection will be exposed (either directly or indirectly) via a web-service (most probable a SOAP based web-service - located on a separate server from the calling app(s) ) - which means that there may be more than one app / instance attempting to connect to the singleton class. In PHP, what is the best way to create a global singleton or a web-service singleton? TIA

    Hi, I had a problem where I was using the hibernate template to do most of my DB work but I had a part of the system that directly accessed the session to do batch persisting. I noticed that the hibernate template session was old and would be storing cached values which didnt take into account the objects save with the session directly. What are the drawbacks of using alwaysUseNewSession? This fixes the problem as I always get up-to-date objects. Thanks.

This is because application design does not want to store 8/more password entry into DB and validate new password against that. As Windows already does same thing and using LDAP we can lookup into windows server. Can any one please let me know LDAP API to fulfill above requirement in VC++.

    I'm writing a data driven WPF client. The client will typically pull data from a WCF service, which queries a SQL db, but I'd like the option to pull the data directly from SQL or other arbitrary data sources. I've come up with this design and would like to hear your opinion on whether it is the best design. First, we have some data object we'd like to extract from SQL. // The Data Object with a single property public class Customer { private string m_Name = string.Empty; public string Name { get { return m_Name; } set { m_Name = value;} } } Then I plan on using an interface which all data access layers should implement. Suppose one could also use an abstract class. Thoughts? // The interface with a single method interface ICustomerFacade { List<Customer> GetAll(); } One can create a SQL implementation. // Sql Implementation public class SqlCustomrFacade : ICustomerFacade { public List<Customer> GetAll() { // Query SQL db and return something useful // ... return new List<Customer>(); } } We can also create a WCF implementation. The problem with WCF is is that it doesn't use the same data object. It creates its own local version, so we would have to copy the details over somehow. I suppose one could use reflection to copy the values of similar fields across.     Hi, In order to avoid freezing of GUI, I wanted to run method connecting to DB asynchronously. Therefore I have written this: DelegatLoginu dl = ConnectDB; IAsyncResult ar=dl.BeginInvoke(null, null); bool result = (bool)dl.EndInvoke(ar); But it is still freezing and I do not understand why - I though BeginInvoke assures that method it references is run in another thread.
