  • Problem with sfDoctrineGuardPlugin in symfony: Not working on linux

    I have a symfony project with symfony V1.4.2 and doctrine 1.2.2. I have installed sfDoctrineGuardPlugin-4.0.1 and used to authenticate user from external method. Everything going fine, the authentication is perfect on windows machine but whenever I take this to linux machine, the login does not work. It keeps sayting "Invalid username or password". Can anyone help me, what is going wrong. If I have problem in system, then it should not work in windows either but its working perfectly in windows but not in linux. Thanks in advance

  • Getting the 'external' IP address in Java

    Hi I'm not too sure how to go about getting the external IP address of the machine as a computer outside of a network would see it. My following IPAddress class only gets the local IP address of the machine. Any help would be appreciated.   • How do I get IE to open a file with its associated application?

    MSTest produces an XML file with a .trx extension containing test results. If I have a .trx file on a machine without Visual Studio installed, I get prompted to "Use the Web Service..." or "Select from a list...", which is expected. If I have a .trx file on my development machine and I open it, it opens in Visual Studio, which is expected. If I click a link on a web page or in an email which gets a .trx file from my build server, it ALWAYS opens the XML in IE. How do I configure IE (or IIS on the build server) to open the remote .trx file in Visual Studio, if it's installed, or prompt if it's not? UPDATE: If I rename the .trx file on the server and give it various extensions (eg. .bmp, .msi, .txt, .zip), it still opens as XML in IE, so it's clearly going by the content of the file and not the declared MIME type.

  • SQLServer using too much memory

    I have installed on my desktop machine (with windows 7) SQLServer 2008 R2 Express. I have only one local server running (./SQLEXPRESS) but the sqlserver process is taking ALL the RAM possible. With an machine with 3GB of RAM the things starts to get slow, so I limited the maximun amount of RAM in the server, and now, constantly the SQLServer give some error messages that the memory is not enought. It's using 1GB of RAM with only one LOCAL server with 2 databases completely empty, how 1GB of RAM isn't enought ? When the process start it's using an really acceptable amount of memory (around 80MB) but it's keep increasing until it reaches the maximun defined and start to complain about having not enought memory available. In that point I have to restart the server to use it again. I have read about an hotfix to solve one of the errors I got from sqlserver: There is insufficient system memory in resource pool 'internal' to run this query But it's already installed on my sqlserver. Why it's using so much memory?

  • Efficient multiple services exposed over c# .NET remoting using more channels or end points?

    I am using remoting over TCP for a prototype distributed server application where I want to have varying multiple services exposed from each remoting server process. In some cases I want the services running from the same process but I don't want whatever is using the service to care about that. I am wondering is it more efficient to have multiple services in the same process going over the same remoting channel distinguished by endpoint URI/URL or should I be creating new channels on different ports for each service in the same process? Using up ports isn't so much of a problem as the number of services will be low and the network and machine configuration is completely controlled. Also its not clear to me if remoting sends the URI string for every single message or just at connection time, and whether if the remoting framework is intelligent enough to reduce work if calls are made on the same machine and even the same process?   • Control SQL Server CLR Reserved Memory

    I've recently enabled CLR on my 64 bit SQL Server 2005 machine for usage of about 3 procs. When I run the following query to gather some info on memory usage... select single_pages_kb+ multi_pages_kb + virtual_memory_committed_kb as TotalMemoryUsage, virtual_memory_reserved_kb from sys.dm_os_memory_clerks where type = 'MEMORYCLERK_SQLCLR' I get 129 mb MemoryUsage and 6.3 gb Virtual Memory Reserved The total memory of the machine is 21 gig. What does reserved virtual memory mean exactly and how can I control the size that is allocated? 6 gig is overkill for what we're doing and the memory would be much better utilized by the sproc cache. I'm concerned this reserved memory will cause swapping to the page file. Please help me take back control of the memory! Thanks

  • ClickOnce deployment with VS2008 - prerequisites not installing on Windows 7 (only)

    I have a VS2008 clickonce application with a custom prerequiste, which I install with the bootstrapper. When deployed online, the prerequisite is downloaded and installed fine. No problems. When deployed via CD to a Windows XP machine, also fine as above. No problems. However, when deployed via CD to a Windows 7 machine: the prerequisite is downloaded - good then the user is asked for permission to the run the file - good then the installation of the prerequiste is just SKIPPED - bad and the ClickOnce application installation begins without the prerequisite - bad Has anyone encountered this weird behaviour? I cannot find a solution anywhere.

  • Can EPD Python and MacPorts Python coexist on OS X (matplotlib)?

    I've been using MacPorts Python 2.6 on OS X 10.6. I am considering also installing the Enthought Python Distribution (EPD) on the same machine because it comes preconfigured with matplotlib and other nice data analysis and visualization packages. Can the two Python distributions co-exist peacefully on the same machine? What potential problems will I have to look out for (e.g., environment variables)? I know that building matplotlib through MacPorts is an option, but the process is lengthy (on the order of a full day) and there are open questions about compiling some dependencies on 64bit Intel. I would like to know about the tradeoffs before committing to one of the two approaches.

    Hi, Our product is using MS SQL Compact Edition on a Windows machine (laptop). It's basically a metadata index for files we have on the filesystem. Recently we have seen databases getting corrupted. This happens when the machine is very busy moving files around and has to do a tiny bit of database changes at the same time. I was somewhat shocked that was at all possible. It was my expectation that the database would stay coherent whatever the circumstances. Of course we are doing something wrong. Things we have checked so far are: Use of only one db connection per thread specify the maximum size when opening the database The database is accessed only by one application, a .net based windows service. Are there other gotcha's?

  • ZF-Autoloader not working in UnitTests on Ubuntu

    i got a problem regarding Unit-testing a Zend-Framework application under Ubuntu 12.04. The project-structure is a default zend application whereas the models are defined as the following ./application ./models ./DbTable ./ProjectStatus.php (Application_Model_DbTable_ProjectStatus) ./Mappers ./ProjectStatus.php (Application_Model_Mapper_ProjectStatus) ./ProjectStatus.php (Application_Model_ProjectStatus) The Problem here is with the Zend-specific autoloading. The naming convention here appears that the folder Mappers loads all classes with _Mapper but not _Mappers. This is some internal Zend behavior which is fine so far. On my windows machine the phpunit runs without any Problems, trying to initiate all those classes. On my Ubuntu machine however with jenkins running on it, phpunit fails to find the appropriate classes giving me the following error Fatal error: Class 'Application_Model_Mapper_ProjectStatus' not found in /var/lib/jenkins/jobs/PAM/workspace/tests/application/models/Mapper/ProjectStatusTest.php on line 39 The error appears to really be that the Zend-Autoloader doesn't load from the ubuntu machine, but i can't figure out how or why this works. The question remains of why this is. I think i've double checked every point of contact with the zend autoloading stuff, but i just can't figure this out. I'll paste the - from my point of view relevant snippets - and hope someone of you has any insight to this.   • java increase xmx dynamically at runtime

    Hi, I have a jvm server in my machine, now I want to have 2 apservers of mine sitting in same machine, however I want the standby one to have a really low amount of memory allocated with xmx because its passive, one the main server (active) goes down I want to allocate more memory to my passive server which is already up without restarting it (I have have them both having too much xmx - note they would consume memory at startup and I cant allow possibility of outOfMemory). So I want passive - low xmx once active goes down I want my passive to receive much more xmx. is there a way for me to achieve that. Thanks

  • Can I join between two MySQL tables stores on separate machines?

I'm keen to avoid setting up replication just to facilitate this light query that only needs executed once a day. Is there any way that I can join with a table on a remote machine using one query?     I am trying to manage an IIS7 installation remotely using the Microsoft.Web.Administration library. My research into the error lead me to believe that I do not have the proper credentials against the remote machine and so I would like to impersonate a user that does. I was hard pressed to find a way to do this with IronPython. Any help is much appreciated.

    I need to write a perl script to scrape a website. The website can only be scraped with JavaScript, and the user is on Windows. I got some way with Win32::IE::Mechanize on my work machine, which has IE6, but then I moved to my netbook which has IE8, and can't even get as far as fetching a simple page. Is Win32::IE::Mechanize up to date with the latest versions of IE? But, tl,dr -- more to the point, given a recent WinXP machine, what's the quickest, easiest way to scrape a site which only reveals its content via JavaScript?

  • POST Ajax call results in not found using jqGrid and ASP.NET MVC 2 on IIS6

    This is puzzling me. I deployed an MVC 2 application to IIS6 and everything works fine except for my jqGrid calls to get data. All is well on my development machine, but here are the two URLs I'm working with Local dev web server: POST http://localhost:port/Ctrl.mvc/JsonMethod IIS6 (notice https - not sure if that matters) POST https://www.domain.com/AppName/Ctrl.mvc/JsonMethod The latter URL results in a HTTP 404, which is really confusing as all works well on my local machine. The JsonMethod is properly declared with [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] Let me know if any more info is needed - I appreciate any and all help with this!

  • wpf app invisible remotely (via radmin)

    hi gang, I've built a little WPF utility that watches a serialport and visualises monitoring information with WPF. It works fine, but a colleague just tried using it from another machine via radmin and my app is completely invisible! if you're at the machine you see it, if you view it via radmin you see the same screen but no app. Instead you see the app behind it (in this case windows explorer), but can't click on anything in the space where my app is. Has anyone else come across this before??

  • How to Implement Dynamic Timestamp in Web Page?

    In Facebook and twitter, we can see that there is a timestamp like "23 seconds ago" or "1 hour ago" for each event & tweet. If we leave the page for some time, the timestamp changes accordingly. Since it is possible that user machine doesn't have same system time as server machine, how to make the dynamic timestamp accurate? My idea is: It is always based on server time. When request is sent to server for the web page, timestamp T1 (seconds to 1970/1/1) is rendered into inline javascript variable. The displayed timestamp ("23 seconds ago") is calculated by T1 instead of local time. I'm not sure whether this is how Facebook/Twitter do it. Is there any better idea?

  • When we run an aspx page with client side scripting on IIS, we get an ActiveX control error?

    we have implemented the code for installing the messenger theme pack using the client side scripting in a web page. We are creating an object of the messenger using the classid .Using this object we call the installcontent() method and try to install the messenger theme pack hosted at following path: http://www.messengerexpressions.com/assets/worldCup/cabs/en-gb.cab Our code initially checks whether the messenger is installed on the user machine or not. Then it checks for the user login ,once the messenger is installed on the machine. And if the user is signed-in , the messenger theme pack is installed. The code currently when hosted on IIS checks the “Sign-In of the user” but when it tries to install the theme pack an error is thrown “An ActiveX control on this page is unsafe.Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe control on this page.As a result,this page may not be display as intended.” Please let us know if any setting is required on IIS for running this piece of codeor anything that we are missing out.
