  • Generate sample XML from composite hierarchical structure

    - by Jevgenij Nekrasov
Let's say I have composite hierarchical structure. Each object in the structure has child collection of the same objects. Each object has XPath property, which stores the exact xpath to the element inside XML file. Right now I am trying to create an extension, which can generate XML string from that hierarchical structure, but first I want to make some sort of research what is the most efficient way to do that? ant what is the easiest way?

  • upload form only works in Firefox when uploading ASCII .stl 3D files

    - by NathanPDX
    uploadform.html and upload_file.php (below) works fine in Firefox but fails in Chrome, IE, and Safari when uploading ASCII .stl 3D files. Error message is "Invalid file" and problem occurs with multiple computers and multiple .stl files. When I modify the code to support other file types like JPG and PDF it allows those file types in all three web browsers. Also, Firefox only allows the .stl upload if I include application/octet-stream in the mime types section. Why doesn't this work outside of Firefox? uploadform.html: <!doctype html> <html> <body> <form action="upload_file.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <label for="file">Filename:</label> <input type="file" name="file" id="file" /> <br /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> </body> </html> upload_file.php: <!doctype html> <html> <body> <?php $allowedExts = array("stl"); $extension = end(explode(".", $_FILES["file"]["name"])); if ( ( ($_FILES["file"]["type"] == "application/sla") || ($_FILES["file"]["type"] == "application/octet-stream") || ($_FILES["file"]["type"] == "text/plain") || ($_FILES["file"]["type"] == "application/unknown") ) && ($_FILES["file"]["size"] < 2000000) && in_array($extension, $allowedExts) ) { if ($_FILES["file"]["error"] > 0) { echo "Return Code: " . $_FILES["file"]["error"] . "<br />"; } else { echo "Upload: " . $_FILES["file"]["name"] . "<br />"; echo "Size: " . ($_FILES["file"]["size"] /1024) . " KB<br />"; if (file_exists("upload/" . $_FILES["file"]["name"])) { echo $_FILES["file"]["name"] . " already exists. "; } else { move_uploaded_file($_FILES["file"]["tmp_name"], "upload/" . $_FILES["file"]["name"]); echo "successful upload"; } } } else { echo "Invalid file"; } ?> </body> </html>

  • Is it possible to restart the phone with Android SDK or NDK?

    - by J Andy
Is it possible to programmatically restart the phone from a application (service) running on top of the Dalvik VM? If the SDK does not provide this functionality, then how about using the NDK and calling some functions provided by the kernel? I know this option is not preferred (not stable enough libs), but if it's the only option, I'll have to consider that as well.

  • Windows MAchine Debugging

    - by PrettyFlower
I've been learning how to program for Windows for some time now and am getting pretty comfy with COM. I had thought to go over to Linux and do some C++ programming there and I wished to run Rosetta Commons so I installed Fedora. I had tried installing Ubuntu a few months ago and things got messy. I had a glitch, maybe caused by one of the live cd creators, my video card or something I don't know. Who Crashed suggested it was my video card and I had regular messages about ntfs.sys and page file issues. At any rate I just installed Fedora and the same thing is happening again. I would like to think with the twenty five years of doing this that I might finally make some headway into debugging my system. I think I may have overlooked a lot of what could be done in favor of simply uninstalling, reinstalling and formatting and starting from scratch. I have opened up the folder windows debugging tools, quite accidentally and just before I was going to clean sweep again, and I found KD and WinDbg. I had never seen these before and I felt that maybe I should look into this. I am quite familiar with the modern machine that is known as the computer, I know what a Kernel is and am now pretty familiar with at the very least Windows Operating System Services. I wish to begin tracking my own machines errors. I understand that most kernel debugging is done on a second machine but I don't have one. And also I understand the goal of the debugger seems to be less about run of the mill errors and more about development time strategies but I'm sure there is more to this. This is my first go at this and I thought maybe I could get some suggestions on where to go from here. I would really like to learn ways to fix my machine and also maybe pick up some tricks on the dev side as well. I hope this isn't too broad a question or too generalized. I'm really just looking for the keywords and an overview of the more routine strategies used. thx

  • js function to get filename from url

    - by Blankman
Hi, I have a url like http://www.example.com/blah/th.html I need a javascript function to give me the 'th' value from that. All my urls have the same format (2 letter filenames, with .html extension). I want it to be a safe function, so if someone passes in an empty url it doesn't break. I know how to check for length, but I should be checking for null to right?

  • Subversion with Apache and permissions issues

    - by djechelon
Hello, I have setup an SVN repository for use with Apache 2 via svnadmin create command and appropriate vhost configuration. I found that, in order to correctly use the repository, this must be owned by wwwrun user (or www group) or chmodded to 777. I would like to ask if it's possible to explicitly tell Apache to impersonate another user when serving requests to a certain path (from vhost.conf), like with suphp extension, so I won't mess with permissions once I create a repository. Thank you in advance

  • Preventing threads from writing to the same file

    - by EpsilonVector
I'm implementing an FTP-like protocol in Linux kernel 2.4 (homework), and I was under the impression that if a file is open for writing any subsequent attempt to open it by another thread should fail, until I actually tried it and discovered it goes through. How do I prevent this from happening? PS: I'm using open() to open the file.

  • how to populate the tables within xmlDataDocument.DataSet

    - by alex
Hi all: I am working on a C# application that involves using XML schema file as databases for message definitions and XML file as databases for message data. I was following the example I found:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.xml.xmldatadocument.dataset%28v=VS.100%29.aspx I wrote my own xsd and XML file. I used the same approach in the example, read the xsd file and then load the xml file. But I don't have any "Rows" created for my DataTable. I used debugger to step through my codes. When I am get my DataTable use xmlDataDocument.DataSet.Tables["name of the table"], the Rows property of that tables is 0. Does anybody know what might cause the DataSet tables not get populated after I loaded the xmlDataDocument with XML file? Here is a fragment of XSD file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xs:schema id="test" targetNamespace="http://tempuri.org/test.xsd" elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns="http://tempuri.org/test.xsd" xmlns:mstns="http://tempuri.org/test.xsd" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" > <xs:element name="reboot_msg"> <xs:complexType> <xs:complexContent> <xs:extension base="header_s"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="que_name"> <xs:simpleType> <xs:restriction base="xs:string"> <xs:minLength value="4"/> <xs:maxLength value="8"/> </xs:restriction> </xs:simpleType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="priority" type="xs:unsignedShort"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:extension> </xs:complexContent> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> and here is a fragment of the XML file: <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?> <test xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" > <reboot_msg> <message_length>16</message_length> <message_type>7</message_type> <message_sequence>0</message_sequence> <que_name>NONE</que_name> <priority>5</priority> </reboot_msg> It could be the XML and XSD file I created missed something. Please help. Thanks

  • Graph of included files

    - by Dacav
When I work on someone else's code, I tipically need to abuse of grep in order to find data types declarations etc, and this usually makes me confused. I'd like to have some tool which analyzes the source code and produces some graphviz-like drawing and allows me to follow dependencies. Also I've found this on the internet, but I think is taylored for the linux kernel only.

  • Do you know of some performances test of the different ways to get thread local storage in C++?

    - by Vicente Botet Escriba
I'm doing a library that makes extensive use of a thread local variable. Can you point to some benchmarks that test the performances of the different ways to get thread local variables in C++: C++0x thread_local variables compiler extension (Gcc __thread, ...) boost::threads_specific_ptr pthread Windows ... Does C++0x thread_local performs much better on the compilers providing it?

  • Memcached for PHP 5.3

    - by Industrial
Hi everyone, I have looked everywhere for some clues on how to run the Memcached extension in my WAMP windows development environment (thats right, the memcached with an D in the end, not memcache). I already use memcache (without the D), but it would be handy to take part of memcached's more extended multiple-server features. How can I get this up and running? Thanks

  • How can I connect PHP 5.1 to Oracle 7?

    - by Travis Beale
I have been able to query newer Oracle databases using the PHP oci8 extension with the Oracle 10.2 Instant Client. Unfortunately, the Oracle Instant Client seems to be unable to connect to an Oracle 7 database (version 7.3.3 to be precise). Is there a way to query an older Oracle database from PHP?

  • memcache, wamp, php 5.4, win8

    - by user1406269
I am using wamp, PHP 5.4 running on win 8, I can't seem to get PHP to acknowledge the memcache dll. I download php_memcache-3.0.8-5.4-ts-vc9-x86.zip (the only one I could find). I copied the dll to C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.4.12\ext I added extension=php_memcache.dll restart the server. but still I cannot use memcache, and it is missing from Loaded Extensions list. Please supply a step-by-step instruction on how to set this up, Thanks.

  • Mercurial API and Extensions resources

    - by Sly
I want to write extensions for Mercurial. What are good resources such as tutorials, guides, API reference or maybe even a existing extension that is well commented and easy to lean from the source. So far, I have only found the short MercurialApi and WritingExtensions wiki pages.
