• Multilingual support using gettext with codeigniter, best practice?

  I know how to create .po files and how to generate .mo files and then use them for translation on my Codeigniter powered site. However, I'm not quite sure on how to change language from the site GUI. I want to stick to codeigniter's default url calling schema: www.domain.com/controllername/method/param1/param2. Calling the server like this is a no-brainer: www.domain.com/controllername?lang=en Doing that for every controller using the default url schema, requires me to implement the same method in every controller, just to pass the lang parameter to the setlocale() function and then bind to my .po domain name. Feels awkward... ANy ideas how you guys work with gettext in codeigniter? And yes, I do want to work with gettext.

• Accessing Linq Values in ViewData

  I'm having trouble accessing the id, area and theme values in my ViewData. They are being set in my action filter but when I get to the Site.Master I don't have access to them. Any help or advice would be great. • How to perform bulk update using rails admin

  ![enter image description here][2] I just have to perform a Bulk update for my products using the action which i have defined. While inspecting the link, it displays the following: onclick="jQuery('#bulk_action').val('bulk_add_to_categories'); jQuery('#bulk_form').submit(); return false;" But when I click on it I get this error. I need to do something like this I need to have an separate UI for all the products that have came from that bulk action, and then put them into the selected categories, but I am not able to do that. Can anyone help me on this? Any help would be great. I have seen lot of tutorial and read the rails admin github page but I was not able to find anything helpful. Please guide me.

• Relying on nhibernate's second level cache vs pushing objects into the session

  I have some big entities which are frequently accessed in the same session. For example, in my application there is a reporting page which consist of dynamically generated chart images. For each chart image on this page, the client makes requests to corresponding controller and the controller generates images using some entities. I can either use asp.net's session dictionary for "caching" those entities or rely on nhibernate's second level cache support with using cached queries for example. What is your opinion? By the way I will use shared hosting, is nhibernate's second level cache hosting friendly? Thanks.

• What is a good way to animate UIViews inside UITableViewCell after a callback?

  We couldn't find a way to animate UIViews inside a UITableCell as an action from a callback. Suppose in a scenario where you click on a button on the UITableViewCell and it fires off an asynchronous action to download a picture. Suppose further that when the picture is downloaded we want a UIView in the cell to animate the picture to give user a visual feedback that something new is about to be presented. We couldn't find a way to track down the UIVIew to invoke beginAnimation on because the original cell that the user clicked on might now be used for another row due to the nature of cells being reused when you scroll up and down in the table. In other words we can't keep a pointer to that UITableViewCell. We need to find another way to target the cell and animate it if that row is visible and don't animate if the row is scrolled out of range.

  I'm implementing a prototype of a RESTful API using ASP.NET MVC and apart from the odd bug here and there I've achieve all the requirements I set out at the start, apart from callers being able to use the X-HTTP-Method-Override custom header to override the HTTP method. What I'd like is that the following request... GET /someresource/123 HTTP/1.1 X-HTTP-Method-Override: DELETE ...would be dispatched to my controller method that implements the DELETE functionality rather than the GET functionality for that action (assuming that there are multiple methods implementing the action, and that they are marked with different [AcceptVerbs] attributes). So, given the following two methods, I would like the above request to be dispatched to the second one: [ActionName("someresource")] [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Get)] public ActionResult GetSomeResource(int id) { /* ... */ } [ActionName("someresource")] [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Delete)] public ActionResult DeleteSomeResource(int id) { /* ... */ } Does anybody know if this is possible? • Missing taglibrary in Netbeans Hibernate tutorial xhtml file?

  I just finished the Netbeans introduction to Hibernate tutorial ( http://netbeans.org/kb/docs/web/hibernate-webapp.html#01 ) and I am getting the following error: "This page calls for XML namespace declared with prefix br but no taglibrary exists" Now, I have seen a similar question somewhere else: http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5430327 but the answer is not listed there. Or, if it is, then I am clearly missing it -- line one of my index.xhtml file reads "http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml". It also does not explain why, when I reload localhost:8080, the message disappears. • asp.net mvc2 ajax.actionlink is not working refresh problem

  has someone make ajax.actionlink for delete to work properly.After deleting the record successfully at the end it is not refreshing the page properly. the page refresh is my problem. i have defined the updatetarget id and returning view(model) from my controller but it is returning the master page with it. • populate a comboBox in Griffon App dynamically

  I have 2 comboBoxes in my View of Griffon App (or groovy swingBuilder) country = comboBox(items:country(), selectedItem: bind(target:model, 'country', value:model.country), actionPerformed: controller.getStates) state = comboBox(items:bind(source:model, sourceProperty:'states'), selectedItem: bind(target:model, 'state', value:model.state)) The getStates() in the controller, populates @Bindable List states = [] in the model based on the country selected. The above code doesn't give any errors, but the states are never populated. I changed the states from being List to a range object(dummy), it gives me an error MissingPropertyException No such property items for class java.swing.JComboBox. Am I missing something here? There are a couple of entries related to this on Nabble but nothing is clear. The above code works if I had a label instead of a second comboBox.

  I am working on a project with RL & NN I need to determine the action vector structure which will be fed to a neural network..   I added the authlogic_facebook_connect plugin to my project and I'm now having problem running my cucumber test because of a NoMethodError. undefined method `set_facebook_session' for nil:NilClass (NoMethodError) In authlogic_facebook_connect/Session.rb the method "authenticating_with_facebook_connect?" is called as some sort of callback and the controller is defined but is missing the 'set_facebook_session' method. def authenticating_with_facebook_connect? controller.set_facebook_session attempted_record.nil? && errors.empty? && controller.facebook_session end I don't understand why the cucumber test is not loading the controller with this method.   Just I started learning MVC pattern,ofcourse i am learning it from Microsoft's website.Just i want to gather quiz information from the experts. My understanding is (correct me then and there) 1 ) MVC does not support server side events ,but supports client side events.if it supports client side events,i need html page with jQuery/Javascript (view),but most of the example i absorbed is to display the information(model) in view ,i did not see any client side event handling happens in view. 2) Except ViewState and controlState,MVC supports Sessions,Application State management,Cache management. 3) When request goes to MVC engine ,the routing module routes the request that is picked up by the controller.The controller in executes the appropriate action and return the appropriate view.

• UIImages on UITableView?

  what is the best method to display about 300 png images into a UITableView.. i dont wanna display them at the same time... i have 3 tableViewControllers that will each display about 100 imgaes.. (its for a catalog so the images are important to display) i used [uiimage imageNamed:] but that method caches the images and they dont get released so the memory usage is big.... is there any way to release the cache when the nav controller pushes a different view controller? i also tried [uiimage alloc] initWithContentsOfFile] but the images wont display.... any help?

• Why does my UITableView change from UITableViewStyleGrouped to UITableViewStylePlain

  My application has a view controller that extends UITableViewController. The initialization method looks like this: - (id)initWithCoder:(NSCoder*)coder { if (self = [super initWithCoder:coder]) { self.tableView = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:self.tableView.frame style:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; } return self; } When the view is initially loaded, it's displayed as UITableViewStyleGrouped. However, if my app ever receives a low memory warning, the above view changes to UITableViewStylePlain. There is no associated xib file with the View/Controller. The viewDidUnload and didReceiveMemoryWarning methods are straightforward: - (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { // Releases the view if it doesn't have a superview. [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; // Release any cached data, images, etc that aren't in use. } - (void)viewDidUnload { // Release any retained subviews of the main view. // e.g. self.myOutlet = nil; } My question is, why does the table style change when I receive a memory warning?

  I have noticed in some of my older apps that in situations where I have added a custom View Controller I have not changed the View Controller class in the application delegate. For example, below I have created a CustomViewController class but have declared viewController as UIViewController. @interface ApplicationAppDelegate: NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate> { UIWindow *window; UIViewController *viewController; } My question is, both work, but for correctness should I be writing this as follows: @class CustomViewController; @interface ApplicationAppDelegate: NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate> { UIWindow *window; CustomViewController *viewController; } gary

• ASP.NET MCV 2, re-use of SQL-Connection string

  Hi, so I'm very very far from an expert on MVC or ASP.NET. I just want to make a few simple Controllers in C# at the moment, so I have the following question; Right now I have the connection string used by the controller, -inside- the controller itself. Which is kind of silly when there are multiple controllers using the same string. I'd like to be able to change the connection string in just one place and have it affect all controllers. Not knowing a lot about asp.net or the 'm' and 'v' part of MVC, what would be the best (and simplest) way of going about accomplishing just this? I'd appreciate any input on this, examples would be great too.

I made a maven multi module project with the following modules: /api /domain /repositories /webapp I like to share the domain and the repositories between the api and the webapp (both web projects).   Hi guys, Is there anything that we could do for implementing VIRTUAL MICE? I mean, I want to have multiple mice within the whole OS, but they must be all VIRTUAL (I'm not talking about the applications that serve multiple mice driver for PS/2 or USB mice or Microsoft's MultiPoint Mouse SDK.) It is like creating two objects: Mouse mouse1, mouse2; and using them like: mouse1.mouse_event(...); mouse2.mouse_event(...); having a CURSOR on the screen is NOT IMPORTANT. I only need the action (MOUSE DOWN, MOVE, UP for each but separated) and the important thing is that these VIRTUAL MICE should work together, at the same time, click or down-move action with different coordinates(x,y).

  Essentially, I'm working on asynchronously downloading images and adding them to specific UITableView cells (twitter profile images using MGTwitterEngine from Matt Gemmell). I've looked at general asynchronous download code and must admit, I'm still too much of a noob to understand it well enough to adapt it to my purposes. Instead, I'm attempting to use Gemmell's included getImageAtUrl method to add the images. I have it working to the point that -imageReceived: receives the images for visible cells, however, I'm stuck as to how to include them into the appropriate cells at that point. - (void)imageReceived:(UIImage *)image forRequest:(NSString *)identifier { NSLog(@"Got an image:%@",image); // What goes here? Or elsewhere? } This method is within my main view controller, I also have a custom cell controller where I'm drawing the cell content using Loren Brichter's fast scrolling code. Any help with this MGTwitterEngine method in particular, or with dynamically adding these images to my table cells would be greatly appreciated.
