Hi,
I have a Silverlight web app which uses ASP.net Website administration tool for user authentication. Now is there any way by which I can get the list of all registered users in Silverlight?
hello everyone,
We are doing project on online quiz tool for mobile devices using J2ME. We got the code for midlet interface, webserver and connections. But we need to implement timer in it. So anyone can give suggestions for that code and where can be it beneficial to implement it?
I don't see as many video-based dev training programs as I used to in years passed. Is this because of cost or simply that it's considered an ineffective learning tool?
My current software is based on Silverlight 3 and i am using VS 2008 and Blend 3 for development. With SL4 out in the wild, can i use my existing tool set (VS 2008 atleast) to develop SL4 code?

If you are a web developer:
Which web browser do you use as your primary development tool.
Why?
What killer feature(s) does your browser of choice give you that helps you write better web applications?
I'm writing a tool to gather customer configuration information. One of the questions I want to answer, what OS is the customer database running on.
I haven't found a generic way to find the OS with SQL and I can't create stored procedures on the customer's database.
If there is a way, it's probably vendor specific.
Suggestions? Thanks in advance.
I wonder why this is not integrated by default. I'd like to have an item in Windows Explorer's file context menu of a VS solution file to build it.
Is there a tool for this? Or do I have to create this myself?
I'm looking for a tool that reads a .sln file and parses out all the sub projects and then parses all the sub project files into a list so that I can write a build list for a release?
I just want the directory structure of the entier solution minus any excess that may exist in the solution's directory structure.
We'd like to run an scan on our site that returns a report with the following:
each image tag found and a visual representation of that image on the report
the alt tag for that image (also identify if an alt tag not found)
Is there a simple tool that does this? We're attempting to check for alt tags, and make sure the alt tags accurately describe to the image they represent. That's why the visual representation in the report is important.
How can I generate a class diagram and other related modeling diagrams from source code ?
I am open to any tool (Eclipse plug-in etc) but does Netbeans has a plugin for it too?
I want to create a simple script that tags the latest revision to the tags folder, for example: for Trunk directory head revision 114, it will create a tag of this directory to the Tags directory which goes by the name "r114".
I don't really care of what scripting language it'll use (as long as it runs on windows).
I tried creating such script using SVN CLI tool, but it failed connecting to a SSL repository.
How can I achieve that?
I recently encountered a problem in my production database due to MySQL bug. The bug is in the TimeStamp column. To avoid any inconvenience, I want to migrate the database to either Sql Server.
Is there any FREE tool to easily and reliably migrate data and table structures?
Every LINQ blog I found there seemed around 2 years old, I understand the syntax but need more direction on creating the SQL mapping and context classes.
I just need to use LINQ for 2 SQL tables I have, nothing complicated. Do folks write the SQL mapping classes by hand for such cases or is there a decent tool for this?
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Is there a tool, macro or plugin that can generate a method or function body automatically from a declaration in a header file?
I have tried Intellisense and Refactor! 3.0.5 which both only seem to work with C#.
Does anybody know a tool, preferably for the Explorer context menu, to recursively change the encoding of files in a project from / to UTF-8 and other encodings? Freeware or not too expensive would be great.
Edit: Thanks for the answers, +1 for all of them as they are all fine but I am a lazy bastard sometimes, and would really like to be able to just right click a folder and say "convert all .php files to UTF-8". :) Further suggestions are appreciated.
Hello,
I need to make a collection with a lot of movies, but I was wandering if there is something like API or other method to make that database automatically? I will be using Ruby on Rails, but if there is a useful and fast tool, I will use it.
Thank you.
I want to use the internal Hard disk of one computer to act as an external harddisk for another computer. Is there are direct way or tool available to achieve this. I know I can share the drive and access it over network but I want to use it without network, using USB.
Before going into production, our client demands actual numbers of how many users our web application can handle.
We have all kinds of features implemented including asset management (file uploads/downloads), documents import/export, various statistics, web-services etc.
Which tool (or set of tools) could do this?
Application details:
XHTML/jQuery
Coldfusion 8
SQL Server 2008
Windows Server 2008
I come to grails from rails.
I need a database migration tool similar to the rails migration.
I need to keep always updated the database (schema and data) for the webapp that i ship.
Any hint?
Is there any good tool out there that allows developers to correctly debug messages sent between windows with postMessage?
Or maybe a plugin for Firebug?
Thanks!
Hello,
I am looking for a way to import BRE generated policy with its' vocabularies into BizTalk application from a command line (in order to script it) leveraging BtsTask command line tool.
I've searched around, and couldn't find a firm answer.
Thank you.
