  Hi folks, I'm trying to implement a "time ago" feature, for the displaying of items on a site. As I'm caching the pages I wish to use javascript in order to render the "time ago". Javascript knows local time and problably the Timezone of the local machine so I could play with that, but that would require to hard code the server's timezone. Therefore I'm trying to figure out a simple way to pass a ISO 8601 timestamp, in GMT time. Is there any simple and straight forward way for doing this? Help would be much appreciated! =)

  I am using a <% foreach ...% loop to list a collection of items on my website. I want to add a different background color for the style of alternating rows in my list. I have found a way to do this but I am not satisfied with it as it seems like a hack. • Removing an Entity from an EntitySet during Iteration...

  I've got this code... seems nice and elegant, but apparently the framework don't like it when i mess with a collection while iterating through it: foreach (KitGroup kg in ProductToTransfer.KitGroups) { // Remove kit groups that have been excluded by the user if (inKitGroupExclusions != null && inKitGroupExclusions.Contains(kg.KitGroupID)) ProductToTransfer.KitGroups.Remove(kg); else { // Loop through the kit items and do other stuff //... } } The error it throws when it iterates to the 2nd object in the collection is: "EntitySet was modified during enumeration" I know i could create a new collection of KitGroup objects (or even just IDs) that i want to remove, and then another loop afterwards to loop through these, and remove them from the collection, but this just seems like unnecessary extra code... can anybody suggest a more elegant way of achieving the same thing?   I have a MVVM WPF application that basically wants to be a single line diagram designer for an electrical distribution network. I have a canvas that must contains transformers, circuit breaker, lines and cables. My big problem is the design... How can i start? I think about a DesignerView, DesignerViewModel that contains an ObservableCollection of IDesignerItemViewModel that is my base class for all the element. But in this case I have to use ItemsControl to bind the content of the canvas to my collection but the pros is that I don't have to create usercontrol for each element but i'll solve most of the problems with DataTemplate (i suppose). Each element viewmodel mantain a link to a model persisted in a repository where i mantain my logical tree. Any hint about how to proceed, I have looked at many DiagramCanvas example but all of those use simple items most like simple rectangle...

• Team Foundation Error: The request ID is incorrect or not recognized

  Hello everybody. I'm trying to connect to the Team Foundation Server's ClientService.asmx web services. Over here, the TFS has webservices for retrieving work items, queries, metadata and more...a quite complete and useful set of information to get. My problem is that trying to access these services leads to an error: TF51313: The request ID is incorrect or not recognized I assume it has something to do with the RequestHeader Id structure. I give it a GUID inside the code I'm working on, but I don't know how correct it is...or what value it should have to begin with. Note: I can't use the TFS API/SDK because I am building a mobile application. Also an application on the TFS server side to communicate with the API and expose web services is not an option. Thanks.

• Is there a suggested solution structure for ASP.NET MVC Production Apps

  In general, I don't like to keep code (BaseClasses or DataAccess Code) in the App_Code directory of an ASP.NET Site. I'll usually pull this stuff out into a MySite.BusinessLogic & MySite.DataAccess DLL's respectively. I'm wondering should I be doing the same for ASP.NET MVC. Would it be better to Organise the solution something along the lines of MySite.Common - DLL - (Basic Functionality built on .NET System Dlls) MySite.DAL - DLL - (DataAccessLayer & DBML Files) MySite.Models - DLL - (MVC Models e.g. Repository Classes) MySite.Controllers - DLL (MVC Controllers which use Models) MySite - ASP.NET MVC Site. Or am I missing something... presumably, I'll lose some of the nice (Add View, Go To Controller, context menu items that have been added)

  hi, 1) if I create items in a for loop, is correct to add a new eventListener for each item ? Or should I add only 1 eventListener to the parent ? and call the event through ID ? 2) if I want to scale my item, (a LinkButton with icon image), I noticed that the icon is sometimes resized with delay, so I have a bit of flickering when I trigger the event. Should I not use icons, and set the image in another way ? How can I fix this ? thanks

• How can I disable a view behind my SlidingDrawer in Android?

  I have a SlidingDrawer that pops up from the bottom of the screen and fills the screen about 80%. Even though the SlidingDrawer view is in focus, it is still possible to click on items, buttons and other elements in the view that is behind the SlidingDrawer. When SlidingDrawer is active/pulled up/in focus, I want to disable the entire view behind it so it will not be able to recieve clicks and touches. Is there a good way to disable an entire view? I have tried setEnable(false) and setClickable(false) but neither of them work. Help?

  Hi There, can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. I am trying to load a UIScrollView in a UIView. I am using IB to load the items and what not. the come I am using in the ViewController isnt working. :( I have it under the ViewDidLoad - (void)viewDidLoad { [scrollView setScrollEnabled:YES]; [scrollView setContentSize:CGSizeMake(768, 1300)]; } Whats wrong with it. • Dynamically populate an InfoPath DropownList with managed code

  I have an InfoPath form with custom C# code, and a Sharepoint list. I have a dropdownlist in the InfoPath form that I want to populate with a certain field from the Sharepoint list (I want the InfoPath dropdownlist to contain this field's value from every item in the Sharepoint list. I can successfully get the list of values I need from Sharepoint in my managed code, but I do not see how I can get these values into the dropdownlist (either bind to the list, or add each item in the list one by one). I thought I could modify the XML of the dropdownlist to insert my items, but the XML only contains the first item in the dropdownlist: <my:RelatedRiskID xmlns:my="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2009-07-20T18:12:59">Option 1</my:RelatedRiskID> I feel like this should be possible, but I can't find any resources on how to do it.   I understand that the WorkflowDesigner can receive a dragged item in several ways, for example: By dragging an item from the toolbox and dropping it on the designer: an empty activity of that type will be inserted on the designer at the drop location. One can also drag an activity from the designer and drop it on another location in the designer, the dragged activity will be inserted at the drop location as well. Is it possible that similar to these two drag and drop mechanism, I can drag a xaml activity to the designer? What I have in mind is this, Let's say you have a ListView containing several xaml files. I want to be able to drag one of the ListView items (ie one of the xaml files), and when I drag it over the designer it will act as if I drag something from the toolbox (except the activity will be supplied from the xaml). I know I can create a runtime Activity from the file by using ActivityXamlServices.Load(filename), and I want this activity to be inserted at the drop location. But how to tell the application to understand this when I drag and drop?

Update Because no one seems to understand how i thought the algorithm, i'll explain: If the dividend contains only one term, we simply insert the quotient in Result, then we multiply it with the divisor ans subtract it from the first polynomial which stores the remainder. If the polynomial we do this until the second polynomial( P in this case) becomes bigger. I think this algorithm is called long division, isn't it? So based on these, can anyone help me with overloading the / operator correctly for my class? Thanks!

• CALayer drawInContext vs addSublayer

  How can I use both of these in the same UIView correctly? I have one custom subclassed CALayer in which I draw a pattern within drawInContext I have a another in which I set an overlay PNG image as the contents. I have a third which is just a background. How do I overlay all 3 of these items? [self.layer addSublayer:bottomLayer]; // this line is the problem [squaresLayer drawInContext:viewContext]; [self.layer addSublayer:imgLayer]; The other 2 by themselves draw correctly if I do them in that order. No matter where I try and put bottomLayer, it always prevents squaresLayer from drawing. The reason I need 3 layers is I intend to animate the colors in the background and custom layers. The top layer is just a graphical overlay.

• Blackberry Eclispe plugin and emulator

  So I installed the following installation packages to develop Blackberry apps using the included emulators. I first installed them on a macbook pro, virtualizing windows 7 x86 with vmware. Everything worked fine, I created a quick HelloWorld app and it compiled and fully ran in the emulator. I did no other configuration. So I went to install this on my desktop PC with Windows 7 x64. I installed the exact same items. When I choose to run with the Blackberry Emulator, nothing happens. Any ideas?   I tried drag and drop from the explorer, but no luck with following error: "Folders cannot be dropped or pasted as solution items. Choose an individual document instead." I know we can create each folders/subfolders manually and add each file, but any quick way to do this on visual studio 2005? Updated: Thank you for the reply, but I do not want the folders to be added under any project, It should appear as a separate node inside my solution, like any other project. In this case the show all files does not work, since the solution itself does not have any folder, it is only if we select any project it works. I know we can create each folders/subfolders manually and add each file, but any quick way, because there are few hundreds of files.

• silverlight 3 navigation page not availble in VS as item to add

  I've recently upgraded my computer from Vista Home Premium 64-bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I've re-installed VS 2008 web express, and re-installed all the silver light sdk's, tools, etc. But now when I want to add a Silverlight Navigation Page, it is not avialble to me in the list of items that can be added. The navigation dll is installed, as my project existed before the OS upgrade. The program still runs just fine as is, but I want to add another navigation page item to the project, and I'm stumped for how to do it. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve
