  I got a programm in haskell outputting utf-8 using the package utf8-string and using only the output functions of this package. I set the encoding of each file I write to this way : hSetEncoding myFile utf8 {- myFile may be stdout -} but when I try to output : alpha = [fromEnum 0x03B1] {- a -} instead of the nice alpha letter I got on Linux (or in a file on windows), I got the following : α The weird thing is even if I try to write the output on a file, I can't read it back with mvim as an utf-8 file.   At the end of my Python program, I'd like to be able to get a summary of the number of items logged through the standard logging module. I'd specifically like to be able to get a count for each specified name (and possibly its children). E.g. if I have: input_logger = getLogger('input') input_logger.debug("got input1") input_logger.debug("got input2") input_logger.debug("got input3") network_input_logger = getLogger('input.network') network_input_logger.debug("got network input1") network_input_logger.debug("got network input2") getLogger('output') output_logger.debug("sent output1") Then at the end I'd like to get a summary such as: input: 5 input.network: 2 output: 1 Perhaps by calling a getcount() method for a logger or a handler. What would be a good way to achieve this? I imagine it would involve a sub-class of one of the logging classes, but I'm not sure which one would be best.

  beginner question here, I haven't been able to find examples that relate. I'm working on a C program that will take integer input from stdin using fgets and sscanf, and then write it to an array. • close file with fopen() but file still in use

  Hi all, I've got a problem with deleting/overwriting a file using my program which is also being used(read) by my program. The problem seems to be that because of the fact my program is reading data from the file (output.txt) it puts the file in a 'in use' state which makes it impossible to delete or overwrite the file. I don't understand why the file stays 'in use' because I close the file after use with fclose(); this is my code: bool bBool = true while(bBool){ //Run myprogram.exe tot generate (a new) output.txt //Create file pointer and open file FILE* pInputFile = NULL; pInputFile = fopen("output.txt", "r"); // //then I do some reading using fscanf() // //And when I'm done reading I close the file using fclose() fclose(pInputFile); //The next step is deleting the output.txt if( remove( "output.txt" ) == -1 ){ //ERROR }else{ //Succesfull } } I use fclose() to close the file but the file remains in use by my program until my program is totally shut down.   PHP will automatically convert <input type="text" name="foo[0]" value="x" /> <input type="text" name="foo[1]" value="y" /> into $_POST['foo'] = array( 0 => 'x', 1 => 'y' ); Which is what you want most of the time. However, in this case I would like this not to happen. Is there anyway to tell PHP to not do this? I realize I could parse php://input myself, but I'd rather not do that if I can avoid it. I also don't have the option of renaming the input names.

• Fastest way to move records from a oracle DB into MS sql server after processing

  Hi.. Ok this is the scenario...I have a table in Oracle that acts like a queue... A VB.net program reads the queue and calls a stored proc in MS SQL Server that processes and then inserts the message into another SQL server table and then deletes the record from the oracle table. We use a datareader to read the records from Oracle and then call the stored proc for each of the records. The program seems to be a little slow. The stored procedure itself isnt slow. The SP by itself when called in a loop can process about 2000 records in 20 seconds. BUt when called from the .Net program, the execution time is about 5 records per second. I have seen that most of the time consumed is in calling the stored procedure and waiting for it to return. Is there a better way of doing this?   I have a bunch of rake building tasks. They each have unique input / output properties, but the majority of the properties I set on the tasks are the same each time. Currently I'm doing that via simple repetition like this: task :buildThisModule => "bin/modules/thisModule.swf" mxmlc "bin/modules/thisModule.swf" do |t| t.input = "src/project/modules/ThisModule.as" t.prop1 = value1 t.prop2 = value2 ... (And many more property=value sets that are the same in each task) end task :buildThatModule => "bin/modules/thatModule.swf" mxmlc "bin/modules/thatModule.swf" do |t| t.input = "src/project/modules/ThatModule.as" t.prop1 = value1 t.prop2 = value2 ... (And many more property=value sets that are the same in each task) end In my usual programming headspace I'd expect to be able to break out the population of the recurring task properties to a re-usable function. Is there a rake analogy for this? Some way I can have a single function where the shared properties are set on any task? The page has multiple file input fields surrounded by a form tag. Users can attach multiple files to each input field All files are sent to a server when the button is clicked, not when files are attached to the input fields.   I have a Django radio button group that renders to HTML as follows: <ul> <li><label for="id_package_id_0"><input type="radio" id="id_package_id_0" value="1" name="package_id" /> Test 256</label></li> <li><label for="id_package_id_1"><input type="radio" id="id_package_id_1" value="2" name="package_id" /> Test 384</label></li> <li><label for="id_package_id_2"><input type="radio" id="id_package_id_2" value="3" name="package_id" /> Test 512</label></li> <li><label for="id_package_id_3"><input type="radio" id="id_package_id_3" value="4" name="package_id" /> Test 768</label></li> <li><label for="id_package_id_4"><input type="radio" id="id_package_id_4" value="5" name="package_id" /> Test 1024</label></li> </ul> I need it to render without being a list. I am a aware of form.as_p, form.as_table, and form.as_ul. They will not help me as they continue to add extra HTML tags. As well, I am not using the form object in it's absolute entirety, just for validation. I am doing a custom template for the form already, but wish to continue to the radio widget.

  Dear Engineers, I'm a newbie in RegEx I have thousands html tags, have wrote like this: <input type="text" name="CustomerName" /> <input type="text" name="SalesOrder"/> I need to match every name attribute values and convert them all to be like this: CustomerName -> cust[customer_name] SalesOrder -> cust[sales_order] So the results will be : <input type="text" name="cust[customer_name]" /> <input type="text" name="cust[sales_order]" /> My best try have stuck in this pattern: name=\"[a-zA-Z0-9]*\" - just found name="CustomerName" Please guide me wrote some Regular Expression magics to done this, I'm using Netbeans PDT.   Hello, Im looking a way to create a text input that has content set as its value, but when selected cannot be change, only have a value added to it. The perfect example is at tumblr.com the third input down shows a text input whos default value is ".tumblr.com" on focus you can add your subdomain to it. Thanks!

• What's the best way to write to more files than the kernel allows open at a time?

  I have a very large binary file and I need to create separate files based on the id within the input file. There are 146 output files and I am using cstdlib and fopen and fwrite. FOPEN_MAX is 20, so I can't keep all 146 output files open at the same time. I also want to minimize the number of times I open and close an output file. How can I write to the output files effectively? I also must use the cstdlib library due to legacy code.
