PS. can't use command-line tools like mysqldump, must be on-the-fly.

• Cannot get Request.Form by name in ASP.NET

  I have an ASP.NET page which utilizes jQuery for an autocomplete-type scenario. The jQuery tucks the actual selected values into a hidden field it creates on the fly, but for some reason I cannot get the value of that standard HTML field on postback by calling Request.Form["HiddenFieldName"]. I can see it by ordinal in the Request.Form object, but if I add/remove controls it will break. Any suggestions?

  I have created some JavaScript files and they run well from my Mac OS X Server. Now I have put the same JavaScript files on my MS Server 2003. But they don't work. Do I have to install something on the server in order to get them work? EDIT: (Sorry, I'm new and English is not my native language, so its hard for me to describe the situation well) I have downloaded this free Ajax Chat app. After enabling PHP on my Mac, it worked. But on my MS Windows 2003 Server it doesn't work. I installed PHP and Apache on Windows. PHP and Apache work well. But everything that uses JavaScript (such as drop down menus or pop-up windows) doesn't work. Thanks!

After reading the docs it seems that you can change the format of the master on the fly. Will the slave automatically adapt to whatever type of binary log it is sent? Do I have to make any changes to the slave or master to get ready for switching or can I simply modify the binlog_format variable on the master?

  Hello, I am running into an "out of memory" error from OpenGL on glReadPixels() under low-memory conditions. I am writing a plug-in to a program that has a robust heap mechanism for such situations, but I have no idea whether or how OpenGL could be made to use it for application memory management. The notion that this is even possible came to my attention through this [albeit dated] thread on a similar issue under Mac OS X: http://lists.apple.com/archives/Mac-opengl/2001/Sep/msg00042.html I am using Windows XP, and have seen it on multiple NVidia cards. I am using a prototyping tool (Axure) on Mac and I want to add some html meta tags to the generated pages. These pages can be overwritten every time I generate the prototype.   While the NSCurrentLocaleDidChangeNotification perfectly makes sense on Mac OS X, I don't see how you can possibly receive it on iPhone OS. In order to change the locale, you have to quit the running application, then change it in Settings ? General ? International ? Region Format. At that point, your app is not running, so how could it receive the notification? I first thought this notification was leftover from the Mac OS X documentation, but then I found this in Apple Push Notification Service Programming Guide: The application might send its provider the preferred language every time the user changes something in the current locale. To do this, you can listen for the notification named NSCurrentLocaleDidChangeNotification and, in your notification-handling method, get the code identifying the preferred language and send that to your provider. So, how do you trigger this notification on iPhone OS?

  I recently obtained a Mac so I could test our sites on Safari and Firefox for Mac OS. Now that Safari 5 is out, I'm not sure what I should do about upgrading. I presume what works on Safari 5 works on Safari 4, but I can't be sure, and vice versa. So, I don't know if I should upgrade and test on Safari 5 or keep on with Safari 4. Are there any major differences between these two version in terms of CSS (2.1) handling or JavaScript? When do you think the majority of people will have Safari 5 instead of 4? All thoughts appreciated.

  SPL and PHP allows you to create objects on the fly from classes, that fulfill certain conditions, such as implementing certain interfaces and stuff like that. However, I would like to do something similar in c# and automatically create objects from all classes in a namespace and invoke a particular method from those classes that implement a certain interface. My experience developing desktop apps is very limited. I am not quite sure if I should use delegates to archive this or if reflection is really the way to go.

  Greetings, for one of my applications I'm trying to implement an "Edit" menu. This menu usually has the standard-entries Undo, Cut, Copy and Paste. This menu is not there by default, and users seem to expect it especially on Mac OS X. Is there a an easier way of implementing this, without doing so in every widget manually? Since most widgets have the copy/paste/undo mechanism already implemented via shortcuts, I'd like to provide a few simple menu actions that call them as well. The actions should call whatever widget has the focus first, then they should pass the events upwards the object chain, I guess. I'm using Qt 4.6 on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. Thanks!

• C++ IDE for OSX

  When i was at university i wrote a lot of C++. I primarily used either Visual Studio (at the time it was version 6) or VIM (if i was on linux) as an editor to write my code. Since i have graduate and have been working primarily in web programming i have stopped writing C++. Since i graduated i have also bought myself and started using my Mac exclusively. I am now starting to get back to my C++ coding (just for fun) and would like an opinion on good IDE's for Mac. I am currently using xCode which seems kinda cool because it has everything built into it. Do any of you have any other IDE's that you would suggest that i give a shot or should i just stick to xCode?

  I'm currently trying to upload an image from my Mac application to Facebook. To do this, I'd like for the user to simply input his username and password, and to click a button. The only issue is, Facebook doesn't actually have an API for the Mac, it only has one for iOS. This shouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that to login, you must use a web view, something I'm not to keen on doing, since I'd like the interface to be two simple text fields. I've also looked into PHFacebook, a class I found online, but it also seems to utilize an NSWebView. I'm wondering if there's a security issue when you use text fields; indeed, it's slightly strange no available API offers this function ! So, to conclude, is it possible, or is there an API, that lets you upload an image and lets you provide the user's credentials through simple NSStrings?
