  • What's the best approach for modifying PDF interactive form fields on iOS?

    I've been doing some head banging on this one and solicit your advice. I am building an app that as part of it's features is to present PDF forms; meaning display them, allow fields to be changed and save the modified PDF file back out. UIWebViews do not support PDF interactive forms. Using the CGPDF apis (and benefit from other questions posted here and elsewhere), I can certainly present the PDF (without the form fields/widgets), scan and find the fields in the document, figure out where on the screen to draw something and make them interactive. What I can't seem to figure out is how to change the CGPDFDictionary objects and write them back out to a file. One could use the CGPDF Apis to create a new PDF document from whole cloth, but how do you use it to modify an existing file? Should I be looking elsewhere such as 3rd party PDF libs like PoDoFo or libHaru? I'd love to hear from anyone who has successfully modified a PDF and written it back out as to your approach. Thanks!

  • How to step frames in a movie recorded by iPhone

    Is there a way to have my iPhone program step frame by frame through a movie recorded by the iPhone? What I want to do is have the user record a quicktime movie, then be able to step through the movie frame by frame. Alternately, I suppose if there was a way to extract every single frame from the movie to a jpg, then I could easily step through the pictures. Anyone know of a way to do this??? I suppose the third option (which might not get past Apple's store) is to capture the movie the way the old jailbroken apps did, which is somehow capture the pictures directly from the camera view???? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!

  • "Warning reaching end of non-void fuction" with Multiple Sections that pull in multiple CustomCells

    I'm getting "Reaching end of non-void function" warning, but don't have anything else to return for the compiler. How do I get around the warning?? I'm using customCells to display a table with 3 Sections. Each CustomCell is different, linked with another viewcontroller's tableview within the App, and is getting its data from its individual model. Everything works great in the Simulator and Devices, but I would like to get rid of the warning that I have. It is the only one I have, and it is pending me from uploading to App Store!! Within the - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {, I have used 3 separate If() statements-(i.e.==0,==1,==2) to control which customCells are displayed within each section throughout the tableview's cells. Each of the customCells were created in IB, pull there data from different models, and are used with other ViewController tableViews. At the end of the function, I don't have a "cell" or anything else to return, because I already specified which CustomCell to return within each of the If() statements. Because each of the CustomCells are referenced through the AppDelegate, I can not set up an empty cell at the start of the function and just set the empty cell equal to the desired CustomCell within each of the If() statements, as you can for text, labels, etc... My question is not a matter of fixing code within the If() statements, unless it is required. My Questions is in "How to remove the warning for reaching end of non-void function-(cellForRowAtIndexPath:) when I have already returned a value for every possible case: if(section == 0); if(section == 1); and if(section == 2). *Code-Reference: The actual file names were knocked down for simplicity, (section 0 refers to M's, section 1 refers to D's, and section 2 refers to B's).     Hi, I am creating a custom StyleLabel by extending the UIView, which provides a link for particular type of strings. I have successfully implemented this functionality. I am using this label in TableViewCell along with UILabel.i set UILabel & StyleLabel background color is set to clearColor. UILabel works fine, but StyleLabel shows background in blackColor. I am not sure what is the problem with the following code.   • Draw rectangle using Core Graphics with live preview

    I'm creating a simple drawing application and would like some help with drawing rectangles based on the user's touch events. I'm able to draw a rectangle using Core Graphics from the point in touchesBegan to the point in touchesEnded. This rectangle is then displayed once the touchesEnded event is fired. However, I would like to be able to do this in a 'live' fashion. Meaning, the rectangle is updated as the user drags their finger. Is this possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

    Hi, i was trying to serialize an ArrayList which contacins custom objects. I`am serializing it in a servlet(server side), and deserialize at the client side. (using ObjectOutputStream,ObjectInputStream) it worked fine, when I work with ArrayList< String but when i tried it with ArrayList< MyObject i couldnt get any results in the client side, this is the exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: web.MyObject *ofcourse that i have done this: MyObject implements Serializable ...     Basically, I need to call a method in my AppDelegate from one of my view controller classes. Currently, I'm doing the following: myAppDelegate *appDelegate = (myAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; [appDelegate doMethod]; And including the myAppDelegate.h at the top of the .m file of the class: #import "myAppDelegate.h" When I run it, everything works... But I get the following warning: warning 'myAppDelegate' may not respond to '-doMethod' Is there another way that I should reference the app delegate? Thanks for any help in advance.

  • WINSDK: Determining whether an arbitrary pid identifies a running process on Windows

    Attempting to implement a poor man's test of whether a process is still running or not (essentially an equivalent of the trivial kill(pid, 0).) Hoped to be able to simply call OpenProcess with some minimal desired access then test for either GetLastError() == ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER or GetExitCodeProcess(...) != STILL_ACTIVE. Nice try... Running on Windows XP, as administrator: HANDLE hProc = OpenProcess(PROCESS_QUERY_INFORMATION, FALSE, pid); if (!hProc) { DWORD dwLastError = GetLastError(); } ...fails miserably with dwLastError == ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED when pid is owned by a different (not SYSTEM) user. Moreover, if pid was originally owned by a different user but has since terminated, OpenProcess also fails with ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED (not ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER.) Do I have to use Process32First/Process32Next or EnumProcesses? I absolutely do not want to use SeDebugPrivilege. Thanks, V

  • Any way to ask a method for its name?

    I'm trying to debug an iPhone app I'm working on, and the idea of adding fifty NSLog statements to the various source files gives me the willies. What I'd like to do is write a pair of statements, say NSString *methodName = [self methodName]; NSLog(@"%@", methodName); that I can just paste into each method I need to. Is there a way to do this? Is there some Objective-C construct for asking a method for its name? Or am I gonna have to do this the hard way?
