  • How to import datarow from one dataset to another?

    - by Disciple
    Hi, I want to copy the row to the new dataset if the previous value in second column isn't the same as the current one (i.e this dataset should have rows with unique values): DataTable tbl = new DataTable(); DataTable tmpTable = ds.Tables[0]; for( var rowIndex = 0; rowIndex < ds.Tables[0].Rows.Count; rowIndex++ ) { object value = null; foreach (DataRow x in tbl.Rows) { if (ds.Tables[0].Rows[rowIndex][1] == x[1]) { value = ds.Tables[0].Rows[rowIndex][1]; break; } } // value already exists if (value == null) { tbl.ImportRow(ds.Tables[0].Rows[rowIndex]); } } How to do this correctly? Maybe one loop instead 2?

  • what is a good way to do countif in python

    - by tolomea
    I want to count how many members of an iterable meet a given condition. I'd like to do it in a way that is clear and simple and preferably reasonably optimal. My current best ideas are: sum(meets_condition(x) for x in my_list) and len([x for x in my_list if meets_condition(x)]) The first one being iterator based is presumably faster for big lists. And it's the same form as you'd use for testing any and all. However it depends on the fact that int(True) == 1, which is somewhat ugly. The second one seems easier to read to me, but it is different from the any and all forms. Does anyone have any better suggestions? is there a library function somewhere that I am missing?

  • How to improve the speed of a loop containing a sqlalchemy query statement as conditional

    - by LtPinback
    This loop checks if a record is in the sqlite database and builds a list of dictionaries for those records that are missing and then executes a multiple insert statement with the list. This works but it is very slow (at least i think it is slow) as it takes 5 minutes to loop over 3500 queries. I am a complete newbie in python, sqlite and sqlalchemy so I wonder if there is a faster way of doing this. list_dict = [] session = Session() for data in data_list: if session.query(Class_object).filter(Class_object.column_name_01 == data[2]).filter(Class_object.column_name_00 == an_id).count() == 0: list_dict.append({'column_name_00':a_id, 'column_name_01':data[2]}) conn = engine.connect() conn.execute(prices.insert(),list_dict) conn.close() session.close() edit: I moved session = Session() outside the loop. Did not make a difference.

  • SSRS 2008: How to do multiple values report?

    - by Shimrod
    Hi everyone, Right now I have an application which uses Reporting Services to render reports. This is working nicely, I call each report with a given value (e.g. a ClientId), and the report gets rendered correctly. However, what I'd like to do now is being able to send multiple ClientIDs to the report, and would like to get 1 pdf file with count(ClientsIDs) pages, each containing the report, according to the ClienID. How is that possible? I don't really know how to name what I want to do, so I don't really find answers on the net right now. Maybe someone has a tutorial for me? Thanks in advance !

  • How do I search for values in a dictionary

    - by fishhead
    what would be the best way to search for a value in a dictionary. for instance I would like to search for modified objects, would going through the entire collection be the only way to do this? c#, .net 2.0 class RecA { public bool modified {get;set:} public string{get;set;} } class RecA_Dic : Dictionary<int,Rec_A> { public bool GetItemByKey(int key,out obj) { return this.TryGetValue(key, out obj); } public List<Rec_A> getModifiedItems() { List<Rec_A> li = new List<Rec_A>(); for(int i=0;i<this.count;i++) if (((Rec_A)this[i]).modified == true) li.Add((Rec_A)this[i]); return li; } }

  • Select past date from database x days from now

    - by Pr0no
    Consider the following table daterange _date trading_day ------------------------ 2011-08-01 1 2011-07-31 0 2011-07-30 0 2011-07-29 1 2011-07-28 1 2011-07-27 1 2011-07-26 1 2011-07-25 1 2011-07-24 0 2011-07-23 0 2011-07-22 1 2011-07-21 1 2011-07-20 1 2011-07-19 1 2011-07-18 1 2011-07-17 0 I'm in need of a query that returns a _date, x days before a given _date. When counting back, _days with trading_day = 0 should be ignored. A few examples: input | output -------------------------+------------ 1 day before 2011-07-19 | 2011-07-18 2 days before 2011-08-01 | 2011-07-28 (trading_day = 0 don't count) 3 days before 2011-07-29 | 2001-07-26 The first one is easy: SELECT _date FROM daterange WHERE trading_day = 0 AND _date < '2011-07-19' LIMIT 1 But I don't know how to query for the other examples. Do you?

    Say I have simple LINQ extenstion: var filtered = data.Where(i => i.Count > 0); I know that this will not evaluated unless I start to use filtered i.e. foreach(DataItem i in filtered) ... However I need to create cloned version of data and release data as soon as possible. data can be changed in other thread so I want to get immediate snapshot of it. How can I force filtered to be evaluated immediately?

  • Can't seem to be able to set ListViewItem.imageIndex

    - by TKL
    I have been scratching my head with this error for at least an hour, what the heck is wrong here? In a loop: if (selectedItems[x].ImageIndex == 3) { List<ListViewItem> dupes = CP.listCache.FindAll(delegate(ListViewItem item) { return item.Text == selectedItems[x].Text; }); if (dupes != null && dupes.Count == 1) dupes[0].ImageIndex = 0; } I can access the imageIndex, but not set it. ArgumentOutOfRange exception occurs.

  • How can I apply indexer to Dictionary.Values (C# 3.0)

    - by Newbie
    I have done a program string[] arrExposureValues = stock.ExposureCollection[dt].Values.ToArray(); for(int i = 0; i < arrExposureValues.Length; i++) Console.WriteLine(arrExposureValues[i]); Nothing wrong and works fine. But is it possible to do something like the below for(int i = 0; i < stock.ExposureCollection[dt].Count; i++) Console.WriteLine(stock.ExposureCollection[dt].Values[i]); This is just for my sake of knowledge (Basically trying to accomplish the same in one line). Note: ExposureCollection is Dictionary<DateTime, Dictionary<string, string>> First of all I have the doubt if it is at all possible! I am using C# 3.0. Thanks.

  • strange behavior while including a class in php

    - by user1864539
    I'm experiencing a strange behavior with PHP. Basically I want to require a class within a PHP script. I know it is straight forward and I did it before but when I do so, it change the behavior of my jquery (1.8.3) ajax response. I'm running a wamp setup and my PHP version is 5.4.6. Here is a sample as for my index.html head (omitting the jquery js include) <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $('#submit').click(function(){ var action = $('#form').attr('action'); var form_data = { fname: $('#fname').val(), lname: $('#lname').val(), phone: $('#phone').val(), email: $('#email').val(), is_ajax: 1 }; $.ajax({ type: $('#form').attr('method'), url: action, data: form_data, success: function(response){ switch(response){ case 'ok': var msg = 'data saved'; break; case 'ko': var msg = 'Oops something wrong happen'; break; default: var msg = 'misc:<br/>'+response; break; } $('#message').html(msg); } }); return false; }); }); </script> body <div id="message"></div> <form id="form" action="handler.php" method="post"> <p> <input type="text" name="fname" id="fname" placeholder="fname"> <input type="text" name="lname" id="lname" placeholder="lname"> </p> <p> <input type="text" name="phone" id="phone" placeholder="phone"> <input type="text" name="email" id="email" placeholder="email"> </p> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="submit" id="submit"> </form> And as for the handler.php file: <?php require('class/Container.php'); $filename = 'xml/memory.xml'; $is_ajax = $_REQUEST['is_ajax']; if(isset($is_ajax) && $is_ajax){ $fname = $_REQUEST['fname']; $lname = $_REQUEST['lname']; $phone = $_REQUEST['phone']; $email = $_REQUEST['email']; $obj = new Container; $obj->insertData('fname',$fname); $obj->insertData('lname',$lname); $obj->insertData('phone',$phone); $obj->insertData('email',$email); $tmp = $obj->give(); $result = $tmp['_obj']; /* Push data inside array */ $array = array(); foreach($result as $key => $value){ array_push($array,$key,$value); } $xml = simplexml_load_file($filename); // check if there is any data in if(count($xml->elements->data) == 0){ // if not, create the structure $xml->elements->addChild('data',''); } // proceed now that we do have the structure if(count($xml->elements->data) == 1){ foreach($result as $key => $value){ $xml->elements->data->addChild($key,$value); } $xml->saveXML($filename); echo 'ok'; }else{ echo 'ko'; } } ? The Container class: <?php class Container{ private $_obj; public function __construct(){ $this->_obj = array(); } public function addData($data = array()){ if(!empty($data)){ $oldData = $this->_obj; $data = array_merge($oldData,$data); $this->_obj = $data; } } public function removeData($key){ if(!empty($key)){ $oldData = $this->_obj; unset($oldData[$key]); $this->_obj = $oldData; } } public function outputData(){ return $this->_obj; } public function give(){ return get_object_vars($this); } public function insertData($key,$value){ $this->_obj[$key] = $value; } } ? The strange thing is that my result always fall under the default switch statement and the ajax response fit both present statement. I noticed then if I just paste the Container class on the top of the handler.php file, everything works properly but it kind of defeat what I try to achieve. I tried different way to include the Container class but it seem to be than the issue is specific to this current scenario. I'm still learning PHP and my guess is that I'm missing something really basic. I also search on stackoverflow regarding the issue I'm experiencing as well as PHP.net, without success. Regards,

  • C++ shifting bits

    - by Bobby
    I am new to shifting bits, but I am trying to debug the following snippet: if (!(strcmp(arr[i].GetValType(), "f64"))) { dem_content_buff[BytFldPos] = tmp_data; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 1] = tmp_data >> 8; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 2] = tmp_data >> 16; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 3] = tmp_data >> 24; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 4] = tmp_data >> 32; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 5] = tmp_data >> 40; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 6] = tmp_data >> 48; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 7] = tmp_data >> 56; } I am getting a warning saying the lines with "32" to "56" have a shift count that is too large. The "f64" in the predicate just means that the data should be 64bit data. How should this be done?

  • Is there any way that I can draw fast a chart with too many series? [on hold]

    - by Maryam Bagheri
    I have a project that need to draw a fast chart with many series. I must change start position of drawing to a favor position when user want. .Net Chart is slow in lots of series. I wanted to use this library: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/32836/A-simple-C-library-for-graph-plotting?msg=4109664#xx4109664xx but loading speed is too slow when count of series increases. When I plot the chart, I must invalidate the chart for updates, drawing speed will be too slow if there are too many series. I need at least 900 series in a chart for this project. I wanted to use multiple layer series to decrease invalidate rate with the idea: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/84833/Drawing-multiple-layers-without-flicker I do not know this idea would be helpful. I tested LightningChart control but it could not help me.

  • Can I overwrite an Object that has been Locked() in C#?

Is the following code valid in a multithreaded environment? List<CounterInternal> UploadToServer = new List<CounterInternal>(); List<CounterInternal> StagingQueue = new List<CounterInternal>(); lock (this.UploadToServer) lock (this.StagingQueue) { if (UploadToServer.Count == 0) { UploadToServer = StagingQueue.DoDeepCopyExtensionMethod(); // is the following line valid given that I have a Lock() on it? StagingQueue = new List<CounterInternal>(); } } }

  • Are there any well-known algorithms or computer models that computer scientists use to predict FIFA

    - by Khnle
    Occasionally I read news articles that mention about some computer models that computer scientists use to predict winners of some sporting events or the odds for betting which I think there must be a mathematical model behind it. I never bothered to think twice even though I am a "pseudo computer scientist" myself. With the 2010 FIFA World Cup just underway, and since I am also a "pseudo football/soccer player" myself, I just started to wonder about these calculations algorithms. For example, I know one factor is determining the strength of opponents, so that a win against a strong opponent can count more than a win against a weak opponent. But it now kind of gets in a circular loop, or at least how does one determine the strength of a team in the first place, before that team can be considered strong or weak? If it's based on a historical data then there's no way that could be accurate, because those players of the past are no longer on the fields so their impact is none (except maybe if they become coaches like Maradona) Anyway, long question short, if you're happen to be working in this field or have some knowledge, please shed some lights.

    I have a table with columns named with the number of hour of day like this: col00 NUMBER(5) col01 NUMBER(5) col02 NUMBER(5) ... col23 NUMBER(5) ...and I have another query that returns a count by hour. I want to recover the colXX value by hour.... then I can recover with "decode" or "case when..." but I want know if exists any way to recover the column by a text like this: select "col"||hour from table; in the hypothetical above example if hour is 13 then would be translated like: select col13 from table; there is any way to do this ?

  • LINQ. Grouping by days. How to do this easily?

    - by punkouter
    I can't seem to find any god reference on this. I have alot of data in SQL with dates. So I wanted to make a line chart to show this data over time. If I want to show it over a perioud of days then I need to group by days.. But the LOGDATE is the full date.. not the DAY.. So I have this below.. but LINQ doesnt know what 'DayOfYear' property is.. HELP var q = from x in dc.ApplicationLogs let dt = x.LogDate group x by new { dayofyear = dt.Value.DayOfYear } into g select new { iCount = g.Count(), strDate = g.Key };

  • Declared Properties and assigning values with self

    - by Shaun Budhram
    I understand how declared properties work - I just need a clarification on when Objective C is using the accessor method vs. when it is not. Say I have a property declared using retain: @property (nonatomic, retain) NSDate *date; ... and later... @synthesize date If I say: date = x Is that calling the accessor method? Or is it just setting the variable? self.date = x This seems to call the accessor method (I think but I'm not sure, since it seems like the retain count is increasing). Can anyone clarify this issue? I'm curious because i have some variables that seem to become invalid before I need them (and I have to specifically call retain), and I suspect this is why.

  • Getting Popular Topics on a Custom Made Forum

    - by Navarr
    For this website we're working on, we're trying to get the most popular topics (based on how many posts have been made in them within the last 24 hours). We have a medium to large based forum, and the current MySQL query looks like this: SELECT `forums_topics`.*, ( SELECT COUNT(`id`) FROM `forums_posts` WHERE `postdate` > (UNIX_TIMESTAMP()-60*60*24) AND `topicid`=`forums_topics`.`id` ) AS `trendy_threads` FROM `forums_topics` WHERE `deleted`=0 ORDER BY `trendy_threads` DESC,`postdate` DESC LIMIT 3 This unfortunately causes an SQL timeout with just one query and Error 500's. How can we get this information as quickly and as efficiently as possible?

Does anyone can give me an idea how to archive this?

  • ASP/HTML problem with spaces and monofonts

    - by nickik
    I have a ASP has a Function that converts ä to &auml so far so good. I have lets say space for 10 char's if there are more cut them of if there are less fill the space up with &nbsp's. . Like this: test &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp but if i say "täst" it does this: te &auml t &nbsp It interprets the &auml not as one char it looks at it as 6 chars. Is there a clever way around that? This problem messes up my design because I need the right count of spaces. The whole thing goes into a big select box. Of you have to add a ; at the end of ever &... I could add them because the Editor would really interprt them.
