  • Efficient way to store tuples in the datastore

    If I have a pair of floats, is it any more efficient (computationally or storage-wise) to store them as a GeoPtProperty than it would be pickle the tuple and store it as a BlobProperty? If GeoPt is doing something more clever to keep multiple values in a single property, can it be leveraged for arbitrary data? Can I store the tuple ("Johnny", 5) in a single entity property in a similarly efficient manner?

I'm also evaluating SIP (e.g. SofiaSIP), but it's working only if connected to a server.

    I am building a small web app for a pharmacy to keep track of sales and stocks, so in short, in one page, the pharmacist will enter a bar-code and the item is displayed, pharmacist enters quantity (price will be automatically calculated) then next item and next and so on, I haven't worked with such a problem before so I would appreciate any advices/tips on how to do it, what to use and wither its already done in some tidy neat way I can just import into my page.     I am working with DateTime, trying to get date in the format like this: 03.05.2010-04.05.23 that is: dd.MM.yyyy-HH.mm.ss I'm using DateTime.ParseExact to try to achieve this (maybe wrong) So far I have: var dateInFormat = DateTime.ParseExact(DateTime.Now.ToShortDateString(), "dd.MM.yyyy.HH.mm.ss", null); But can't quite get exactly what I want. Basically I want to keep the 0, for example time is 05:03:20 PM I don't want it to show like 5:3:20 PM Any ideas?

    I have a JOB table, with two interesting columns: Creation Date Importance (high - 3, medium 2, low - 1). A JOB record's priority calculated like this: Priority = Importance * (time passed since creation) The problem is, every time I would like to pick 200 jobs with highest priority, and I don't want to resort the table. Is there a way to keep rows sorted? I was also thinking about having three tables one for High, Medium and Low and then sort those by Creation Date.

    when i put ajax on my code I send a group of variable via post but when i received the data it is in a obj.responseText ie TEXT format. say i have two files "form.php" and "index.php" ajax is implemented in form.php while index.php returns the text. but my problem is index.php also generates a variable named "tarriff_count" i want to catch systematically and separately this variable, Is there any systematic way to catch variable.also keep in mind "obj.responseText" is very complicated to get a variable from "preg_match" ?

    Hey there, trying to install a ruby gem but I keep getting the following error: ERROR:failed to build gem native extension /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/bin/ruby extconf.rb mkmf.rb can't find header files for ruby at/System/ Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/lib/ruby/ruby.h I'm not exactly sure what is happening here.     Hi, I have followed http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3035932/liferay-custom-authentication-web-service link to customize authentication. But Liferay is still checking whether the same user email id is configured in the liferay db or not. If its not, it is saying that authetication failed. I do not want to keep any user information in the liferay db. Do any one know how to do that? Regards Vishal G
