  I would like to have users click a link that then selects the html text in another element (NOT an input). By "select" I mean the same way you would select text by dragging your mouse over it. This has been a bear to research because everyone talks about "select" or "highlight" in other terms. Is this possible?   How do I achieve this:- When user types character like 'abcd' and then '>'(an invalid character for my application), I want to set the text back to 'abcd'. Better if we can cancel the input itself as we do in winforms application. This should happen when user is typing and not on a click of button.   I know it's not what toastr (or toast notifs in general) are meant to be used for, but I want to use them as a modal notification. My idea is following. On toast show: toastr.options.onShown = function() { //Create an overlay on the entire page} Overlay: #overlay { background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.8); z-index: 999; position: absolute; left: 0; top: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; display: none; } And on toast close: toastr.options.onHidden = function() { //make overlay go away } Also, I'm setting timeout of toast to 0 so it won't disappear by itself. Question: I want the toast notification to stay atop the overlay and not behind it as overlay will cover everything. How can I do it?

  I want to write some code that allows me to replace jQuery's animate function with one that does different things, but still allows me to call a secondary function on completion. At the moment, I'm writing lots of code like this; if (cssTransitions) { $("#content_box").css("height",0); window.setTimeout(function() { secondFunction(); }, 600); } else { $("#content_box").animate({ height:0 }, 600, function() { secondFunction(); }); } I'd much rather write a function that looks like this: function slideUpContent(object) { if (cssTransitions) { object.css("height",0); // Not sure how I get a callback here } else { $("#content_box").animate({ height:0 }, 600, function() { }); } } That I could use like this: slideUpContent("#content_box", function(){ secondFunction(); }); But I'm not sure how to get the functionality I need - namely a way to run another function once my one has completed.   My coding isnt linking properly , its meant to use jquery to detect the OS and change the link accordingly , however it isn't. For now, I don't have to think about when the most duplicate values are more than one such as [3, 7, 7, 7]. All the values are a number. I looked around the web. I found several ways to make an array to become uniq(). But I haven't found a way to get the duplicate value. I am using jQuery, but raw JavaScript is fine for this task.

In this div i could show just about anything including a form, image, or some text so it becomes sort of stylish alert box. So how to: Center a div across all browsers and behind this div put a transparent background covering entire screen of browser.   I have a problem with an animation in jQuery using ajax. On the click of an button (actually an tag), I call a ajax method, and have the following written inside the success parameter: success: function(msg) { $('.ContentsMainRight').children().fadeOut(500, function() { $('.ContentsMainRight').html(msg.d); $('.ContentsMainRight').children().fadeIn(1000); }); }, This have the following result. The contents of a div fade out over 500ms as it's supposed to. Then the html contents of the div are swapped, but then the last part did not work as I hoped. The html returned by the ajax method include some text inside a tag, and a image inside a tag. The result is that the text is automatically displayed instantly with no fadein, but the img that is put fades in over 1 second. Why is the text and image treated differently? -Daemon

• Multible jquery .load() methods not running concurrently in MVC 2

  In one of my aspx pages i have something like this in the head: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { // Jquery stuff loadStuff(); }); function loadStuff() { $('#result1').load({ source: url }); $('#result2').load({ source: url }); $('#result3').load({ source: url }); }; </script> The idea being that as the page is being displayed these loads will populate the specified divs with results from different webservices as and when the info becomes available. My problem is that this requests are being queued and being sent one at a time. However I want these to be sent at the same time and whichever returns first gets displayed first! Also if I try to kick off another request while these divs are loading the request seems to get queued after the others. How do I make these requests concurrent instead of queued? Thanks

  I have two radio buttons each with a unique ID. When one is clicked, I would like to add $10 to a total. When the other is clicked, we go back to the original total price. My jquery looks like this: function check_ceu() { var price = <%= conference_price %>; if($('#ceu_yes').is(':checked')){ $('#total').val(parseFloat(price) + 10) } else{ $('#total').val(price) } } I have this function bound to document.ready (for page refreshes) and also the onchange handler of the radio buttons. In FF and Chrome this works fine. In IE, when the radio button with ID of "ceu_yes" is checked nothing happens, then when clicking back to the other radio button, 10 is added. So in essence, IE has the checkbox functionality reversed. Below is my code for the buttons: <input type="radio" name="ceu" id="ceu_yes" value="1" onchange="check_ceu()" /> $10 <input type="radio" name="ceu" id="ceu_no" value="0" checked="checked" onchange="check_ceu()" /> No, thank you Any ideas on this?

• Spring / Hibernate project with Tomcat and JQuery.

  Hi, I have a Dynamic Web Project that implements Spring and Hibernate using a Tomcat Server (v6). I'm lauching Tomcat with my Eclipse Galileo and I'm not getting any errors in the console but Tomcat is rendering my webpages randomly. The page just keep loading but without displaying anything, there's nothing on the console either. When I go in debug mode, it goes throught the right steps, everything seems alright. When I display the source code on the web browser (Firefox latest build) it shows me the right code that is needed to display the page I called. What am I not getting here? Plus when I stop Tomcat, it renders a part of the page. I'm wondering if JQuery could be the problem? The thing is that it's a collaborative project and that the others managed to run the web application in the most alright way. Please, share your experience with me.

  Hi All, I'm trying to write an if/else statement in jQuery which can change an elements class by matching 'IN' or 'OUT' (in this case). I.e, I have several Divs with class='IN-something' OR class='OUT-something'. The below would work if I new the exact CSS class, but all I'll know is whether it contains 'IN' or 'OUT'.
