  • Enabling Squid delay pool eats up the entire memory

    I am using "squid-3.1.8-1.el5" in my CentOS 5 32 bit system. In normal condition Squid uses 85m - 90m, but when I enable the delay pool parameters the memory usage suddenly rise up 2GB. The memory keeps on increasing until the system is out of resource. The following are my delay pool settings: delay_pools 1 delay_class 1 1 delay_access 1 allow all delay_parameters 1 192000/192000 Is there anything I am missing here or is it a bug with Squid ?

  • No scheduled tasks in Esxi 5?

    I'm using the free version of VMWare's ESXi 5.1.0. I'm logged in as root in the vSphere client, and I want to create some scheduled tasks. According to the documentation, I should go to "Home"="Management"="Scheduled tasks". However, when I go to "Home", I only have "Inventory" and "Administration". There is no "Management" section. Is this a limitation of the free version (I doubt it, but still), or am I missing the obvious here?

    Is there a hidden setting or an external utility that would enable moving windows on Windows like on GNOME? I'm particularly thinking of moving windows using Alt + Drag and drop (which can be changed to Win + drag and drop). I have machine with Windows (7) and two big monitors at work, and I tend to use multiple smaller windows. Moving them quickly around is essential, so I'm always missing this GNOME feature.

    I have purchases a server today and I am almost through configuring it, I have managed to install mysql and have enabled a firewall which allows access to ports 80, 22 and 443 I am trying to test out a simple php file to see whether all is well but I get a 404 Not found error, I am certain that this file exists which was created using vi as I have confirmed it using Filezilla. What am I missing? is there another step that I must take to allow a simple php file to work.

    Isn't unencrypted /boot partition a weakness for encrypted LVM setup? Attacker may install a malware to /boot partition so that it may sniff encryption password next time system boots. It may also be done by a malware installed to Windows on dual-boot system without any physical access. Am I missing some protection scheme or at least I may verify that /boot contents didn't change since last system shutdown?

  • Project not publishing start/finish date for custom TFS work items

    I've got a TFS 2012 project set up with custom work items, that include Start and Finish date read-only fields (Microsoft.VSTS.Scheduling.StartDate and FinishDate). When I publish one of those custom work items from within Office Project, it does not populate those fields the same way as when I publish a Task work item (builtin TFS work item). I've looked at the transitions in the work items, and also the TFS project field mapping XML file but can't find anything that explains the difference in behaviour. What am I missing?

    I am using Xampp for a local dev server, I am trying to upgrade it so I can use the latest version of PHP. I had it installed in my c drive c:\webserver\php I just installed everything new in a new drive D d:\webserver\php I then boot everything up and then I run phpinfo() and it is still showing my old version of PHP and even points to the old php installation C:\webserver\php\php.ini Am I missing something obvious here?

    The first part of the stack-trace is as follows: "UnsatisfiedLinkError (/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.19/jre/lib/i386/libawt.so: libmlib_image.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory):" Both libawt.so and libmlib_image.so exist and are in the same directory. Does libawt.so look in a different directory? Is there an environment option I'm missing? This is part of a Rails application using Rjb (ruby-java bridge). Any help is much appreciated.

    My admin share C$ has been removed causing our server managed security - Sophos Endpoint Security and Control, to stop updating this client because it is unable to create local tasks. I've searched for two days now, lots of stuff about disabling C$ or allowing network access via a regedit - but nothing about restoring a missing "default admin share C$". OK I can recreate C$ from the mmc but it's removed on a reboot. System is Win7 Pro 64-bit on a domain Very grateful for any help... Nick

    Trying to save time and I need an easy way to make sure copied text from word is UTF-8 compatible for the web. Generally I have to copy and paste 4 or 5 pages of text at a time.     Im using Thuderbird IMAP accesing my Gmail account, what folder needs to subscribe and what safe to unsubscribe? I ask this because I noticed that the messages inside say example: Important Folder, Starred Folder, etc, have the same contents meaning they are also have copies in either Sent Items and/or Inbox. How to resolve this? If I unsubscribe to all the folder but except Inbox and Sent Items only, will I be missing something on my messages? Thanks you

I originally assumed there's something disabled in 2007 that I need to turn back on, but after having opened it in excel 2007 it no longer works in previous versions either.     I will be buying a 2TB hard drive soon, and would like to use it as media storage. I would like to be able to read/write from both Windows (version 7, 64bit) and Ubuntu Linux, and I need support for files greater than 4GB in size (so I think this rules out FAT32). I'm using IFS drives at the moment to access my linux ext4 partitions, and I find it unstable. Does this mean NTFS? Is there something else I'm missing?

    I have downloaded some .m4b files, but my mp3 player cannot play them. I have tried several converters i found through google, but they can't seem to be able to convert the whole files. (Its an 8 hour long file, first program only converted it to a 1 hour long mp3, and the 2nd converted it to 5 hrs long, but with 3 hrs still missing). Is there a reliable program for converting them that i can use?

  • Accessing temperature data on ESXi5.1?

    For ESXi5.1 (VMWare vSphere) images, I can see temperature data on the vSphere user interface (under Monitor / Hardware Status). I tried scouring the available snmp data using snmpwalk, but can't find the data anywhere in there. Maybe I'm missing something. Does anybody know the right MIB for temperature data? Otherwise, ow can that data be accessed? By the way, this is a machine installed from an image provided by HP.

  • Unable to find javac after installing OpenJDK 1.6 and 1.7

    I am currently at a loss as to why this is happening. I did some basic research by running: whereis javac -and- find / -name javac ...and I came up with nothing I searched the web for answers but they all seem to focus on javac existing on the filesystem, and that needs to be done is to restore a missing sym-link. Has anyone run up against this issue and found a solution ? I have attempted to install openJDK on Scientific Linux 6.3 with the command: yum install openjdk Thanks!!!

    Hi I've just finished installing Visual Studio 2010 professional onto Vista. But don't seem to have Silverlight 4. If I try to create a new project I can see Silverlight project templates but only seem to be able to target Silverlight 3. Is Silverlight 4 not part of vs2010 pro by default? I also noticed the msbuild targets is missing ie the v4.0 folder doesn't exist at the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\ Any help/thoughts would be much appreciated.     I have problem with installing apache on the ubuntu server running on virtual machine. (one of the so called cloud hosting) Installation went smooth apache is started but I can't access it through http://84.51.250.58[this is not a link] (just to see first "It works!" page) nor I can ping let say google.com using shell from remote viewer. It's brand new installation, it should work or am I missing something?
