  • how to monitor the program code execution? (file creation and modification by code lines etc)

    My program is about triggering XSL transformation, Its fact that this code for carrying out the transformation, creates some dll and tmp files and deletes them pretty soon after the transformation is completed. It is almost untraceable for me to monitor the creation and deletion of files manually, so I want to include some chunk of codelines to display "which codeline has created/modified which tmp and dll files" in console window.   • Strategies for avoiding SQL in your Controllers... or how many methods should I have in my Models?

    So a situation I run into reasonably often is one where my models start to either: Grow into monsters with tons and tons of methods OR Allow you to pass pieces of SQL to them, so that they are flexible enough to not require a million different methods For example, say we have a "widget" model. We start with some basic methods: get($id) insert($record) update($id, $record) delete($id) getList() // get a list of Widgets That's all fine and dandy, but then we need some reporting: listCreatedBetween($start_date, $end_date) listPurchasedBetween($start_date, $end_date) listOfPending() And then the reporting starts to get complex: listPendingCreatedBetween($start_date, $end_date) listForCustomer($customer_id) listPendingCreatedBetweenForCustomer($customer_id, $start_date, $end_date) You can see where this is growing... eventually we have so many specific query requirements that I either need to implement tons and tons of methods, or some sort of "query" object that I can pass to a single -query(query $query) method... ... or just bite the bullet, and start doing something like this: list = MyModel-query(" start_date X AND end_date < Y AND pending = 1 AND customer_id = Z ") There's a certain appeal to just having one method like that instead of 50 million other more specific methods... but it feels "wrong" sometimes to stuff a pile of what's basically SQL into the controller. Is there a "right" way to handle situations like this? Does it seem acceptable to be stuffing queries like that into a generic -query() method? Are there better strategies?

I move around Sub DIV of 'rps_square selectee' from DIV2 to DIV1 and add and remove classes to be exactly same like this. The meaning is Queen Piece is moved from Div2 to Div1. <div id="div1" class="chess_square selectee"> <div id="sub1" class="chess_piece queen"></div> </div> <div id="div2" class="chess_square"> </div> <div id="div3" class="chess_square"> </div> However, the problem is jQuery doesn't update var $selectee = $('.rps_square.selectee');. Even though I changed class names, DIV1 is not clickable and DIV2 is still clickable. By the way, I've used jQuery UI selectable but doesn't refresh either.

    This is something that bothered me a lot at school. 5 years ago, when I learned SQL, I always wondered why we specify first the fields we want and then where we want them from. According to my idea, we should write: From Employee e Select e.Name So why the norm says: Select e.Name -- Eeeeek, what e means ? From Employee e -- Ok, now I know what e is It took me weeks to understand SQL, and I know that a lot of that time was consumed by the wrong order of elements. It is like writing in C#: string name = employee.Name; var employee = this.GetEmployee(); So, I assume that it has a historical reason, anyone knows why?

In other words, we are not actually deploying the wars as separate apps in the container - they are simply running side-by-side inside this one web app that acts like a J2EE container.   • Is there anything on a local network or desktop environment that could effect JScript execution?

    I know this sounds odd. The JS on my project functions perfectly, except when the web site is accessed using computers at one specific company. To make things even more difficult, the JS fails only about 50% of the time when run from that company. The JS failure occurs with FireFox, Chrome, and IE. I have tested this myself using FF and Chrome on a thumb drive. The browsers on my thumb always display my project site perfectly, except when run from a computer on said company's network where they fail at the same rate as the installed browsers. My JS is using jQuery and making some Ajax calls. The Ajax calls are where the failure is occurring. To diagnose the problem I created a logging function for my Ajax calls and recorded success and failure. Over a one month period, there were only a handful of failures (about 1%) from all access points other than this company. Oddly enough, the Ajax calls in the logging function are not failing. There is nothing exotic there - Just Win XP SP3. I have never noticed any other unusual behavior from their network. The company is a division of a mega ISP and is on their corporate network. Any other suggestions for troubleshooting would be welcome.

  • Why does VS2005 skip execution of lines when debugging managed C++ without optimizations?

    I ran into a rather odd behavior that I don't even know how to start describing. I wrote a piece of managed C++ code that makes calls to native methods. A (very) simplified version of the code would look like this (I know it looks like a full native function, just assume there is managed stuff being done all over the place): int somefunction(ptrHolder x) { // the accessptr method returns a native pointer if (x.accessptr() != nullptr) // I tried this with nullptr, NULL, 0) { try { x->doSomeNativeVeryImportantStuff(); // or whatever, doesn't matter } catch (SomeCustomExceptionClass &) { return 0; } } SomeOtherNativeClass::doStaticMagic(); return 1; } I compiled this code without optimizations using the /clr flag (VS.NET 2005, SP2) and when running it in the debugger I get to the if statement, since the pointer is actually null, I don't enter the if, but surprisingly, the cursor jumps directly to the return 1 statement, ignoring the doStaticMagic() method completely!!! When looking at the assembly code, I see that it really jumps directly to that line. If I force the debugger to enter the if block, I also jump to the return 1 statement after I press F10.   • Delaying execution of Javascript function relative to Google Maps / geoxml3 parser?

    I'm working on a implementing a Google map on a website with our own tiles overlays and KML elements. I've been previously requested to create code so that, for instance, when the page is loaded from a specific URL, it would initialize with one of the tile overlays already enabled. Recently, I've been requested to do the same for the buildings which are outlined by KML elements so that, arriving at the page with a specific URL, it would automatically zoom, center, and display information on the building. However, while starting with the tile overlays work, the building KML does not. While the page has completed loading all of the elements, the map on the page is still loading, including the KML elements. I have also tried placing urlClick() in the parser itself in various places which appear to execute after all the shapes have been parsed, but I've had no success there either. While I've been intending to strip out the parser, I would like to know if there is any way of executing the "urlClick" after the parser has returned the KML shapes. Ideally, I don't want to use an arbitrary means of defining a time to wait, such as "wait 3 seconds, and go", as my various browsers all load the page at different times; rather, I'm looking for some way to say "when the parser is done, execute" or "when the Google map is completely loaded, execute" or perhaps even "hold until the parser is complete before advancing to urlClick".

  • powershell missing member methods in array

    Hi Guys I have (yet another) powershell query. I have an array in powershell which i need to use the remove() and split commands on. Normally you set an array (or variable) and the above methods exist. On the below $csv2 array both methods are missing, i have checked using the get-member cmd. How can i go about using remove to get rid of lines with nan.     Hey everyone, I'm new to persistence / hibernate and I need your help. Here's the situation. I have a table that contains some stuff. Let's call them Persons. I'd like to get all the entries from the database that are in that table. I have a Person class that is a simple POJO with a property for each column in the table (name, age,..) Here's what I have : Query lQuery = myEntityManager.createQuery("from Person") List<Person> personList = lQuery.getResultList(); However, I get a warning saying that this is an unchecked conversion from List to List<Person> I thought that simply changing the code to Query lQuery = myEntityManager.createQuery("from Person") List<Person> personList = (List<Person>)lQuery.getResultList(); would work.. but it doesn't. Is there a way to do this ? Does persistence allow me to set the return type of the query ? (Through generics maybe ? )

  • Why does SQL Server 2000 treat SELECT test.* and SELECT t.est.* the same?

    I butter-fingered a query in SQL Server 2000 and added a period in the middle of the table name: SELECT t.est.* FROM test Instead of: SELECT test.* FROM test And the query still executed perfectly. Even SELECT t.e.st.* FROM test executes without issue. I've tried the same query in SQL Server 2008 where the query fails (error: the column prefix does not match with a table name or alias used in the query). For reasons of pure curiosity I have been trying to figure out how SQL Server 2000 handles the table names in a way that would allow the butter-fingered query to run, but I haven't had much luck so far. Any sql gurus know why SQL Server 2000 ran the query without issue? Update: The query appears to work regardless of the interface used (e.g. Enterprise Manager, SSMS, OSQL) and as Jhonny pointed out below it bizarrely even works when you try: SELECT TOP 1000 dbota.ble.* FROM dbo.table

    I'm trying to get some query performance improved, but the generated query does not look the way I expect it to. The results are retrieved using: query = session.query(SomeModel). options(joinedload_all('foo.bar')). options(joinedload_all('foo.baz')). options(joinedload('quux.other')) What I want to do is filter on the table joined via 'first', but this way doesn't work: query = query.filter(FooModel.address == '1.2.3.4') It results in a clause like this attached to the query: WHERE foos.address = '1.2.3.4' Which doesn't do the filtering in a proper way, since the generated joins attach tables foos_1 and foos_2. If I try that query manually but change the filtering clause to: WHERE foos_1.address = '1.2.3.4' AND foos_2.address = '1.2.3.4' It works fine. The question is of course - how can I achieve this with sqlalchemy itself?
