• WordPress contact form email as PDF

  I am using the below code for my WordPress site which is emailing all the form details as an HTML text but I need the details to be written into a PDF first and then have to email the PDF as an attachment. How can I achieve this? This is not a PHP code to use PHP's writePDF modules.   Hi, I have a modal popup extender which is triggered by gridview onRowCommand. The gridview and the modal popup extender is in different updatePanel. The panel which assigned to PopupControlID of the mpe contains a textbox and a button. This button will triggered a page method web service that will return a value to be assigned to the textbox. My problem is when I click the button, after partial post back, the mpe disapper (hide). I tried everything to make it show.   Hey guys here is my code (roughly): books.html.erb <% @books.each do |book| %> <% @bookid = book.id %> <div id="enter_stuff"> <%= render "input", :bookid => @bookid %> </div> <%end%> _input.html.erb <% @book = Book.find_by_id(@bookid) %> <strong>your book is: <%=h @book.name %></strong> create.rjs page.replace_html :enter_stuff, :partial => 'input', :object => @bookid The problem here is that only create.js doesn't seem to work (though, if instead of passing the partial I passed "..." it does work, so I know its that there are instance variables in the partial that aren't being reset. Any ideas?) So the final question, is how do I pass an instance variable to a partial through the create.rjs file? p.s. I know I will have duplicate div IDs, I'm not worrying about that for now though. Best, Elliot

  Hi, I am looking for a way for users to select one of the two options (strength or weakness) for a list of qualities. for eg: strength weakness not applicable 1. Communication 2. Punctuality ... Radio button lets me select either a strength or weakness. However, I want the user to check only those qualities that apply and if a user accidentally selects a quality there is no way to undo the selection for a radio button unless there is a third radio button called not applicable or have the user re-enter the page. I was wondering if there is a way to be able to get the flexibility of a checkbox (check / uncheck) in addition to disabling or enabling the other checkbox when one of them is checked or unchecked instead of using three radio buttons. I don't think I have seen this behavior before so wondering if there is a more elegant way of doing this. I am open to other ideas to get the same functionality. Using a checkbox as radio button was just a thought. thanks much.

  Hi, Senario: Masterpage with a UserControl and a child ASPX page In the past when using this senario I've used an Interface as a way to pass a value from the UserControl (embedded in a master page) to the masterpage code behind then consume that value in the child aspx page. My question is now that asp.net 4 have arrived is this still a good way to achieve this or is there another or perhaps better way to do it? I've read somewhere that perhaps "delegates" is perhaps another route to take. Any help much appreciated Lk

  Hi, I am using accordin menu in my site, placed in Master Page, It has 4 pane, each pane have multiple links. it was working fine previously. But suddenly it is displaying this error message There is no source code available for the current location. It's is asking for show assembly.   I'm using the qTip jQuery plugin to create tooltips for a set of links. Two problems: How do I create a set of tooltips for three dynamically generated links where the content of the tooltip will also be dynamic: a href="books.cfm?bookID=11"Book One a href="books.cfm?bookID=22"Book Two a href="books.cfm?bookID=33"Book Three I would like to create a tooltip for each link. Each tooltip will then load details about each book. I've gotten it to work when I've used a static 'bookID' instead of a dynamically generated number. Even when it does work (by using a static number for 'bookID', I can't format the data correctly. It comes back as a query result, or a bunch of text strings. Should I send back the results as HTML? Unsure. PS: I am an absolute NOVICE to Javascript and jQuery, so please try not to be as technical. Many thanks!

• Rails 3.1 text_field form helper and jQuery datepicker date format

  I have a form field in my Rails view like this: <%= f.text_field :date, :class => "datepicker" %> A javascript function converts all input fields of that class to a jQueryUI datepicker. $(".datepicker").datepicker({ dateFormat : "dd MM yy", buttonImageOnly : true, buttonImage : "<%= asset_path('iconDatePicker.gif') %>", showOn : "both", changeMonth : true, changeYear : true, yearRange : "c-20:c+5" }) So far so good. I can edit the record and it persists the date correctly all the way to the DB. My problem is when I want to edit the record again. When the form is pre-populated from the record it displays in 'yyyy-mm-dd' format. The javascript only formats dates which are selected in the datepicker control. Is there any way I can format the date retrieved from the database? At which stage can I do this? Thanks, Dany.   Hi, I am trying to use Jquerys getJSON method to return data server side to my browser, what happens is the url the getJSON method points to does get reached but upon the postback the result does not get returned to the browser for some odd reason. I want to load a page and display tags under a video and then when a user adds a new tag by entering it into text box to add it to the database and then refresh the part of the page which shows these tags and include the new one which has just been added all without the page being reloaded. • How do I find the object with the oldest updated_at column in RJS?

  Hello, I'm trying to remove the object with the oldest updated_at value when the rjs is executed. page.insert_html :top, :messages, :partial => @message page[@message].visual_effect :grow page[:message_form].reset Message.old_messages.each do |m| page.remove(m.id) end page.delay(1) do page.select('.message').last.visual_effect :fade end I'm using .last in there right now, but I have a periodically_call_remote in the view that continually updates and runs the rjs above. The line: page.select('.message').last.visual_effect :fade seems to only execute the first time because after the message that is "last" fades away there's nothing recognized as "last" anymore so I figure instead of calling .last I could find the object that has the oldest updated_at time stamp and just remove that instead. I'm thinking that I probably cannot do this using page.select since it only calls on css elements. And therefore I probably don't have access to the updated_at values in the Message model. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to accomplish removing the oldest message with rjs? The messages are already automatically removed in the model as new messages are created. But I want them to fade automatically when the RJS refreshes the element.

  My problem is -- I have a html file which is really JS program, which reads web pages and show them in customized manner (i.e. it displays the same content in a different way). Basically, I create XMLHttpRequest object and then req.open("GET", web_page_address, false); req.send(""); This gives me (in firefox) an error: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Access to restricted URI denied" code: "1012" nsresult: "0x805303f4 (NS_ERROR_DOM_BAD_URI)" I already googled, and looked at SO but all other issues are very similar with those two exceptions: the file I open in firefox is a local file, opened directly in browser -- I don't have www server running at localhost I don't have any control over the web pages I am reading stuff from So, several solutions I've seen so far (like adding PHP proxy, changing the way external server sends data) cannot be applied here. What else can be done in such case? Another story is I am wondering if such strict security for directly local file has any sense. Thank you in advance for tips/links/etc. Have a nice day!
