  I have two table and I need to copy the data across from SRCServiceUsers to Clients Everytime i run it I get the following: Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_Clients'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.Clients'. The statement has been terminated.   I would like to serialize some Scala case classes to Json. E.g my case class looks like: case class Item ( id: Int, name: String, price: BigDecimal, created: java.util.Date) and I would like to serialize it to Json like this: {"id":3, "name": "apple", "price": 8.00, "created": 123424434} so I need a custom serilization for BigDecimal and for Date. Where I want the data in milliseconds since 1 jan 1970. When using Scala and Play Framework, I can return Json using Json(myObject), but how do I customize the serialization? Or is there any recommended Scala library?

  I am trying to create a database field merge into a document (rtf) using php i.e if I have a document that starts Dear Sir, Customer Name: [customer_name], Date of order: [order_date] After retrieving the appropriate database record I can use a simple search and replace to insert the database field into the right place. So far so good. I would however like to have a little more control over the data before it is replaced. For example I may wish to Title Case it, or convert a delimited string into a list with carriage returns. I would therefore like to be able to add extra formatting commands to the field to be replaced. e.g. Dear Sir, Customer Name: [customer_name, TC], Date of order: [order_date, Y/M/D] There may be more than one formatting command per field. Is there a way that I can now search for these strings? The format of the strings is not set in stone, so if I have to change the format then I can. Any suggestions appreciated.

  I'm trying to do a lookup on our demographioc table to display some stats. However, since out demographic table is quit big I want to do it in one query. There are 2 fields that are important: sex, last_login I want to be able to get the total number of logins for various date ranges (<1day ago, 1-7 days ago, 7-30 days ago, etc) GROUPED BY sex I right now know how to do it for one date range. For example less than 1 day ago: SELECT sex, count(*) peeps FROM player_account_demo WHERE last_demo_update>1275868800 GROUP BY sex Which returns: sex peeps UNKNOWN 22 MALE 43 FEMALE 86 However I'd have to do this once for each range. Is there a way to get all 3 ranges in there? I'd want my end result to look something like this: sex peeps<1day peeps1-7days peeps7-30days Thanks!

  I'm trying to implement a calendar with Ruby and Javascript in Rails. I'm using a calendar helper that creates a calendar with given year and month and events as parameters (<%= calendar(:year => 2012, :month => 4, :events => @events %>). I also have three buttons next, today and previous with which the user should be able to navigate the calendar with. I am also going to implement some js that makes it possible to select dates in the calendar. So what I would like to do is to insert the calendar in the DOM with javascript in order to generate a new calendar when the user clicks one of the buttons. That way I will be able to control the behavior of the buttons and add the select functionality. The problem is that I can't just insert my erb code in a javascript plus I'm not even sure it's the right way to go? Any suggestions are appreciated!

• Comparing two ISO8601 dates strings in PHP

  I need to compare (actually rank/sort) dates in a PHP script. The dates are ISO-8601 Date format i.e. YYYY-MM-DD I wrote a comparison function which splits the dates and compares by year/month/day. However, it seems this may be overkill and I could just as easily done a simple string comparison like: if ($date1 < $date2) // do something elseif( $date1 > $date2) //do something else else //do yet another thing Is my assumption about (ISO-8601) Date string comparison correct - i.e. can I get rid of my function (to save a few clock cycles on the server), or is it safer to explicity do the comparison in a custom function?

I want do draw a line graph with the dates on X and the values on Y. What is the easiest way to do this with Perl? I tried DBIx::Chart but I could not make it recognize my dates. There are several columns which are indexed; while others are not. I am concerned with time cost per batch insertion: - 1st batch insertion: N1 - 2nd batch insertion: N2 - 3rd batch insertion: N3 The question is: will N1, N2, and N3 roughly be the same, or N3 N2 N1? That is, will the time cost be a constant or incremental, with existence of several indexes? All indexes are non-clustered. • How to read a column in a tab-delimited Excel file in C#?

  I have some data of an excel file below. At first, I figured that reading from the file could be done using the Excel Library then using an OLEDB connection. I managed to get the DocumentNo column data with the OLEDB approach. However, when the excel file is closed, I am unable to do the operation because it gives an error that "External table is not in the expected format." • Would this prevent the row from being read during the transaction?

  I remember an example where reads in a transaction then writing back the data is not safe because another transaction may read/write to it in the time between. So i would like to check the date and prevent the row from being modified or read until my transaction is finish. Would this do the trick? and are there any sql variants that this will not work on? update tbl set id=id where date>expire_date and id=@id Note: dateexpire_date happens to be my condition. It could be anything. Would this prevent other transaction from reading the row until i commit or rollback?

Is there a way to join the two fields together so I call the sub-selects only once?   I have a datagridview in a windows form with 3 columns: Serial number, Name and Date-Time. The Name column will always have either of the two values: "name1" or "name2". I need to sort these columns such that the grid displays all the rows with name values in a specific order (first display all the "name1" rows and then all the "name2" rows). Within the "name1" rows, I want the rows to be sorted by the Date-Time. Please note programmatically, all the 3 columns are strings. System shoudl look for the doctors availables for that specialty on that date. From the results patient should choose one and then system save the appointment.   i have 2 textboxes that i am filling with StartDate, and Endate. i want to use the compareValidator to make sure that the StartDate is less that the EndDate. i used this: <asp:CompareValidator ID="Comp" ControlToValidate="txtStartDate" ControlToCompare="txtEndDate" Operator="LessThan" Type="Date" runat="server" Display="dynamic" Text="Failed!" /> the validator is always giving me Failed no matter what the dates are. if startdateendate or vise versa, Failed appears. i am using (MM/dd/yyyy) format in the textboxes.
