• SEOs: mobile version using AJAX: how to be properly read by crawlers?

  Before anything else, I'd like to emphasize that I've already read this and this. Here's what I can do: First choice: create classical web version with all products in that page - http://www.myweb.com. create mobile web version with all products in the page and use jQuery Mobile to format all nicely but this may be long to (load + format), and may provide bad user experience - http://m.myweb.com. Second choice: create classical web version with all products in that page create mobile web version with almost nothing but a Web page showing wait, then download all products in the page using AJAX and use jQuery Mobile to format all nicely. Showing a wait, loading message gives far more time to do whatever I want and may provide better user experience - http://m.myweb.com. Question: if I choose the second solution, Google won't read anything on the mobile version (because all products will be downloaded in the page using AJAX), so it wont be properly read by crawlers. What / how shall I do?

• Getting PHP to work with apache to run .php files through browser [closed]

  I have VPS running Debian 5.0 (I think) and I would like to get it to run PHP files. I was told it needed to be configured with Apache. I tried entering the command apt-get install apache2 php5 libapache2-mod-php5. But there was no change. How can I fix this?

• Testing on Device Other Than the Known Brand Question (Local and Imported Phone Question)

  I have a question. When testing a device by using Eclipse, it's easy to install and add device software with these specific brands commonly used in game testing like Samsung, Google, T-Mobile, and HTC; according to the Android Developers website. What if I'm using other brands that runs on Android to test the program via Eclipse (i.e. MyPhone, Starmobile), what should I look for to download in order to enable testing phones that those brands are using other than the brands that are known and commonly used: model number or simply brand? • Desktop Apps in the Windows 8 Store?!?! That&rsquo;s Impossible!!!

  Or is it? Since Microsoft announced the Windows Store, the official word has been that desktop apps could not be distributed in the store.  But this morning I noticed this: That’s odd, but after clicking on one of these, I see that all it does is link to the website where you download Visual Studio So really, it’s not a desktop app in the store.  It’s more of an ad for a desktop app. Interestingly enough, despite the menu being ALL CAPS, Visual Studio 2012 is getting a nearly solid 5/5 stars.

• Service and/or tool to monitor performance?

  I am seeing wildly different performance from a clients web site, and would like to set up some sort of monitoring. What I'm looking for is a service that will issue requests to a couple of URLs, and report on the time it took to process the page - TTFB and time to download the entire page - that means I need something that will process javascript & css. Are there services like this? I've seen a few that monitor uptime, but they don't seem to report on the overall page performance.

• Open XML SDK 2 Released

• Python or C server hosting for indie development

  I've written a lot of the game, but it's singleplayer. Now we want to join up and play together. I want to host it like an MMO, but haven't got any personal ability to host (no static IPs or direct access to a reasonable router that will allow me to port forward) so I wondered if there were any free / very cheap hosting solutions for people developing games that need to develop their MMO side. In my case it's a world server for a 2D game where the world map can be changed by the players. So, GAE sounds expensive, as there would be quite a few updates per second (I heard they bill for data updates but not for download, but can't find refernce to billing anywhere on the FAQs) I'd prefer to be able to write the server in python as that's what the game is written in (with pygame), but C is fine, and maybe even better as it might prompt me to write some more performant world generator code ;)

• External Video Hosting - will it eat my bandwidth?

  I hav asked this question before, on serverfault, but have been unable to get a clear answer or spammy ones. A client runs a website with limited bandwidth per month (10gb) but wants his users to be able to download hq videos. Now if he would rent hosting space on amazon, for example, the downloads would still go through his website right? So would this then still eat his bandwidth then, or not? It there a way to circumvent this? How do you do this, if you have limited bandwidth? If you are kind enough to answer, please don't spam me with what is good and not good hosting, I already know.

• How do I install sensors-applet?

  I want to install sensors-applet onto my Ubuntu 12.04 computer. The instructions on this (and other) webpages says to enter this command in a command terminal: sudo apt-get install sensors-applet This is a gnome applet and gnome isn't exactly obscure. Why can sensors-applet package not be found? Before you say "no", note that I was able to execute "gnome-panel" to add a bar/panel along the bottom of my desktop, add 8 cpu-frequency applets to the bar (one per CPU core), and add gnome-panel to my startup applications. So I've already done the basics, and believe all I need now is to be able to download and install the sensors-applet to have that temperature applet available on the panel too. See here.

  I upgraded XAML2CPP to fix some bugs and support some new features that will be used in my next tutorial step (that I hope to publish very soon!). Bug fixed: the listbox selection changed event was generated with an incorrect prototype events generated by the XAML tree root element (UserControl) were not handled. New features: XAML2CPP generates panels (dynamically generated XAML subtrees that may be added to a page) and user controls (those will be the object of my next post, stay tuned!). XAML2CPPXRValue class has been added to XAML2CPPbase.h. This class will allow single-line declaration of XRValue objects (I’m lazy!) and destroys automatically objects and string XRValues when the object itself is destroyed. Ping.eu is a free service which would let you test various aspects related to networks which would typically be pain inducing doing it on your own. For seasoned network professional having a MAC address of their own instead of a name :) this might not be that useful. However for a layperson like me this an invaluable resource. • 12.04 Epson Scanner will not install dependency not met

  I'm trying to install Epson V100 scanner in 12.04. I downloaded files from Epson: iscan_2.29.1-5~usb0.1.ltdl7_amd64.deb iscan_2.29.1-5~usb0.1.ltdl3_amd64.deb iscan-plugin-gt-s600_2.1.2-1_amd64.deb from Ubuntu Software Center via double click on the file or from the terminal "dependencies not met" error occurs. What can I do. Apparently 12.04 is not able to process these files. Does anyone know where I can download older versions of the above files. I can not access avasys.jp from my location in China.

• "Unrecoverable error" during installation

  I have an old Dell computer and I want to switch from windows xp and install the new ubuntu. I have tried multiple times to download it via cd-r but keep getting the same error message: unrecoverable error. The error happens after the menu which lists try ubuntu, install ubuntu, etc.It only gets as far as the Screen with a toolbar on the top that includes power, sound, and two arrows. That is when the message displays. switching to desktop version to find what the problem is( or something like that.) What is going wrong?

  I'm interested in developing for Ubuntu (mostly phones) and I can't seem to find the guidelines on app publishing, will apps only work through the ubuntu software center, or can users download and install an app from a website like is possible with an android apk? Also, are there any rules regarding in-app purchase methods, (I hope the minimum price here isn't $2.99 in-app as well or I'm not going to even bother developing for Ubuntu and will just stick with Android) Google for example, requires that in-app purchases go through their servers so that it isn't possible to use other funding methods at least for play store published apps. My main questions here are: Would it be possible to release an app for ubuntu touch that accepted bitcoin, paypal, or other methods for in-app purchases? If not, would it be possible to release apps through a personal website or 3rd party app market that could use alternative payment methods?

• How to do firmware updates/upgrades to a Blackberry

  I have several clients/friends that have Blackberry and wish to update their phone but without installing Windows. Any windows. Just doing it from Ubuntu. How can this be done. The update the mention is for the firmware and new programs for the phone. I do not know much about Blackberries since am more of an android guy. At the end they want support for upgrade/update the Blackberry from within Linux and sync it to the PC (Backups, upload/download stuff to and from it). • Is there an RSS feed of Ubuntu Release torrent files

  A lot of torrent search engines have the ability to provide an RSS feed of matches, allowing you to set up torrent programs to download items which are published on the feed. This is useful for watching releases of things. The problem with doing this through a random search engine for Ubuntu is that you usually get too many torrents as it picks up different custom versions, and other software with the name in the title/description. • YouSendIt Alternative?

  Looking for a reasonably priced alternative to YouSendIt's exorbitant pricing for an embedded, unbranded (i.e. no "Uploads by SomeCompany" or at the very least, discrete, subtle co-branding) file upload solution for my client's print shop Website. To do what we want to do with YouSendIt, we're looking at a corporate account of $995 USD plus $29.99 USD monthly fee, that is only sold pro-rated, so you have to buy the entire year's worth. To me, this is just unacceptable considering the commodity pricing of storage and bandwidth nowadays. For data, we're looking at roughly 10MB per upload, with perhaps 250-1000 uploads per month, with transient data storage of no more than 30 days (and more than likely 1-2 business days) for a total of 10 GB transfer (upload) and 10 GB transfer (download, to the print shop) at the very max each month. Any ideas? Everything I've found through searching seems to be geared more towards personal file sharing and not for embedding into Websites. Thanks
