  • Spring redirect: prefix issue

    Hello, I have an application which uses Spring 3. I have a view resolver which builds my views based on a String. So in my controllers I have methods like this one. @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "tiles:tileName" } I need to return a RedirectView to solve the duplicate submission due to updating the page in the browser, so I have thought to use Spring redirect: prefix. The problem is that it only redirects when I user a URL alter the prefix (not with a name a resolver can understand). I wanted to do something like this: @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "redirect:tiles:tileName" } Is there any way to use RedirectView with the String (the resolvable view name) I get from the every controller method?   • Spring - SessionAttribute problem

    Hello, I want to implement something like this: @Controller @SessionAttributes("promotion") class PromotionController { @RequestMapping("showPromo") void showPromotionInfo( @RequestParam("promId") String promotionId, @ModelAttribute Promotion promotion, Errors errors ) { promotion = Promotions.get(promotionId); if (promotion == null || promotion.validates() == false) { errors.reject("promotion.invalid"); } return "prom"; } } The code is invalid, wont work and has some bad errors, but I don't know how to write it better. When user comes to an URL "showPromo?promId=15", controller should validate if the promotion is valid (outdated/non-existent/etc.). If it is valid - it should show it's information and save the promotion to model and session. If it's not - it should show some error about promotion being invalid. Problem is, I need to save the promotion in the session (for several requests) and don't want to use direct session management. Is it currently possible with Spring? Or am I doing something wrong? Could you please provide the optimal solution to my problem using Spring 3? Thanks in advance.

    hiya i have a section that when created takes in images, however when you edit this item i dont want them to re-upload none changes images just to change a description or name. i have created this that deals with uploading files: public void UploadFiles(string currentFileName, FormCollection form) { // loop through all files in form post foreach (string file in Request.Files) { HttpPostedFileBase hpf = Request.Files[file]; // if no file is uploaded, we could be editing so set to current value if (hpf.ContentLength == 0) { form[file] = currentFileName; } else { //rename the file unique so we dont clash with names var filename = hpf.FileName.Replace(" ", "_").Replace(".", DateTime.Now.Date.Ticks + "."); UploadFileName = filename; hpf.SaveAs(Server.MapPath("~/Content/custom/" + filename)); // set the name of the file in our post to the new name form[file] = UploadFileName; } } // ensure value is still sent when no files are uploaded on edit if(Request.Files.Count <= 0) { UploadFileName = currentFileName; } } all works fine when only one image is required (CurrentFileName), however there is now a new image available taking it to a total of 2 images in the database therefor currentFileName is obsolete. has anyone tackled this and how as i have hit a wall with this one. thought of string[] currentFiles but cant see how to match this into string file in Request.Files. if it helps i am also working with models for the form so i could pass over the model but i dont think your able to do model.file without some kind of reflection. help much appreciated. thanks

  • Setting nested object to null when combobox has empty value

    Hello, I have a Class which models a User and another which models his country. Something like this: public class User{ private Country country; //other attributes and getter/setters } public class Country{ private Integer id; private String name; //other attributes and getter/setters } I have a Spring form where I have a combobox so the user can select his country or can select the undefined option to indicate he doen't want to provide this information. So I have something like this: <form:select path="country"> <form:option value="">-Select one-</form:option> <form:options items="${countries}" itemLabel="name" itemValue="id"/> </form:select> In my controller I get the autopopulated object with the user information and I want to have country set to null when the "-Select one-" option has been selected. So I have set a initBinder with a custom editor like this: @InitBinder protected void initBinder(WebDataBinder binder) throws ServletException { binder.registerCustomEditor(Country.class, "country", new CustomCountryEditor()); } and my editor do something like this: public class CustomCountryEditor(){ @Override public String getAsText() { //I return the Id of the country } @Override public void setAsText(String str) { //I search in the database for a country with id = new Integer(str) //and set country to that value //or I set country to null in case str == null } } When I submit the form it works because when I have country set to null when I have selected "-Select one-" option or the instance of the country selected. The problem is that when I load the form I have a method like the following one to load the user information. @ModelAttribute("user") public User getUser(){ //loads user from database } The object I get from getUser() has country set to a specific country (not a null value), but in the combobox is not selected any option. I've debugged the application and the CustomCountryEditor works good when setting and getting the text, thoughgetAsText method is called for every item in the list "countries" not only for the "country" field. Any idea? Is there a better way to set null the country object when I select no country option in the combobox? Thanks

    I just created my first MVC2 project using the standard template. I need to be able to change the default browser for my project to test in IE (I use chrome as the default on my OS). Unfortunately, the "right click on default.aspx" suggestion which worked in MVC1 can't work with these new projects as they don't have that file. I'm sure I'm overlooking something simple... Thanks.

  • Django model operating on a queryset

    I'm new to Django and somewhat to Python as well. I'm trying to find the idiomatic way to loop over a queryset and set a variable on each model. Basically my model depends on a value from an api, and a model method must multiply one of it's attribs by this api value to get an up-to-date correct value. At the moment I am doing it in the view and it works, but I'm not sure it's the correct way to achieve what I want. I have to replicate this looping elsewhere. Is there a way I can encapsulate the looping logic into a queryset method so it can be used in multiple places? I have this atm (I am using django-rest-framework): class FooViewSet(viewsets.ModelViewSet): model = Foo serializer_class = FooSerializer bar = # some call to an api def get_queryset(self): # Dynamically set the bar variable on each instance! foos = Foo.objects.filter(baz__pk=1).order_by('date') for item in foos: item.needs_bar = self.bar return items I would think something like so would be better: def get_queryset(self): bar = # some call to an api # Dynamically set the bar variable on each instance! return Foo.objects.filter(baz__pk=1).order_by('date').set_bar(bar) I'm thinking the api hit should be in the controller and then injected to instances of the model, but I'm not sure how you do this. I've been looking around querysets and managers but still can't figure it out nor decided if it's the best method to achieve what I want. Can anyone suggest the correct way to model this with django?   • ModelMetadata: ShowForEdit property not appearing to work.

    Iv wrote an MetaDataProvider like the one below and am using it in conjunction with Editor templates. The DisplayName is working correctly, but for some reason the ShowForEdit value it not having any effect.   • Tablesorter, Color rows depending on an specific value

    Hi all, I've been looking around for a solution to this thing but I haven't found anything similar to what I'm looking for. The thing is that I've got a table filled with data from a database, and what I want is to change the background colour of an specific row depending on a value of the class I'm loading in each row. The thing is that I have to display some data but as the fields to be displayed are quite a lot, I don't have more space to show an status field, so I would like to show the row in red if the status is inactive, and the rest of the rows in the normal color of the blue stylesheet. Is there a way to do that through tablesorter? I'm opened to suggestions, as I'm not sure how to do it. Thank you all in advance, Victor

    There is a CLOB field we are trying to insert html content and sometimes we are getting an error as: ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column When i used nhibernate profiler and copy the query to Toad, it asked me to enter values for variables called "NBSP"! Is this means that nhibernate doesnt escape special chars? if so how can i tell it to escape special chars globally?

    Hello I have a problem with Spark. I have compiled assembly with views, located in bin subfolder of website, that i created like below engine.BatchCompilation(targetFolder, Global.AllKnownDescriptors()); On start of my app, a try to load compiled views: svf.Engine.LoadBatchCompilation(Assembly.LoadFrom(Path.Combine(basePath, "SharedViews.dll"))); When debugging, i can see that this was successfull. But ViewEngine doesn't find that views. It even doesn'n look for them in CompiledViewHolder where they are located. May that problem be caused ny wrong IViewFolder? Or i should do something more to use compiled views? Thanks

    Hello all, I have turned a normal PHP class into a library so I can use it in Codeigniter as a library. I can load it and call the functions I need in that class. Here is that class to help with the question. However, there are quite a few points where I have to call functions in my class. These functions reside in the model that instantiated my class. How can I do this as currently normal calls don't work.     am having Some kendoui listviews which consists of kendoui dropdown lists and i want to get those dropdown list selected values. To do this am trying, $("#cnty1").val(); and here is my dropdownlist,i.e., list of countries coming from Database table, <input select STYLE="width:90px;height:auto" id ="cnty1" data-bind="value:cnty1" name="cnty1" data-type="string" data-text-field="cnty" data-value-field="cntyid" data-source="sourcedata1" class="k-d" data-role="dropdownlist" /> <span data-for="cnty1" class="k-invalid-msg"></span> here cnty1 is the id of the dropdown list, but am not getting the value instead am getting "id" of the slected value but not the selected value. And also if the value is not selected am getting the first value id by using $("#cnty1").val(); So, please suggest me a solution so that, 1) I should get only the Selected value and 2) Value of the dropdown list Only if the user selects a value from the list, but don't get the value of the list without selecting.
