• How to add a margin to a CheckedListBox in .NET?

  I'm writing an windforms application using .NET (actually IronPython, but that's not relevant), and I have a CheckedListBox object in my GUI. It's working fine, it has about 20 items in a multicolumn layout. But I can't figure out how to give the thing a nice internal margin--I want to insert around 20 or 30 pixels of whitespace around the top, bottom, left, and right edges of the checkboxes. To be clear, I want the whitespace to appear between the border of the CheckedListBox and the Checkboxes inside it, not outside the whole component. Hopefully this is an easy answer, and I'm just missing it cause I'm new to programming in windows. If its not possible, I guess that'd be good to know too, so I don't waste anymore time with it. (If I were doing this in Swing (Java) I would be looking to set the Insets on my component, or maybe build up a compound border with some empty space in it.)

An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) • IRequiresSessionState - how do I use it?

  I need to be able to change when I can see session state. I found out about the IRequiresSessionState Marker Interface, but have not been able to figure out how to use it. I think I may be missing something obvious. Can one of you C# guru's give me a quick 1-2-3 step through? (e.g. 1 create a new class, 2. put public interface IRequiresSessionState in it. 3. Use IRequiresSessionState('abra_cadabra') to change the value.). Thank you for your help.

• Sum an Array - Objective-C

  Hi Guys, I'm just starting out and I'm looking for an easy way to sum a simple array. I've read into apple developer site on key value coding and I don't understand how to apply that to my array or if that's the appropriate way to sum this. My stumbling block with the key value coding is the .keypathToProperty - I can sort of understand that you need a further reference in a 2D array but they don't show the array code, only the keypath to the title of the row so I can't figure it out yet. • why doesn't hitting enter when a SELECT is focused submit the form?

  Consider the following HTML: <form action=""> <input /> <select> <option>A</option> <option>B</option> </select> <input type="submit" /> </form> If the focus is on the input (text box) and I hit enter, the form submits. But, if the focus is on the select (dropdown box) and I hit enter, nothing happens. I know I could figure out some JavaScript to override this, but I want to know why hitting enter doesn't just work? Is there something I would break by capturing the enter with JavaScript (maybe some native keyboard accessibility of the dropdown)?

  I have HTML Content which was being displayed in a text. The next iteration of my app is display the HTML contents into a UIWebView. So I basically replaced my UITextView with UIWebView. However I could not figure out how to inset my HTML snippit into the view. It seems to need a URLRequest which I do not want. I have already stored the HTML content in memory and want to load and display it from memory. Any ideas how I should proceed?

  I need to work with private HTTPS API and client has incorrect certificate on the host. Certificate is for www.clienthost.com and I'm working with api.clienthost.com. So I need to connect via HTTPS to api.clienthost.com ignoring incorrect certificate but still make sure it is the one for www.clienthost.com and not something else. • How can I calculate data for a boxplot (quartiles, median) in a Rails app on Heroku? (Heroku uses Po

  I'm trying to calculate the data needed to generate a box plot which means I need to figure out the 1st and 3rd Quartiles along with the median. I have found some solutions for doing it in Postgresql however they seem to depend on either PL/Python or PL/R which it seems like Heroku does not have either enabled for their postgresql databases. In fact I ran "select lanname from pg_language;" and only got back "internal". I also found some code to do it in pure ruby but that seems somewhat inefficient to me. I'm rather new to Box Plots, Postgresql, and Ruby on Rails so I'm open to suggestions on how I should handle this. There is a possibility to have a lot of data which is why I'm concerned with performance however if the solution ends up being too complex I may just do it in ruby and if my application gets big enough to warrant it get my own Postgresql I can host somewhere else. *note: since I was only able to post one link, cause I'm new, I decided to share a pastie with some relevant information

  I know how to do it using simple recursion, but in order to complete this particular assignment I need to be able to accumulate on the stack and throw an exception that holds the answer in it.   Hi I was looking for a way to call the edit method directly. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)theTableView commitEditingStyle:(UITableViewCellEditingStyle)editingStyle forRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath I have all my logic for animating manipulated cells, removing from my model array etc. in this method. It is getting called when a user swipes, adds or rearranges, but I would like to call it manually/directly as a background thread changes my model.   Hi, My question seems to be something easy, but I can't figure it out. Let's say I have a "root" IEnumerable of objects. Each object has IEnumerable of strings. How can I obtain a single IEnumerable of those strings? A possible solution is to do: public IEnumerable<string> DoExample() { foreach (var c in rootSetOfObjects) { foreach (var n in c.childSetOfStrings) { yield return n; } } } But maybe there is a magic solution with Linq?

• Can't Instantiate Windsor Custom Component Activator

  Hi, I'm getting an exception calling Resolve: KernelException: Could not instantiate custom activator Inner Exception: {"Constructor on type 'MyProj.MyAdapter`1[[MyProj.MyBusinessObject, MyAsm, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null]]' not found."} There's definitely a public parameterless constructor there (and I've verified this using reflection at runtime)...so I figure the problem might have to do with the fact that it's generic? I've tried getting the component model object and setting RequiresGenericArguments to true, but that hasn't gotten me anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

• VS2010 Publish Profiles -- Where are they stored?

  We have set up a few Publish Profiles that are used to deploy web apps to various servers, and it all works great with 1-click deployment. However, w find that even though the entire solution is under source control (svn), the profiles do not seem to be carried over, so we need to re-create the profiles on each developer's machine manually. It seems, since the profiles only exist for the solution currently loaded, that they must be stored in the solution files somewhere, but they do not carry over when someone else does an update to pull down the code. I'm guessing whatever file they're in is one we aren' covering in the source control project, but I haven't been able to figure out which one. Someone must know where the Publish Profiles are stored -- is there any way to copy them from machine to machine so we don't have to retype them for each developer?

  I was reading about rem units in CSS3, and was a little confused. If you use rem, do you still use em or does that replace it? For example: .selector { margin-bottom:24px; margin-bottom:2.4rem; font-size:16px; font-size:1.6rem; } or .selector { margin-bottom:24px; margin-bottom:2.4em; margin-bottom:2.4rem; } Just trying to figure out if rem takes the place of em, or if it's just another unit.

• Using file-path to images stored within the Application Settings

  I am trying to develop an application that uses a number of images that are stored in a seperate remote file location. The file-paths to the UI elements are stored within the Application Settings. Although I understand how to access and use the file-path from Settings in C# (Properties.Settings.Default.pathToGridImages + "OK.png"), I am at a loss to figure out how to utilize the Settings paths in WPF, and can only seem to access the file if I include the file-path, such as: <Grid.Background> <ImageBrush ImageSource="C:\Skins\bottomfill.png" TileMode="Tile" /> </Grid.Background> I would have thought that concatenating "Properties.Settings.Default.pathToGridImages" with "bottomfill.png" in WPF could be done much like it can be done in C#. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

• Html combo box to database record Id

  I'm fairly sure there has to be a simple solution to my problem, but I am a new web developer and can't quite figure it out. On my page I have a combo box whose values are filled from my database. When the user submits the form, how to I go about converting those values back to the record numbers in the database? Up to now I have been just doing a sort of reversed lookup in my database to try to get the record's ID. This has quite a few obvious flaws and I am sure that there has to be a better way. I am used to MS Forms combo boxes where the record data and ID are never separated. But in the case of a web form, I have no way to do multiple columns in the combo box like I am used to. Thanks! • Obtaining references to function objects on the execution stack from the frame object?

  Given the output of inspect.stack(), is it possible to get the function objects from anywhere from the stack frame and call these? If so, how? (I already know how to get the names of the functions.) Here is what I'm getting at: Let's say I'm a function and I'm trying to determine if my caller is a generator or a regular function? I need to call inspect.isgeneratorfunction() on the function object. And how do you figure out who called you? inspect.stack(), right? So if I can somehow put those together, I'll have the answer to my question. Perhaps there is an easier way to do this?

  I am trying to create a new website on a remote server via msbuild (I like to call it "msdeploy"). I've downloaded and used the SDC tasks, the MSBuildExtension tasks and the MSBuildCommunity tasks but I simply can't get it right. I figure that WebDirectorySetting (from MSBuild.Community.Tasks.IIS) is my best bet but I can't find the right SettingName to pass. I'd like to use some sort of MSBuild task to accomplish this but maybe it just doesn't exist. Custom VBS or WMI are my last resort... Thanks

  Hi, The following example of using the sendMail method provided by the grails mail plugin appears in this book. sendMail { to "[email protected]" subject "Registration Complete" body view:"/foo/bar", model:[user:new User()] } I understand that the code within {} is a closure that is passed to sendMail as a parameter. I also understand that to, subject and body are method calls. I'm trying to figure out what the code that implements the sendMail method would look like, and my best guess is something like this: MailService { String subject String recipient String view def model sendMail(closure) { closure.call() // Code to send the mail now that all the // various properties have been set } to(recipient) { this.recipient = recipient } subject(subject) { this.subject = subject; } body(view, model) { this.view = view this.model = model } } Is this reasonable, or am I missing something? • Is there a sample set of web log data available for testing analysis against?

  Sorry if this isn't strictly speaking a programming question, but I figure my best chance of success would be to ask here. I'm developing some web log file analysis algorithms, but to date I only have access to a fairly small amount of web log data to process. One algorithm I want to use makes some assumptions about 'the shape' of typical web log data, and so I'd like to test it against a larger 'exemplar' - perhaps the logs of a busy site with a good distribution of traffic from different sources etc. Is there a set of such data available somewhere?   Hello, I am trying to do an image uploader, user can: - browse local file with button.browse - select one and save it as a FileReference. - then we do FileReference.load() then bind the data to our image control. - after we make a rotation on it and change the data of image. - and to finish we upload it to a server. To change the data of image i get the matrix of the displayed image and transform it then i re-use the new matrix and bind it to my old image: private function TurnImage():void { //Turn it var m:Matrix = _img.transform.matrix; rotateImage(m); _img.transform.matrix = m; } Now the mater is that i really don't know how to send the data as a file to my server cause its not stored in the FileReference and data inside FileReference is readOnly so we can't change it or create a new, so i can't use .upload();. Then i tried HttpService.send but i can't figure out how you send a file and not a mxml.
