  • Is there a way to have a dynamic google map that opens links in _blank?

    I came up with a good solution for a client showing a google map iFrame using the normal google maps embed. Only problem? They want the links inside the iFrame to open in a new window instead of there on the page. So, I used the static API to come up with a static image of a map and have that link to the google maps site with target="_blank". Great, but they don't get the pretty draggable map. Is there a way to do what I want using the google maps API? I'm reading the API documentation but without actually trying it I'm not sure if it can be done, and would love it if someone with some experience with the API can point me in the right direction or just tell me why it's WAY not worth the effort.

    There is no official API for Google Voice. However, many of the operations are done via simple rest style http calls, so building one shouldn’t be too difficult. Digging deeper and rolling your own is always a great way to exercise your problem solving skills and learn new things. So I did just that. As of the time of writing this, I’m only implementing basic SMS send since that’s all I needed. I’m hoping to implement more functionality in the future. In my next post, I’ll be using the SMS functionality to implement 2 factor authentication with ASP.Net MVC.

    I am an android UI developer and having problem with issue with USB and external storage device support on android. What I want to have is on plug-in USB/SD card, the storage items in the devices directly show up on screen. For example the modern Operating systems have this feature that we plug in our device and it just automatically shows the contents of the device on new window. I am implementing my UI on android API level 10 and my device is IMX reference kit which has android 2.3.4 installed. I would be grateful if anyone could give specif suggestion or guideline. I already tried with external_storage.java class. but it only says that the APK is installed successfully. But no action launches on plug-in external device.

  • Consolas Font In Vista And Win7

    I have downloaded the Consolas font from Microsoft and installed it on my Windows Vista box. Consolas is also present on my Windows 7 box. When I use PuTTY, being sure to use the same settings on both machines, the Windows 7 box can render Unicode line/box drawing characters in Consolas, but the Windows Vista box cannot. What is the relevant difference between them? If Consolas has the characters, why would they only appear on one system, and not on the other? I am logging into the same remote host each time, and I have been very carefully checking PuTTY's settings to make sure that they're the same on both machines. How can I make Consolas render Unicode line-drawing characters on Vista?

    I downloaded the Source Sans Pro font and install on my Fedora17(Xfce). I did mkfontscale, mkfontdir, fc-cache -fv, and after fc-list, could see it on the list. Then I changed guifont in gvim to Source\ Sans\ Pro\ 10, but it looks quite strange. And then I changed it to DejaVu\ Sans\ Mono\ 10, it looks nothing strange. So, why would this happend?   • Font rendering in Internet Explorer vs other browsers on Windows XP

    I have four browsers installed on my Windows XP SP3 machine: Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.5, Safari 4, and Google Chrome. For whatever reason, fonts appeared to be rendered differently in IE than in the other browsers. It seems the fonts are anti-aliased in IE but not in the others. Why might this be? Is this an issue with the browsers or my operating system? I've noticed this issue on several Windows XP machines that I've used. While it may seem like no big deal, the lack of font smoothing in the other browsers keeps me from using them as my primary browser. Most importantly, what can I do to get the other browsers to render fonts smoothly?

    In Windows. (I know I can open Desktop > Properties > Appearance > Advanced [and figure out which item determines it; probably Menu]. But, I don't want other things changed - just the bookmarks. This is because I have so many and I want more of them to display. I did see the question on changing font size of items in folder, on bookmarks toolbar, and sub-folders, etc; But, I'm talking sidebar on firefox, I don't have Google Chrome and I am not a developer.

  • Resizing custom bullets without changing the font size - Word 2010

    I'm trying to make some custom bullets in Word 2010 with the help of a picture. I thought if I made the picture the desired size everything would work out fun, but it didn't. The problem is that the bullets are always bigger than the text which is not what I had in mind. So my question is, is there any way to properly size the custom made bullets or is there another way to create these so they are actually smaller than my text. If I change the font size of my text the bullets automatically become bigger as well. I would include an image but I don't have the sufficiënt reputation to do so. Thank you in advance.

  • SSRS report font problem on deployed reports

    I have created several reports for my SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 SP2 server, using Visual Studio 2008 on my machine. The reports objects all use Arial as their font, in various sizes and weights. When I test them in VS, all looks fine, and I can print them and export them okay. When I deploy them to the server though, they look fine on-screen and if exported to PDF, but when printed directly from the web viewer, the fonts seem to go 'missing' - all the characters are squashed together as if there was a slight negative character-offset.

    Hi everyone... I really don't know how to solve this on my own so I thought giving this site a chance. After upgrading to Lucid I ran into some problems. With some experimenting I came to a conclusion that if I enable subpixel smoothing on fonts the moment I start any other application not native to GTK+ (wine, openoffice, wxWidgets, ...) my X server crashes the same moment. At first this seemed like something went wrong during installation. To cut the long story short, after 3 clean installations and whole bunch of experimenting the same thing happens all over again. Strange thing is... if I configure any other font smoothing besides subpixel, everything works like it should. Any thoughs?

  • How can I read/write data from a file?

    I'm writing a simple chrome extension. I need to create the ability to add sites URLs to a list, or read from the list. I use the list to open the sites in the new tabs. I'm looking for a way to have a data file I can write to, and read from. I was thinking on XML. I read there is a problem changing the content of files with Javascript. Is XML the right choice for this kinda thing? I should add that there is no web server, and the app will run locally, so maybe the problem websites are having are not same as this. Before I wrote this question, I tried one thing, and started to feel insecure because it didn't work.     I've already read the documentation from Google on 'message passing' a few times and have probably looked at over 10 other questions with the same problem and already tried quiet a few variations of most of their "solutions" and of what I have below... I have a spreadsheet of surveys, in which I need to see how particular users have varied over time. As such, I need to disregard all rows with unique values in a particular column.     I have a web site with many virtual hosts and each registered with several domain names (ending in .org, .de), site1.mysite.de, site2.mysite.org Then I have different templating systems based on several programming languages (perl and php) in use on the web server. The Google Maps Api requires a unique Google Maps api key for each vhost. I want to have something like a web-server wide variable $goomapkey that I can call from inside my code. I'd prefer mod_perl2 Apache request handler, but the documentation is confusing (many API changes in the past ). Which Apache module could I use? Is there a built-in Apache module that does the same thing?
