  • Simple jquery ajax call leaks memory in ie.

    I created a web page that makes an ajax call every second. In Internet Explorer 7, it leaks memory badly (20MB in about 15 minutes). The program is very simple. It just runs a javascript function that makes an ajax call. The server returns an empty string, and the javascript does nothing with it. I use setTimout to run the function every second, and I'm using Drip to watch the thing. I'm not doing anything with the DOM, and if I comment out the ajax call, the memory leak stops. So it looks like the leak is entirely in the ajax call. Does jquery ajax inherently create some sort of circular reference, and if so, how can I free it? By the way, it doesn't leak in Firefox. Someone suggested running the test in another VM and see if the results are the same. Rather than setting up another VM, I found a laptop that was running XP Home with IE8. It exhibits the same problem. I tried some older versions of jquery and got better results, but the problem didn't go away entirely until I abandoned ajax in jquery and went with more traditional (and ugly) ajax.

  • jquerymobile - include .js and .html

    Hi, I have described the my problem in the following lines. Kindly clarify me. In my application,I am using more than html page for displaying the content and each page have own .js file. When I call the html page then .js file also included. In the .js,I am using $('div').live('pageshow',function(){}). I am calling the html file from the .js(using $.mobile.changePage("htmlpage")). My problem : consider, I have two html files. second.html file is called with in the one.js. when I show the second.html, that time one.js is reload again. I am getting the alert "one.js" then "second.js" Please help me. Thanks in advance. Please point out my mistake.   • ScriptManager emits ScriptReferences after ClientScriptIncludes. Why?

    I have an application that uses a lot of javascript in a lot of different .js files. Each page can have any number and combination of different controls and each control can use a different set of js files. Instead of including all possible js files as <script src="xxx.js"> in the head of my master page, I thought I would reduce the amount of included files by getting each control to call ScriptManager.Scripts.Add(new ScriptReference("xxx.js")) - thus only the scripts that are actually needed by the page will be included. Well that bit works fine. But...the controls also use ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock fairly extensively too. (There are scenarios where the controls are inside update panels). I was disappointed to see that the ScriptManager emits the client script includes before the ScriptReferences. For example - see the test file and output at the end (this results in a JS error because $ is not defined). Am I being dumb or is this to be expected? I would have thought that a sensible thing for the ScriptManger to do would be to emit the ScriptReferences first and then the other stuff. Short of rolling my own ScriptManager like object to manage static JS file references, does anyone have any suggestions as to get the behaviour that I want from ScriptManager?? Thanks in advance.     I was playing around with the Swipe jQuery plugin on my iPod Touch and Android devices. Now, when I swipe on the div element, I was expecting it to actually trigger the event. This works in iPod touch as expected but does not work on my Android device unless I randomly start swiping everywhere until I happen to swipe on that small wrapper div element itself. I am not sure how to explain this but hink of it as sending events to the wrapper div itself. Both use the WebKit engine. Can someone tell me if I am doing something wrong?

    I want to make a "standard" install for external use, but I also want to use the same script and tell it (with a command line param perhaps?) to include another set of files (PDB files for debugging) for our lab installations. How can I do this? Is it possible? I don't see how to set this in the [files] section. NOTE - this is not for having an option during the install. It is for static build time. I suppose it is just best to create a separate installer for the pdbs.

  • How do I get back results running a VB Script from C#?

    I want to be able to call VB scripts from C#, which is easy enough, but I need to be able to get back the results from these scripts at times. Should I use the method referenced with something to read back, or should I use a different method? I've found a method to getting data back from powershell scripts using Runspaces and Pipelines, but I don't know enough about this technology to know if it will work with VB scripts as well. Ideally, I'd like to do something similar to the powershell method where I can just pass in the contents of the script without needing to reference an external file and get back the results. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thanks.

The reason is that at each iterations, it sends the program file mycomputation"${i}$.pbs to a core node for solving. Solving in this instance involves the use of pseudo random numbers. I suspect the RNG I use (R's) uses CPU time as seed because as things are now I get repeating pseudo random numbers (at the rate of approx 1 out of 100). I have set up this bash script which doesn't work: xrandr --newmode "1440" 106.50 1440 1528 1672 1904 900 903 909 934 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode -display VGA-1 1440 xrandr --output VGA-1 --mode 1440 It outputs: xrandr: cannot find mode 1440. It has worked previously when running the commands individually but after a restart it fails. I've also just installed disper as per this question but have no idea how to use it - the help suggests the command: disper -d VGA-1 -r "1440x900" should work, but it does not. It just outputs the help text, suggesting something is wrong but not saying what. Is there any way to get these horrific Nvidia drivers working properly with a resolution that is not detected by the tools?

  • WCF Double Hop questions about Security and Binding.

    Background information: .Net Website which calls a service (aka external service) facade on an app server in the DMZ. This external service then calls the internal service which is on our internal app server. From there that internal service calls a stored procedure (Linq to SQL Classes), and passes the serialized data back though to the external service, and from there back to the website. We've done this so any communication goes through an external layer (our external app server) and allows interoperability; we access our data just like our clients consuming our services. We've gotten to the point in our development where we have completed the system and it all works, the double hop acts as it should. However now we are working on securing the entire process. We are looking at using TransportWithMessageCredentials. We want to have WS2007HttpBinding for the external for interoperability, but then netTCPBinding for the bridge through the firewall for security and speed. Questions: If we choose WS2007HttpBinding as the external services binding, and netTCPBinding for the internal service is this possible? I know WS-* supports this as does netTCP, however do they play nice when passing credential information like user/pass? If we go to Kerberos, will this impact anything? We may want to do impersonation in the future. If you can when you answer post any reference links about why you're answering the way you are, that would be very helpful to us. Thanks!

  • Why do I get a blank page from my Perl CGI script?

    The user enters a product code, price and name using a form. The script then either adds it to the database or deletes it from the database. If the user is trying to delete a product that is not in the database they get a error message. Upon successful adding or deleting they also get a message. However, when I test it I just get a blank page. Perl doesnt come up with any warnings, syntax errors or anything; says everything is fine, but I still just get a blank page.   • How can I specify dependencies in the manifest file and then to include it into my .jar file?

    I generated .class files by the following command: javac -cp \directoryName\external.jar myPackageDirectory\First.java myPackageDirectory\Second.java I needed to use -cp during compilation and name of .jar file of an "external" library (external.jar) to be able to use this library from my code. Using my .class files I have generated my .jar file in the following way: jar cfm app.jar manifest.txt myPackageDirectory\*.class manifest.txt contains just one line: Main-Class: myPackageName.First My problem is that I am not sure that I will be able to run my .jar file on other computers. I think so because during the compilation I specified the location of the .jar file of the external library. So, my .class files (included into the .jar file will try to find the .jar file of the external library in a specific directory and there is no guaranty that that the .jar file of the external library will be in the same directory as on the my computer. I heard that the above problem can be solved by a usage of a MANIFEST file that I include in my own jar, and which will list dependency locations but I do not understand how it works. I do need to specify location of the "external.jar" at the compilation stage (otherwise the compiler complains).

  • Salesforce/PHP - Bulk Outbound message (SOAP), Time out issue

    Salesforce can send up to 100 requests inside 1 SOAP message. While sending this type of Bulk Ooutbound message request my PHP script finishes executing but SF fails to accept the ACK used to clear the message queue on the Salesforce side of things. Looking at the Outbound message log (monitoring) I see all the messages in a pending state with the Delivery Failure Reason "java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out". If my script has finished execution, why do I get this error? I have tried these methods to increase the execution time on my server as I have no access on the Salesforce side: set_time_limit(0); // in the script max_execution_time = 360 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds max_input_time = 360 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data memory_limit = 32M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume I used the high settings just for testing. Any thoughts as to why this is failing the ACK delivery back to Salesforce? I can process about 25 requests (That are in 1 SOAP response) but once I go over that I get the timeout error in the Salesforce queue. for 50 requests is usually takes my PHP script 86.77 seconds. Could it be Apache? PHP? I have also tested just accepting the 100 request SOAP response and just accepting and sending the ACK the queue clears out, so I know it's on my side of things.   • dojo.require() prevents Firefox from rendering the page

    Im experiencing strange behavior with Firefox and Dojo. I have a html page with these lines in the <head> section: ... <script type="text/javascript" src="dojo.js" djconfig="parseOnLoad: true, locale: 'de'"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> dojo.require("dojo.number"); </script> ... Sometimes the page loads normally. But sometimes it won't. Firefox will fetch the whole html page but not render it. I see only a gray window. After some experiments I figured out that the rendering problem has something to do with the load time of the html. Firefox starts evaluating the html page while loading it. If the page takes too long to load the above javascript will be executed BEFORE the html finishes loading. If this happens I'll get the gray window. Advising Firefox to show me the source code of the page will display the correct complete html code. BUT: if I save the page to disk (File-Save Page As...) the html code will be truncated and the above part will look like this: ... <script type="text/javascript" src="dojo.js" djconfig="parseOnLoad: true, locale: 'de'"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> dojo.require("dojo.number"); </script></head><body></body></html> This explains why I get to see a gray area. But why does this code appear there? I assume the require() method of Dojo does something "evil". But I can't figure out what. There is no write.document("</head><body></body></html>"); in the Dojo code. I checked for it. The problem would be fixed, if I'd place the dojo.require("dojo.number"); statement in the window.load event: <script type="text/javascript"> window.load=function() { dojo.require("dojo.number"); } </script> But I'm curious why this happens. Is there a Javasctript function which forces Firefox to stop evaluating the page? Does Dojo do somethig "bad"? Can anyone explain this behavior to me? EDIT: Dojo 1.3.1, no JS errors or warnings.
