  • Problem with ajax and posting non-latin characters

    Posting non-latin based languages with ajax + jquery doesn't save to mysql the correct text. What I have done is this: I am getting multiple translated words from Google's translation api. The ajax request is showing the correct translations for all languages. But when i try and insert this into the db it shows up in php my admin as garbled text I added AddDefaultCharset UTF-8 to .htaccess file on the root. I tried setting the header in php to utf-8 and this did not work. I have tried adding a contentType to ajax setup but this didn't work also. Any suggestions appreciated. jason

However, the HQL parser seems to be ignoring my parenthesis, thus changing the meaning of my statement. Can anyone shed any light on the matter?   • SaveFileDialog problem (C#) (VS2008)

    Hi all, I am having an issue with SaveFileDialog for some reason. All I want to do is extract data from a text box line by line and write it to a text file, then save that text file to the desktop. The first bit of code works fine (though it doesn't save to the desktop). The second bit of code is what I want to use, but when it creates the text file the text file is empty. What did I do wrong in my second bit of code?     I'm running Snow Leopard, and installed a custom built Ruby according to the guide here: http://hivelogic.com/articles/compiling-ruby-rubygems-and-rails-on-snow-leopard . My ruby binary lives in usr/local/bin/ruby and my gems are installed in /usr/local/bin/gem . My gem env looks like so: RUBY VERSION: 1.8.7 (2008-08-11 patchlevel 72) [universal-darwin10.0] - INSTALLATION DIRECTORY: /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8 - RUBY EXECUTABLE: /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/bin/ruby - EXECUTABLE DIRECTORY: /usr/bin I think I may have borked the install since all actions taked on gems give the error: ERROR: While executing gem ... (Errno::EEXIST) File exists - /usr/local/bin/ruby How do you edit the environment variables for the gem environment? And for those of you on OS X and using ruby AND gems, what did you use to get yourself up and running? I'm thinking of just nuking everything and starting anew.

    I am a student working on a homework project. I spent DAYS trying to get the following code to display an image on my new windows 7 laptop. I compiled it and ran it on my old xp pc and it worked! I really want to use my laptop.     Hi I started using ccnet to build my project. This is quite new issue for me so I have some problems. First thing: Why does ccnet copy directory with my project to another directory (ccnet creates new folder named the same as project name included in ccnet.config file and copies to them directory with my project) Second thing: Dashboard page cannot show reports for recent build (When I click on any item in recent build then I get page: "The page Cannot be found" I suppose that page cannot link files with logs. but I don't know how to link it. I create one publisher: <publishers> <xmllogger logDir="c:\Branches" /> Can anyone help me?

    I'm trying to enter values into a database table using a form and a PHP function. The PHP seems to be fine as the SQL statement it creates looks okay, but the database always throws up an error. This is the SQL statement that my code has generated (with arbitrary values): INSERT INTO Iteminfo ('itemName', 'itemSeller', 'itemCategory', 'itemDescription', 'itemPrice', 'itemPostage', 'itemBegin', 'itemEnd', 'buynow', 'itemPicture') values ('gorillaz album', 'ben', 'music', 'new one ', '5.00', '1.00', '2010-03-15 14:59:51', '2010-03-16 14:59:51', '0', 'http://www.thefader.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/gorillaz-plastic-beach.jpg') This throws up an error both when I use the PHP function to evaluate the query and also when I use phpMyAdmin to enter the query manually. However, I can't see anything wrong with it. Can anyone shed some light on this? All of the fields are VARCHAR values, except for itemPrice and itemPostage (which are stored as DECIMAL(4,2)) and the itemBegin and itemEnd, which are stored as DATETIMEs.

    In general, resizable() works fine. Here is where I am getting into an issue. I have a div that contains some resizable items that work fine (resizable() applied to them at some point). user can save items for later view (the innerHTML of the div gets saved into a JavaScript array, then div gets cleared so they can do something else) When items get placed back onto div (from array) -- I do a $('#divname').append(arrayname[i]); -- items are no longer resizable (although visually they have the resizable classes/handle on them) Here is what I have tried so far (none of which have worked): After append() line, I re-initialize the resizable -- $('#items').resizable(); After append() line, remove then re-add resizable -- $('#items').resizable('destroy').resizable(); Any help is appreciated - thanks.

    I have a Ruby script that outputs a heap of text. As an example: puts "line 1" puts "line 2" puts "line 3" # etc... (obviously, this isn't how my script works..) There's not a lot of data - perhaps about 8kb of character data in total. When I run the script on the command line, it works as expected: $ ./my-script.rb line 1 line 2 line 3 But, when I push it into a file, the output is truncated at exactly 4096 bytes: $ ./my-script.rb > output.txt What would cause it to stop at 4kb?

However the process is not running when the program finishes. Is it possible that the JVM kills the program after it has run? Why doesn't this work?

Right now I am trying two things... $('#bob').children('.divTitle')[0].css('background-color', '#0f0'); // assuming children is returning an array... and $('#bob').children('.divTitle').css('background-color', '#0f0'); neither with any success... can anyone tell me what I am missing here? Do I have to go deeper than ".children"?
