Having understood some of the advantages that NoSQL offers (scalability, availability, etc.), I am still not clear why a website would want to use a non-relational database.
Can I get some help on this, preferably with an example?
I'm downloading JQuery asynchronously:
function addScript(url) {
var script = document.createElement('script');
script.src = url;
document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(script);
}
addScript('jquery.js');
// non-jquery code ...
// jquery specific code like: $()...
As such - how do I call my JQuery specific code once JQuery is loaded (because since I'm downloading my JavaScript asynch - it's not blocking, which is good, but is trying to execute my JQuery specific code before JQuery has been loaded).
I found a post from a while ago that addresses a similar question but I think it's a bit outdated. I realize implementations of JPA tend to be more on the heavy/dense side, so if you know of any lightweight (non-JPA) ORMs I'll most certainly appreciate your input. I did see the answer about ActiveAndroid in the other post and am curious to know if anyone tried it out.
How could can I get the caret position from within an input field.
I have seen a few bits and pieces on google but nothing bullet proof.
Basically something like a Jquery plugin would be ideal so I could simply do
$("#myinput").caretPosition()
I realise there may by other non-jQuery solutions and these would also be brilliant if anyone has any??
Is there a way to get the values of various properties of a (both .NET and non-.NET) DLL via C#?
I'd like to read the 'Product name' field in particular.
Hi, I'm looking for a profiler in order to find the bottleneck of my c++ code.
I'd like to find a free, non intrusive, good profiling tool.
I'm a game developer and I use PIX for Xbox360, I found it very good (but not free)
I know the Intel v-Tune, but it's not free.
There exists any free profiling tool?
Is there anyway to stick objects which are decorated with DataContract attributes but not decorated with Serializable attributes in to a SqlServer StateServer? In other words, I would prefer not having to decorate these objects with the Serializable attribute as I will also have to implement IXmlSerizable on all of these objects because they do not have empty contstructors, and non-public setters for properties.
Hello people,
I am given a task to convert a crappy(non-secure) hardcoded website into a good one using any good framework.
I have a good idea of PHP.
So can you help me in choosing a framework?
Also, do i need to learn about Model View Controller to use frameworks?
Hey guys
i just have two questions about two methods used in many controllers/servlets in my app:
1-what is the difference between calling a static method in a util class or a non static method (like methods dealing with dates i.e getting current time,converting between timezones), which is better ?
2-what is the difference between calling a method(contain too many logic like sending emails) in the controller directly or running this method in a different thread ?
I recently came across this magical operator when digging into Groovy: <=
Groovy has really made me happy with elvis operators ?. and ?: which I use constantly now and very much wish were in Java. With this new operator, I have only found this reference. It seems to make comparators much easier. My question is how does it handle null values and how does it compare non Comparable object. Does this operator have a name, I couldn't find it Googling.
For OpenSocial, it requries that you have a separate webserver with a non-self-signed SSL Cert. Can I run one app server for multiple websites or is it always one server per website that will actually be running opensocial?
Also, can the app server be the same server that is hosting the website?
Hello!
I need ERB (Ruby's templating system) for templating of non-HTML files.
(Instead, I want to use it for source files such as .java, .cs, ...)
How do I "execute" Ruby templates from command line?
I have the following function:
$('td:eq(' + iColumn + ') input', oSettings.oApi._fnGetTrNodes(oSettings))
.each(function () {
aData.push(this.value);
});
In typescript I am getting a message saying:
Error 3 Function declared a non-void return type, but has no return expression
Why am I getting this message? I can resolve the message by saying "return true". Should I always specify a return type for this?
I am building a website on top of nhibernate. Is there any efficient way to build reports? BY reports, I mean is there anyway to execute a complicated query that grabs random pieces of data? StoreProcedures? Hql?
Can I get single, non mapped values from hql?
I am looking for c++ code coverage tool which fares well in mutli server setup and on both windows and linux without licensing issues(if non free).
I have done some research and found 2 free tools: Covtool and gcov. Any disadvantages on these or any other suggestions?
Using HQL, how do you join on columns (or object properties) that are non PK/FK?
I'm reading the docs, and it seems it implicitly is going to join on the PK columns right?

I'm not sure where to look to find this information, but I'd like to know how to get mouse input (or any hid input) using the fewest non standard libraries in c. Basically, is there an stdio equivalent for mouse (and other input) input in c? Or is there a library that is minimal and cross compatible on multiple platforms. Just being able to print mouse coordinates to a terminal window would be enough.
Isn't
A a = new A(); // A is a class name
supposed to work in C++?
I am getting:
conversion from 'A*' to non-scalar
type 'A' requested
Whats wrong with that line of code?
Hi,
Just started my first MVC 2.0 .net application. And I set up some default pages like:
/Loa/Register
/Loa/About
But when I request for /Loa/sdfqsdf (random string) I get the "The resource cannot be found." error, how can I redirect this non-existing action to a default action?
Like an "action not found" default action?
thx!
With jQuery, how can I display a flash message at the top of the page in an easy way? Is there something built-in, or a plugin, or is it easy enough to do it yourself?
What I mean is like after a successful ajax post I would like to just say "hey, it went good" in a non-obtrusive way.
Most mainstream IDEs use code-completion in the form of a linear list of suggestions (typically methods).
Are there any IDEs (mainstream or not) or IDE plugins that use a non-linear widget, such as a tree? (e.g., pick category first, then the actual recommendation)?
I'm working on an IDE feature and want to make sure I'm not reinventing the wheel or infringing some patent.
MSDN documentation seems silent on whether RegCreateKeyEx ever updates the value of the handle referred to by its second-last parameter when it fails. My tests have only shown it not to update this - i.e., I set h = 0 before the call, pass &h to a call to RegCreateKeyEx to open a non-existent key, and see h = 0 after the call. Does anyone know of any situation in which the handle would be changed?
I am in need of date picker javascript which allows date in mm/dd/yy format.
And also it should have good resolution and should be non-popup based.
I searched in google but not getting my exact requirements.
Plz suggest me the proper source.
Thank You.
