    Hello Experts, I have tried to install IIS in My local machine in windows 7.My purpose is to install the IIS & change its Seesion timeout property bcoz I want to increase the Session time out Period.so I went to Control Panel-All Control Panel Items-Programs and Features then clicked Windows features on & off. after that clicked on Internet Information Service then Web Management Tool then IIS Management Console then pressed ok. It installed but when i went to see in Inetpub\wwwroot I got nothing.when i went to see "http:\localhost\" result shown blank page. i tried to search in Google but still i Don't get the answer.so plz help me shortout this problem.     i saw a trick in a book: in a linux shell, we can use &? to get the return value of a command. For example,we run a command,if it exit normally, the return value is 0. And then we type $?,we will get 0 in the screen. i want to google this kind of usage, so i have to type these two symbol $? in the search blank.But the search engine just return nothing to me... i have looked at the google help page, but still can't find a solution. so my question is: how can i search with this kind of keyword. or if you can give me some advise of the usage of $? or sort of thing, that will be also appreciated.

So i would loop through the folder and do a grep Compression like this and note i have installed grep for windows for %f in (*.jpg) do identify -verbose "%f" | grep Compression >> info.txt However i need to write the file name and compression technique used so i modified the above command for %f in (*.jpg) do identify -verbose "%f" | grep Compression & echo "%f" & echo: >> info.txt But the problem is that i get a blank txt file. Could someone pleas help me.

    Hi, During my file upload process, I found illegal character getting saved in Table. zurück.pdf, C _Word.doc were the file names. Here ü, space between C and _Word was found as ? in the Table Column. I have validate the filename in client side by replacing non-alpha numeric values by _ (underscore), but still it escapes and persist into DB. How can these handled in Client side?

  • Squid closing the connection on long HTTP GET requests

    When running a database query on a specific external site we use, Squid seems to cut off the connection after a consistent period of time (just over a minute). The query is submitted through a standard web form is that uses GET to query their database. Firefox 3 just displays a blank page. Internet Explorer throws a 'Page Cannot Be Displayed' error (tested in v6 and v8). When we perform the same query on the same machine, but bypass the Squid proxy, it works fine. The query takes about two and a half minutes to complete. There are a few timeout settings in Squid, but I honestly don't know what one to be looking at. Any possible solutions would be much appreciated. Cheers

  • Better alternative to autonumber primary keys

    I am looking for a better primary key than the autonumber data type, namely for the reason that it's limited to a long integer, when I really just need the field to reflect a number or text string that will never ever repeat, no matter HOW many records are added or deleted from the table. The problem is I am not sure how to implement something like turning the current date and time into a hexadecimal string and using that as a unique field I can use as a primary key. Am I just being too paranoid about running out of space?

  • Forcing exact hostname match in IIS

    I am looking how to force an exact hostname match within IIS when using https. For instance, I want "https://works.mysite.com/resource" to be ok, but "https://noworks.mysite.com/resource" to return 404 (assuming they both resolve to the same IP). IIUC, the default behavior of IIS when going to "https://noworks.mysite.com/resource" is to get a cert warning, if the user presses continue, the user is able to access the URL. I was able to do this by generating a *.mysite.com SSL cert, and then specify the hostname within the bindings in IIS, but without the * in the beginning, the hostname field is disabled and blank. Am I missing something simple here?

  • HP Photosmart C5280 black ink not printing properly

    I just got a used HP Photosmart C5280 from my father in law. There is a problem with the black ink, though. Sometimes, it doesn't print and when it does, it's not really black. An example can be seen at the following link, where I created three black boxes on a Word page and printed. The outcome is somewhat blueish: Other tests with black text only come out as blank pages. I have tried using the print head cleaning utility from the menu of the printer as well as doing the cleaning myself with alcohol. Nothing has worked. Any ideas before I throw out the black cartridge?

  • Mac OSX DHCP Stopped Working [on hold]

    Tethering a Raspberry PI to a MacBook (Mavericks) via ethernet is proving to be a real pain. This worked for about a day. My MacBook required a rare reboot and once it came back up the Pi won't get an address. I've confirmed it's not a problem with the Pi. It's a problem with the MacBook for sure. It's basically just stopped giving out IPs. I've read as much as I've found about how to fix this friggin' problem, but I've thus far come up blank. Internet sharing Wi-fi Ethernet enabled, and/or Edited /etc/bootpd.plist as described here (http://www.jacquesf.com/2011/04/mac-os-x-dhcp-server/ - this worked initially and now no longer does) Pi connected directly to the router has no problems. My MacBook DHCP server will no longer give out addresses. Any help would be much appreciated.

You just type a tag and press return or space and it's will be inside a nice box, and you can delete it by only pressing the backspace key or the close icon.     In C# you have nice alignment attributes such as this: [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Explicit)] public struct Message { [FieldOffset(0)] public int a; [FieldOffset(4)] public short b; [FieldOffset(6)] public int c; [FieldOffset(22)] //Leave some empty space just for the heck of it. public DateTime dt; } Which gives you fine control on how you need your structure to be layed out in memory. Is there such a thing in standard C++?

  • Internal Outlook clients prompted for OWA login when only accessing local internal Exchange server?

    Hope someone can help with this one. Scenario is an internal Exchange 2003 server. OWA front end server in the DMZ. OWA logins work fine, with SSL configured. Over the last week (3 times so far) when an internal person opens their Outlook and then tries to open an email with JPG attachments they are prompted for the webmail login. Why? Even if they enter their valid webmail OWA login it fails and reprompts once for each attachment. Once they get through the multiple login prompts, they can double-click to open the attachments, but they are all blank. Any ideas on what could cause this? Why would someone accessing an email from an internal Outlook client get prompted for details of the OWA/webmail server login?

    Dear all. I was wondering if there are examples of situations where you would purposefully pass an argument by value (deep copy) in C. For instance, passing a char to a function is usually cheaper in space than passing a char* (if there's no need to share the value), since char is 1 byte and pointers are, well, whatever they are in the architecture (4 in my 32 bit machine). ?(When) do you want to pass (big) deep copies to functions? if so, why?
