    I'm not sure if the title is clear but with more words what I want to say is: I'm building a PC for a decorator who's main work is to render photorealistic images of house interiors. For that she uses 3dsMax and AutoCAD with Accurender and Photoshop. Is there a need for professional graphics card like Quadro series or FireGL series? Do these cards offer any improvements on rendering time or are they only used for real time rendering?

Example in question: RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpe?g|gif|png|bmp)$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/no-leech.jpg [R,NC] The motive behind this question is a desire to create a single htaccess file that would match against an addon domain (on a shared hosting account) and an infinite amount of subdomains below it to prevent hotlinking of images.

Are VMs usually used to run the backbone (actual code) of DFS structure ?     I am creating thumbnails from much larger images and have been using this command successfully for some time: convert FILE -resize "64x" -crop "64x64+0+16" +repage -strip OUTFILE I also do some other processing that is not relevant to the question. I realized that this does not adjust the resolution at all, so if I use a 300dpi image, it ends up displaying really small on some devices. I want to resample it to 72x72 so I have been trying with this command: convert FILE -resize "64x" -crop "64x64+0+16" +repage -strip -resample 72x72 OUTFILE And expected the 64x64 image at 300dpi to be resampled to a 64x64 image at 72dpi, but instead, I am getting a very funny size and density. Haven't Checked on Acronis though, but i don't simpatize with private solutions. Question: Is there a software solution which is able to build a "Live" image? Would appreciate anwsers, since I'm one step away from building a Clonezilla test enviroment and this will just help on my decision. Thank you.

    Hi there, I´ve got an jpeg image with text on it (badly scanned document), which is hardly readable. I have already played around with the sharpen filters, contrast, levels and the color replacement tool, with decent success. however my question is, what else can be done order to maximize the texts readablity? the picture is also somewhat noisy. Any help on this one would be greatly apreciated, since I absolutely need the images content.

    I want to learn how to use Software Raid 10, is it possible to use VirtualBox by adding four storage images? This is my plan: 4x 100mb partitions (1 on each drive) configured as a raid 1 for /boot in ext3. Then with the remaining space on each drive, setup a software raid partition and configure it to to LVM and raid 10. In the LVM, set up a 4gb swap partition and the remaining space as the root partition ( / ) as ext3.

  • Apache returning text/html on some png files

    I have an Apache web server that has a sub folder for images. For some reason, a few of the .png files are returned as text/html and not as image/png. There is nothing indicating a permission problem and the files return with code 200 and with full size. I made sure that image/png is set and even tried forcing it with .htaccess Any idea where to look next? Edit: looks like an .htaccess configuration problem on a parent directory.

  • Protecting Backups from Viruses

    Currently we are using ReadyNAS RN102 by NETGEAR to hold all our images from all our machines. My question is can viruses expand from the machines and infect the NAS drive and the backups? We are using AOMEI Backupper. EDIT: Basically, I want to keep my clean backups clean. I keep Daily, Weekly, Monthly achievable backups, my worry is a virus might attempt or try to infect these backups making using them worthless.

  • Extend volume where unallocated space lies ahead of it

    I want to extend my volume. However the unallocated space lies ahead of the volume. Is it possible to extend this volume without converting it to a dynamic volume? I can't include images yet, so here you go: http://www.abload.de/img/unbenannttboxq.png I tried to use diskpart with the extend command but it doesn't work. Makes sense because the instructions says that the unallocated space has to be behind the volume.

  • Mount VHD at Boot in Windows Server 2008 R2

    I need a way to attach a VHD at boot in Windows Server 2008 R2. I tried to accomplish this task by creating a diskpart script that attached the vdisk at boot, which would work if it were not for the fact that it triggers UAC when I call on diskpart to mount the image. What is the point of auto mounting a VHD at boot if I have to click Yes to accept the UAC? Is there some other way of mounting VHD images at boot in Windows Server 2008 R2?

  • Libboost 1.38.0 on Ubuntu 11.04 Natty

    I have a Linux/Ubuntu DLL that depends on libboost_thread-mt.so.1.38.0 (As shown in the picture below). I've tried various ways including building my own version of LibBoost 1.38.0 yet none of my methods have worked. I was wondering if 1.38.0 is available precompiled on earlier versions of Ubuntu or if my architecture (64 Bit) is not compatible with LibBoost.   • How remove/de-index a page from Google?

    On the results page when I Google "e-luminate", the 3rd and 4th link seems to point to specific directory deep within the folders which stores the images. How can I get rid of these 2 results from Google search results? How can I get Google to de-index it? I checked on the server and the folders did not seem different from other folders but these 2 paths seems to get indexed by Google. Thank you.

  • Screen flicker during content update, especially in Firefox

    I'm using Nouveau video driver for my NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 video-card with Ubuntu 10.04. Screen flickers frequently, especially when I'm loading pages with many images/banners in Firefox. I tried to use proprietary NVIDIA driver, but it behaves itself even worse. Nv driver doesn't work at all. I also filed a bugreport in launchpad if you need any additional information.
