  • [C#] Closing a MenuStrip programatically

    I have a MenuStrip that I have added to a form, and in one of the dropdown menus in it, I have a text box. When I hit enter on the textbox, I want a function to run, then the drop down menu to close. I know how to get the enter part done, but I have no idea how to close the MenuStrip dropdown menu. Does anybody know how to do this?

Or, what about this situation: Dim bm As New Bitmap(32,32) bm = New Bitmap(32,32) bm = New Bitmap(32,32) bm = New Bitmap(32,32) Does bm need only to be disposed at the end, or should it be disposed before each re-creation?

  • copy an element as HTML to clipboard

    I've managed to write some jQuery to find an element and copy it's html to the clipboard (ie only). The problem is that when I paste this into a rich text box area in sharepoint it pastes the HTML as text only. How do i replicate the user action of highlighting a link on a page and pressing copy. When I do this manually and then paste the clipboard contents the rich text area realises that it is markup and replicates the link as an anchor in the text content.

I am looking for options to stream/load the xml document in chunks so that I do not get out of memory errors -- at the same time, performance is important too.     Hi everyone, I’ve two div boxes that I’m using as a expand-collapse with some javascript but the problem is that they currently are align underneath each other. I would like to have them next to each other instead but I’ve run into a wall.   • User created Validator wont call Client side validation Javascript on 'complex' user control.

    Hi All, I have created a user control (from System.Web.UI.UserControl), and created my own validator for the user control (from System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseValidator). Everything works ok until I try to get the user control to do client side validation. While trying to debug this issue I have set 'Control to Validate' to a text box instead of the custom user control, and the client side script works fine! It appears to me that it has an a issue with my composite user control I have created. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Has anyone else seen client side validation fail on custom user controls? Some extra info : The composite control is a drop down list and 'loader image', as it is a ajax enabled drop down list (using ICallbackEventHandler).   • What is the best way, if possible, to send information from a Java PrintStream to a JTextPane?

    In Java, I have a package that translates XML metadata from one standard to another. This package is ultimately accessed through a single function and sends all of its output through a PrintStream object. The output sent is just a status of each file and whether or not it was translated. This is pretty fine and dandy if I'm just printing to System.out, but I'm actually wanting to print this to a JTextPane while it translates (kind of like a progress text box). It wouldn't be a big deal to just print the status after it was done translating the XML, but since there may be thousands of XML files, that's just not feasible. One thing that I've tried is to use a thread that takes all of the information from the PrintStream (which is attached to a ByteArrayOutputStream) and let it send any new information to the text pane. Unfortunately, this still sends the information all at once at the end of the translation. This does work correctly for System.out.     When we say dictionary attack, we don't really mean a real dictionary, do we? My guess is we mean a hacker's dictionary i.e. rainbow tables, right? My point is we're not talking about someone keying different passwords into the login box, we're talking about someone who has full access to your database (which has hashed passwords, not plain passwords) and this person is reversing the hashes, right?
