  Hello everyone, I have a div on a page whose contents is replaced by an AJAX request when the user selects an option from a select list. When the page loads, I issue a command to disable the autocomplete feature for all of the pages text input elements: //Stop that pesky browser autocomplete $('input[type=text]').attr("autocomplete", "off"); However, when new elements appear in the div after an AJAX call, this line of code does not reference them because they were not part of the original DOM (when the page was loaded). I have tried appending the autocomplete line to the end of the post function: //AJAX Post request that changes the fields in the address div for each different country $("div#address select#country").live("change", function() { $.post("<?php print($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']); ?>", { country: $(this).val() }, function(data) { $('div#address').html(data); }, "text"); $('div#address input[type=text]').attr("autocomplete", "off"); }); But for some reason it does not work and the autocomplete pops up when text is entered into any of the address fields. As far as I am aware I cannot use .live() to select the input elements because changing an attribute is not classed as an event. So can anyone advise me how to modify the attributes of a newly created DOM element?

Any ideas? Need to flush something? Something gets autoreleased? I really can't figure it out. --Edit-- The error that I receive is GDB: Program received signal "EXC_BAD_ACCESS". --Edit-- I ended up just connecting in the init and closing in the free methods, which might not be the proper way, but that's another question altogether so it's effectively persistent instead of connecting multiple times. Still would be nice to know what was up with this for future reference.

  I have the PHP below on a file called fblike.php. On another file, I have the Facebook Like button. The Like button functions. I would like to run the code below when the Facebook Like button is clicked. I know that FB.Event.subscribe('edge.create', function(response) {} is supposed to run whenever the Like button is clicked. I know that I am probably supposed to use Javascript and maybe Ajax to cause the PHP on fblike.php to run. But after multiple tries, I can't get it to work. What is the specific Ajax code that I could include within the Facebook Event?   I have various VB6 projects I'm maintaining with some of the queries being passed to the server having "ELSE:" with the colon used in case statements. I'm wondering can someone tell me what the **ll the colon is used for? It causes errors in SQL2005 and greater, but SQL2000 works with no complaints.   I have been given the task of re-writing some libraries written in C# so that there are no allocations once startup is completed. I just got to one project that does some DB queries over an OdbcConnection every 30 seconds. I've always just used .ExecuteReader() which creates an OdbcDataReader. Is there any pattern (like the SocketAsyncEventArgs socket pattern) that lets you re-use your own OdbcDataReader? Or some other clever way to avoid allocations? I haven't bothered to learn LINQ since all the dbs at work are Oracle based and the last I checked, there was no official Linq To Oracle provider. But if there's a way to do this in Linq, I could use one of the third-party ones.
