  • Default login popup for web sites

    Hi. I am trying to build a web site with ASP.NET MVC, I'm new to this. My question is: how can I display the default login dialog? I am not referring to a custom dialog, like the jQuery Dialog, there is a default pop-up for credentials, which looks different depending on browser, same as with javascript alert(), but I don't know how to display it. To know what I mean, go to http://fit.c2.com/wiki.cgi?WelcomeVisitors, there is a Login button at the bottom of the page, when you click it a pop-up appears. That is what I want to display. Any ideas?

  • OAuth2 Flow for Mobile Devices

    We're currently working on an API that will be consumed by a variety of different devices. We want to use the OAuth2 spec as it defines several flows which were not available in the original OAuth spec. My question is, what flow would work best for a mobile device such as the iPhone or iPad? What flow does an application like TweetDeck use? Looking around the web it seems clients like TweetDeck use the 'Username and Password Credentials Flow" (browserless token exchange). Can anyone provide more information on this topic?

    I have a simple authentication scheme for a set of semi-public REST API's we are building: /-----------------------\ | Client POST's ID/Pass | | to an Auth Service | \-----------------------/ [Client] ------------POST----------------------> [Service/Authenticate] | /-------------------------------\ | Service checks credentials | [Client] <---------Session Cookie------- | and generates a session token | | | in a cookie. | | \-------------------------------/ | [Client] -----------GET /w Cookie -------------> [Service/Something] | /----------------------------------\ | Client must pass session cookie | | with each API request | | or will get a 401. | \----------------------------------/ This works well, because the client never needs to do anything except receive a cookie, and then pass it along. For browser applications, this happens automatically by the browser, for non browser applications, it is pretty trivial to save the cookie and send it with each request. However, I have not figured out a good approach for doing the initial handshake from browser applications. For example, if this is all happening using a AJAX technique, what prevents the user from being able to access the ID/Pass the client is using to handshake with the service? It seem's like this is the only stumbling block to this approach and I'm stumped.

    Hi all, When I implement OAuth in iPhone, I have a dilemma to choose Safari or UIWebView to open the Twitter pages for user authentication? I write some advantage and disadvantage of both case: Using UIWebWeb. The disadvantage is users have to enter their credentials in our application. It's maybe risky phishing. The advantage is this approach will not quit our app. Using Safari for user to authenticate (this approach automatically callbacks to our application) Addvantage: less risky.     Hi, how can i replace ubuntu logo,(white logo with black background) which comes very first while booting (it also comes while shuting down) in ubuntu 9.10. I am able to replace other images, which comes after this image. I have done it by replaceing my images with the images present in /usr/share/images/xflash.But it is not possible to replace the mentioned image by this way.   • Can I connect to SQL Server using Windows Authentication from Java EE webapp?

    I am currently investigating how to make a connection to a SQL Server database from my Java EE web application using Windows Authentication instead of SQL Server authentication. I am running this app off of Tomcat 6.0, and am utilizing the Microsoft JDBC driver. My connection properties file looks as follows: dbDriver = com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver dbUser = user dbPass = password dbServer = localhost:1433;databaseName=testDb dbUrl = jdbc:sqlserver://localhost:1433 I have zero problems with connecting to a SQL Server database in this fashion when using SQL Server authentication. Is there any way I can retrieve the credentials of the user's Windows Authentication and use that authentication for SQL Server? UPDATE: I know in ASP.net there is a way to set up Windows Authentication for access to the webapp, which is exactly what I am looking for, except I want to pass that token off to SQL Server for access to the database.

  • AnkhSVN, mysisgit and Pageant

    I have recently installed msysgit on my machine (its running Windows 7) to use Git for some projects. A lot of my projects are under SVN, in which I use AnkhSVN in Visual Studio 2008 to commit etc. Since I have installed msysgit everytime I try to commit, update etc inside Visual Studio, the program C:\msysgit\bin\ssh.exe loads up, asks for my password, then Ankh throws an exception. I currently use Pageant to save my login credentials for SVN - I have TortoiseSVN installed, which is still working fine... Has anybody got any suggestions to get Anhk working again - without uninstalling msysgit? Thanks

  • Cant get the catch statement to catch the custom exception

    i have created a custom exception in the business layer and also using wcf layer where I am calling the methods in the business layer then in another website i am calling the method from wcf. i can see the message that i wrote in custom exception but the program goes staright to exception (the second catch block) instead of hitting my first catch block(where the custom exception is) when i hover over the exception i see my message but it's inside something called faultexception which i am not familiar with. and in there under details..there i see type= CanOnlyApplyOnceException. here is my code: protected void AddNewApplication() { try { using (var proxy = new ServiceReference1.ServiceClient()) { proxy.AddApplication(new Application { Credentials = 2, Comments = txtComments.Text, }); } } catch (CanOnlyApplyOnceException c) { ErrorSummary.AddError(c.Message, this); return; } catch (Exception) { lblStatus.Text = "There has been an error.   • Is the Angular templateCache shared between apps? Is it persistent?

    If I have two Angular apps that run on the same domain, will/can they share data in the templateCache? Or is the cache unique to each main application module? In general I'm trying to understand what dictates when a new templateCache is created. Furthermore I'm not clear on whether or in what way the templateCache is persistent? Looking in local storage and cookies, I don't see where anything is getting stored.
