    How can you change application colors on the fly? I am currently using the following to change the background: LinearLayout mScreen = (LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.main); mScreen.setBackgroundColor( mycolor ); I tried to use Style's to change the text using: @color/white The problem is that Spinners/Buttons and Spinner-Popup-Lists all change to white text as well, making them unreadable. I have over 20 Classes in my app that all need to be able to change color combination's.

  • Java Best Practice for type resolution at runtime.

    I'm trying to define a class (or set of classes which implement the same interface) that will behave as a loosely typed object (like JavaScript). They can hold any sort of data and operations on them depend on the underlying type. I have it working in three different ways but none seem ideal. These test versions only allow strings and integers and the only operation is add. Adding integers results in the sum of the integer values, adding strings concatenates the strings and adding an integer to a string converts the integer to a string and concatenates it with the string. The final version will have more types (Doubles, Arrays, JavaScript-like objects where new properties can be added dynamically) and more operations.   • Adding a search box to a windows forms web browser control that highlights text

    I have a windows forms (using c#) application. It displays a webpage and has a textbox/botton combination which can be used to search for text displayed to the user. Currently I search the inner text of all elements for the text in the textbox. And then I weed out the elements that are redundant (for example a word could be in a 'p' and 'b' element where the 'b' is a child element of 'p' so the element returned should be 'b'). Finally I run the ScrollIntoView(true) method on the found element. I'd now like to add a function that highlights the text (like if you search for a term in a real webbrowser). My first thought was to just inject html and or javascript code around the text but that seems like a messy solution. Any ideas on how I should do this? Thanks for your help!

  • Mysql query - problem with order by

    I'm using two tables for selecting messages between users. Table "messages" for recording the messages and table "members" for checking users data (are they activ or deleted). This query working fine. What I need to do is list the received messsages order by last received. I tried to do with "ORDER BY messages.id DESC" at the end of this query but it didn't work. All messages are listed from first received. This is the mysql join table query that I'm using: sql = "select distinct messages.fromid, messages.readed, messages.fromid, messages.toid, members.id as pid From messages Inner Join members on members.id = messages.fromid Where messages.toid = ".$mid." AND members.status = 7 AND messages.kreaded !='1' AND messages.subject != 'readed' GROUP BY fromid" Is there any way to do this?

I still use quite a lot of singletons, especially for Factory classes, and while you have to be a bit careful about multithreading issues (like any class actually) fail to see why they are so awful. This site especially seems to assume that everyone agrees that Singletons are evil. Why?

    Say I've got a list of lists. Say the inner list of three elements in size and looks like this: ['apple', 'fruit', 1.23] The outer list looks like this data = [['apple', 'fruit', 1.23], ['pear', 'fruit', 2.34], ['lettuce', 'vegetable', 3.45]] I want to iterate through the outer list and cull data for a temporary list only in the case that element 1 matches some keyword (aka: 'fruit'). So, if I'm matching fruit, I would end up with this: tempList = [('apple', 1.23), ('pear', 2.34)] This is one way to accomplish this: tempList = [] for i in data: if i[1] == 'fruit': tempList.append(i[0], i[2]) is there some 'Pythonic' way to do this in fewer lines?

This query i supposed to insert two different passengers in a database on two different flights. I'm sure both seats aren't taken, but i can't figure out why the trigger is giving me the error.   • Export Flash Animation to ActionScript

    Hi I would like to make an animation using some tool (like e.g. Flash CS) and then export it for ActionScript. I thought this could be done in Flash CS but I just tried it by making an animation, converting it to a symbol and then selecting "Export for ActionScript". The problem: in the project folder there are no ActionScript classes generated. Am I doing it wrong or do I have to use a different tool to do the animation? Many many thanks for your help, Gloria

    I am trying to convert an Adobe CS4 based plugin to CS5. This project has never been mine, this is the first time that i am seeing it. When I compile the source with what i was given, I get errors like: Does not name a type Example: SPAPI SPErr SPBasicAcquireSuite( const char *name, int64 version, const void **suite ); I get that: SPErr does not name a type I dont see any classes with SPErr being defined, but I doubt that Adobe has left this out of the SDK. I am using the PS_CS5_SDK_3 SDK

This field is referenced in a stored procedure, but I am unable to identify which table this id is a primary key for? Any suggestions? Or is it better (and why) to do it like this: function method = function(){ return this.foo; } function A(){ this.foo = 1; this.method = method; } var a = new A(); Or are the javascript engines smart enough not to create a new 'method' function every time? Specifically Google's v8 and node.js. Also, any general recommendations on when to use which technique are welcome. In my specific example, it really suits me to use the first example, but I know thath the outer function will be instantiated many times.

    I followed this article on making a table-per-type inheritance model for my entities, but I get the following error when I try to add an instance of a subclass to the database. Here is how I create the subtype: var cust = db.Users.CreateObject<Customer>(); // Customer inherits User db.Users.AddObject(cust); db.SaveChanges(); I get the following error when I make that last call: "A value shared across entities or associations is generated in more than one location. Check that mapping does not split an EntityKey to multiple store-generated columns." With the following inner exception: "An item with the same key has already been added." Any ideas on what I could be missing?
