  • Dell monitors keep blank after initial start

    We have Dell T1650 PCs with 2 nVidia graphic adapters / Windows 7 and 4 attached monitors. At initial start all screens are blank, the computer does not show anything. If powered off by pressing the hardware power button and then restarting all monitors show a picture. The Windows event log shows only the errors, that the machine was shut down unexpectedly. The last entry with blank screen seems to be that user specific dlls for every application are loaded. How can I find out the real problem?

  • Problem in domain name of site in google search [on hold]

    My domain provider dont supports advanced DNS at this moment. So I have used iframe to forward to my webserver. Suppose my domain abc.com have a simple html which is opening xyz.com via Iframe. Google was showing abc.com on the search. But from last two days it is showing xyz.com, other things like description, name of the site are ok only the domain changed to xyz.com, but I want to show abc.com. When I'm typing the full domain then google showing the domain as I want. But If I type a part or any keyword then it showing that xyz.com. Anyone have any idea how to show abc.com again? EDIT: I dont know the domain name provider because its not mine. When I'm trying to set new A record its showing that "you need advanced dns to do this currently you are using simple DNS". I'm doing this from cpanel. Normally as per I know there are 3 sections. 1 domain name 2 A record 3Cname. But I dont have any domain name section.

  • How can I speed up a MySQL retore from a dump file?

    I am restoring a 30GB database from a mysqldump file to an empty database on a new server. When running the SQL from the dump file, the restore starts very quickly and then starts to get slower and slower. Individual inserts are now taking 15+ seconds. The tables are MyISAM. The server has no other active connections. SHOW PROCESSLIST; only shows the insert from the restore (and the show processlist itself). Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the dramatic slowdown? Are there any MySQL variables that I can change to speed the restore while it is progressing?

    So I've been having some trouble recently with Ubuntu and decided it was time to switch to windows. But I have no ntfs partitions on my hard disk and GParted will not let me resize my one large partition (/dev/sda1) so that I can allocate some ntfs space to install windows on. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've had this problem for quite some time now and it had just become one big headache. Thanks in advance!

  • Cant burn the iso file on disc and usb will not startup

    I am having very big problems trying to get this going for my old laptop. I tried burning the iso image with 5 different iso burning programs and none of the disks worked none started up. Then I tried to do the USB way used the program that puts it on the usb for you it starts up on my laptop fine but will not start up on my compaq presario 2178cl. If any1 can help me with this problem I would be much appreciative ty for your time.

    Essentially, lock manager stops responding (lockd/nfslock), but shows as running as a kernel process. If I bounce portmap and nfslock, it has no effect. Doesn't show up in the portmapper registered services rpcinfo -p .. doesn't show nlockmgr. it just shows portmapper and status If I manually remount the drives, it fixes the issue. I'm assuming that the service (lockd) goes stale or hangs when there is no NFS activity? It seems like issuing a mount for NFS volumes "awakens" it and things work once that happens. Please help me nail this down for point me to somewhere to get more information on what might be happening.     When I connect my laptop to a projector, it shows everything that is going-on on my computer. However, I want want to show only certain things to users ( like videos, images, etc ). It would be good if my mouse-motions could be hidden as well. So is there any software using which I can give presentations without sharing my screen with the projector ( that is, it shows what I want it to show rather than mirroring what's going on in my laptop screen ) ?I've serached Google a lot and haven't found a solution as yet. (just with the speakers, with headphones it works but I can not change the volume) The sound icon on the top right corner does show a speaker with a single non continuous line. I can not change the volume; it is frozen. There can be an extremely low output of the sound (I hear something but I am not sure...) It does not show a single output device that is avalaible, not even the "dummie". I have tried to reset pulseaudio, alsa, remove it, purging it, reinstalling it, without having success. EDIT: I have tried launching pulseaudio via the terminal. It worked :D However, I am very surprised why it does not automatically start at the start of the computer. Any ideas ? I have managed to install wubi on my laptop fine and I can get on the net with ethernet, But when I try to download and install the wifi drivers it keeps giving me what I think is a generic var/ log error and just starts to hang on install then says it will not install. Can anyone help please as I really really want to move from windows and this is not helping me..A big thanks in advance :)

  • Should I use my own public API on my site (via JS)?

    First of all, this question is far more different other 'public api questions' like this: Should a website use its own public API?, second, sorry for my English. You can find the question summarized at the bottom of this question. What I want to achieve is a big website with a public api, so who like programming (like me) and likes my website, can replicate my website's data with a much better approach (of course with some restrictions). Almost everything could be used by the public API. Because of this, I was thinking about making the whole website AJAX driven. There would be parts of the API which would be limited only to my website (domain), like login, registering. There would be only an INTERFACE on the client side, which would use the public and private API to make this interface working. The website would be ONLY CLIENT SIDE, well, I mean, the website would only use AJAX to use the api. How do I imagine this? The website would be like a mobile application, the application only sending a request to a webserver, which returns a json, the application parses it, and uses it to advance in the application. (e.g.: login) My thoughts: Pros: The whole website is built up by javascript, this means I don't need to transfer the html to the client, saving bandwidth. (I hope so) Anyone can use up the data of my website to make their own cool things. (Is this a con or pro? O_O) The public API is always in use, so I can see if there are any error. Cons: Without Javascript the website is unusable. The bad guys easily can load the server with requesting too much data (like Request Per Second 10000), but this can be countered via limiting this with some PHP code and logging. Probably much more work So the question in some words is: Should I build my website around my own api? Is it good to work only on the client side? Is this good for a big website? (e.x.: facebook, yeah facebook is a different story, but could it run with an 'architecture' like this?)

    Is there an option somewhere in CDT (Juno) where I can set customized "Release" configurations for my projects? All I want to do for now is to be able to create a new C++ project and have by default the -std=c++11 and -std=gnu11options for the compilers and -s for the linker, and maybe a few other optimization flags. It's not a big hassle to do it every time for every new program, but I was just wondering, since I've been creating a lot of small programs to get to know C++ better.

    I DONT NEED FACTS,I NEED OPINIONS FROM OTHER DEVELOPERS! Which would be more useful, spend more time on tutorials than on practical use of knowledge or spend more time making real life apps? Like I do everything 50/50 or better I spend all time practicing and putting my knowledge in real life things (php, jQuery, AngularJS)? This is a big pain, I learnt jQuery, then Angular, then php, but didn't practice and forget the code, now I watched basic and intermediate tutorials to refresh knowledge, so what do you think what is the best?
