  • C#: Validate an XML string against Schemas. .NET 2.0

    C# VB.NET 2.0 I have XML string object being sent to me. I have the location of the schemas (5 of them) that I need to validate this XML against. Most of the examples I see are .net 3.5, but not many on 2.0. The XML String does NOT Declare what schemas to use, it only has the namespaces on a good handful of elements. Thanks.

    Trying to migrate data from C: to D: via the SBS console is failing. The wizard starts running but drops out in the first few seconds. On my windows computer, it returns: string 'German_Germany.1252' (length=19) string 'ISO-8859-1' (length=10) boolean true string 'UTF-8' (length=5) string 'EUC-JP' (length=6) boolean true string 'UTF-8' (length=5) string 'weißbier' (length=9) On the webserver (linux), I get: string(10) "de_DE.utf8" string(10) "ISO-8859-1" bool(true) string(5) "UTF-8" string(10) "ISO-8859-1" bool(true) string(5) "UTF-8" string(9) "weissbier" Thus, the regex works as I expected on windows but not on linux.   • Why does one of these statements compile in Scala but not the other?

    (Note: I'm using Scala 2.7.7 here, not 2.8). I'm doing something pretty simple -- creating a map based on the values in a simple, 2-column CSV file -- and I've completed it easily enough, but I'm perplexed at why my first attempt didn't compile. They seem like they should be equivalent to me, apart from the explicit function definition (vs. anonymous in the nonworking example) and () vs. {}. If I replace the curly braces with parentheses in the nonworking example, the error is "';' expected, but 'val' found." But if I remove the local variable definition and split the string twice AND use parens instead of curly braces, it compiles. Can someone explain this difference to me, preferably with a link to Scala docs explaining the difference between parens and curly braces when used to surround method arguments?

  • Basic Question on storing variables c# for use in other classes

    Ok guys I basically have a class which takes in 3 strings through the parameter of one of its method signatures. I've then tried to map these 3 strings to global variables as a way to store them. However, when I try to call these global variables from another class after instantiating this class they display as null values. this is the class which gets the 3 strings through the method setDate, and the mapping.. public class DateLogic { public string year1; public string month1; public string day1; public DateLogic() { } public void setDate(string year, string month, string day) { year1 = year; month1 = month; day1 = day; // getDate(); } public string getDate() { return year1 + " " + month1 + " " + day1; } } After this I try call this class from here public static string TimeLine2(this HtmlHelper helper, string myString2) { DateLogic g = new DateLogic(); string sday = g.day1; string smonth = g.month1; string syr = g.year1; } I've been debugging and the values make it all the way to the global variables but when called from this class here it doesnt show them, just shows null. Is this cause I'm creating a brand new instance, how do i resolve this?
