logging one thread in Java using log4j

I have an web application written in Java, and I have a thread-pool. The application is huge, and I cannot make major changes, for example, I cannot change log4j. I am executing a batch process in the thread pool, and I want to log everything that goes is executed to execute that process. There will always be just one thread active in the thread pool. Any ideas of how can I do that?

Apache Modrewrite & 301 redirect- Dynamic URLs with characters.

I've been trying for weeks, literally, to rename these URLs and also ensure the old one is 301 redirected to the new one: www.example.com/?mod=11&p=215 - www.example.com/clean-url-section www.example.com/?mod=96&tab=6 - www.example.com/clean-url-section-2 Does anyone have any idea why I am having no luck, I got 500 server errors or nothing at all! Is it because of the question marks and characters? I'd be grateful for any help. I have tried this (below) and it seems to be redirecting to the http:// www.example.com/new-page (this page doesn't exist, as I only want it to rename the page BUT use a 301 so that search engines continue you to value it) RewriteCond %{query_string} mod=96&tab=6 RewriteRule (.*) http:// www. example.com/new-page? Dear all, I've a list of float numbers and I would like to delete incrementally a set of elements in a given range of indexes, sth. like: for j in range(beginIndex, endIndex+1): print ("remove [%d] => val: %g" % (j, myList[j])) del myList[j] However, since I'm iterating over the same list, the indexes (range) are not valid any more for the new list. This is the sample output of firebug: http://mysite.com/mysite.com/forms/get_data.php With this url it now gives me: "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - http://mysite.com/mysite.com/forms/get_data.php" Shouldn't it output like http://mysite.com/forms/get_data.php ? I want to create a mecanism in a large .net application to handle all the exceptions in the application, and to save the error messages (in db or log file) so these errors can be fixed, and so we are aware of the problems in the application. With Twitter turning off the API 1.0 faucet on 6/11/2013, we have several sites that now fail to display timelines. I've been looking for an "If you did that, now do this" example. automatically rewrite URLs in ASP.NET

I use VS2010,C# to develop an ASP.NET web site, my customers want me to have their pages like this: mysite.com/customer (in fact they call mysite/customer/default.aspx) so I've manually created several folders for each customer, and inserted a default.aspx file in the folder so that users can view customer page by typing mysite.com/customer is there a better way for performing this scenario? I don't want to have mysite.com/customer1.aspx, I want to have mysite.com/customer1, is there anyway that I can remove folders (and their containing default.aspx files) and generate something automatic using my customers database? should I use URL rewriting? is there anyway that I can create page mysite.com/customer1.aspx, and users can view it by typing mysite.com/customer1? I think it is possible to rewrite URLs in web.config, but I don't want to do it manually in web.config as my pages would increase in a daily basis thanks

Hi. Suppose stackoverflow.com wanted to have an RSS feed per each tag. They would probably have requests like stackoverflow.com/rss?tag=aspnet to return appropriate RSS feeds. This is the easy part. Now when the user requested stackoverflow.com/rss?tag=aspnet he would see some XML. Instead it would be better to show a page where user can choose which RSS reader he wants to subscribe with (just like feedburner.com). My question is: is there any ready-made code (html+javascript) that I can copy-paste to create such a subscription page? Basically I want to copy feedburner.com's subscription page onto my own site. PS - I would be happy using feedburner.com, but it would require me to create a feed for each tag manually, which is impractical.

Basically I have a div, and I wanted to have the video player within that div, however when I load the page nothing happens, and the video is never played. I have this Associative Array : $Fields = array("row0"=>"Yahoo ID", "row1"=>"MSN ID", "row2"=> "Gtalk ID"); on the other side, I have this SQL query : SELECT YahooID, MSNID, GTalkID From UserTable WHERE Username = '$Username' LIMIT 1; the result maybe vary, because some users only have Yahoo ID and some have others. for example if I have this result : $row[0] = NONE //means YahooID = NONE $row[1] = example@msn.com $row[2] = example@gmail.com then how to have this as an output (echo) : MSN ID = example@msn.com Gtalk ID = example@gmail.com since Yahoo ID is not exist, then the result will be MSN and Gtalk only. 'MSN ID' and 'Gtalk ID' is variable from Associative Array, while 'example@msn.com' and 'example@gmail.com' from SQL result. thanks!

Why do C# and Java require everything to be in a class?

It seemed like this question should have been asked before, but searching found nothing. I've always wondered what's the point of making us put every bit of code inside a class or interface. I seem to remember that there were some advantages to requiring a main() function like C, but nothing for classes. Languages like Python are, in a way, even more object oriented than Java since they don't have primitives, but you can put code wherever you want. Is this some sort of "misinterpretation" of OOP? After all, you can write procedural code like you would in C and put it inside a class, but it won't be object oriented.

Forms Authentication Across Applications Stopped Working

Hi, I have a .net 1.1 ASP application (domain.com) which has a .net 2 virtual directory (domain.com/v2) beneath it, both applications run within their own app pool on the same machine running IIS 6. The web.config files for both apps are setup for Forms Authentication as described here - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/eb0zx8fc(v=VS.80).aspx. Users would be directed to the domain.com/v2/login.aspx page which would authenticate for both applications, this configuration has been working fine for the last few years until installing one of the recent Windows 2003 security updates today. Now after authenticating under /v2 users keep getting redirected back to domain.com/v2/Login.aspx as domain.com doesnt see them as authenticated anymore. Any ideas as to which security update would have caused this and if its possible to rollback? I've looked at a few suggestions on this (e.g. Cross app on subdomain form authentication not working) and other sites but no luck so far Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
